In the book, ‘Ron Kittle’s Tales from White Sox Dugout’ released in March, Ron Kittle shares stories and tidbits of his time with the Chicago White Sox, a team he led to the American League Championship and earned Rookie of the Year honors for in 1983. One story in the book, however, tells of Barry Bonds’ feelings towards white folks. In the book, Kittle said he approached Bonds with a couple of jerseys and asked him to sign them for an auction to benefit Kittle’s charity for children with cancer.

Barry Bonds' bat may be silent but he continues to court controversy like no other player.

"I paid about $110 of my own money for them, so they could be auctioned off at the golf outing,” Kittle wrote in the book. “I did that all the time for stars like Mark McGwire, Sammy Sosa, Derek Jeter and Roger Clemens. When I tell them how their autographs help the cause, every player gladly signs — with one exception. I walked up to Bonds at his locker in the Wrigley Field visitors' clubhouse, introduced myself and said, ‘Barry, if you sign these, they'll bring in a lot of money for kids who need help.’ Bonds stood up, looked me in the eye and said, ‘I don't sign for white people.’ If lightning hits me today, I will swear those were his exact words. Matt Williams and other Giants were in the room and they heard what Bonds said."

Bonds and the Giants organization have not commented on the claims.

Dennis Rodman to Carry His Wife – for a Trophy

He’s gone from being an NBA superstar to B-movie actor to pro wrestler to talk-show host, so you would think there couldn’t be much that Dennis Rodman hasn’t done. For the first time, however, Dennis Rodman will participate in this year’s Wife Carrying World Championships taking place on July 2 in Sonkajarvi, Finland.

Wife-carrying’s origins are buried deep in an age-old local tradition -- in this case, the 19th century practice of wife-stealing. The competition has achieved enormous popularity worldwide, spawning North American, Australian, German, South African, and Estonian Championships.

The event is sponsored by GoldenPalace.com, for whom Rodman previously worked when he joined in the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain.

Is there really something more than music that brings Tweet and Missy Elliott together? Finally tired of refuting rumors that she and Elliott are lovers, Tweet gives the scoop on why she's able to easily ignore the trash talk these days.

Since Yao Ming’s been in the NBA for a few years, he’s getting a bit more comfortable with how Americans play. But for his rookie year, the physical aspect, the one-on-one style of play and constant trash-talking were a culture shock for the Chinese seven-footer. That’s why NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will be heading to Shanghai this summer to host camps that explore the cultural differences between American and Asian players. As part of that exploration, he will also teach players how to use language to intimidate opponents. Josh Smith of the Atlanta Hawks and Desmond Mason of the Milwaukee Bucks will also join Abdul-Jabbar. Participants will also learn about footwork, rebounding, nutrition and mental preparation.

Washington Redskins free safety Sean Taylor was arrested last week and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, a felony, and one count of simple battery, a misdemeanor. According to a police statement, Taylor pointed a gun at an unidentified person Wednesday during a dispute over two all-terrain vehicles he claimed were stolen. Washington Redskins running back Clinton Portis paid former teammate Ifeanyi Ohalete $18,000 to avoid going to court over a jersey number. When Portis signed with the ‘Skins in 2004 he wanted to his old number, 26, which he had while he was with the Denver Broncos. Ohalete already had the number, so the two reached an agreement where Portis would pay Ohalete $40,000 for it. Portis paid $20,000 upfront and planned to pay off the debt by December 2004. Ohalete, however, was cut before the season started. As a result, Portis felt that their contract was void, so he didn’t pay the remaining amount of the agreement. Ohalete then threatened Portis with court action.
