Update: US beats China 3-2 in women's volleyball

After pretty bad beatdown at the hands of Cuba the other night, during which they were swept 3-0, the USA Women's Volleyball team rebounded defeating Venezuela, winning the match 3-1. The win puts the 4th ranked Americans at 2-1 giving them a better chance to move out of the preliminary pool play. The loss against Cuba, who is ranked 3rd worldwide, gave the team the motivation to play up to their talent.

"I think it kind of woke us up," wing spiker Logan Tom told the Associated Press. "We were saying, 'Get in it, we don't have very long here. We've worked for four years for this, some of us longer. Don't throw it away.'"

There are 12 women's volleyball teams competing in this year's Olympics that are divided into two pools. The top four teams will advance out of the round robin play and advance to the quarterfinals. Team USA will face China next who is currently ranked 7th in the world.
