NEW YORK (AP) -- A day after his carefully orchestrated protests briefly blocked rush-hour traffic, the Rev. Al Sharpton on Thursday promised to stage another mass protest over three police detectives' acquittals in the 50-bullet killing of an unarmed man.

Not long after the polls close in the May 20 Kentucky and Oregon primaries, Barack Obama plans to declare victory in his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
And, until at least May 31 and perhaps longer, Hillary Clinton's campaign plans to dispute it.

San Diego State University suspends six fraternities in the wake of a huge drug bust on campus. Police arrested nearly 100 people, most of them students, and seized a wide array of drugs and at least $60,000 in cash after an extensive undercover operation. According to a court document, profits from drug sales were used pay for some fraternity activities.
