    With today's technology a musician can single-handedly record music and distribute it directly to fans. Neo-soul crooner Maxwell (born Maxwell Rivera) has taken note of the new trend by uploading a snippet of his newest song 'Pretty Wings,' a track set to appear on his highly anticipated album 'Black Summer's Night.' Since September 7, 2007 the unreleased track has received over 1,000,425 plays on the singer's MySpace page.

    Fans of Pamela Anderson can now get closer than ever before to the Canadian-born actress.     When it comes to celebrities making a name for themselves online, Tila Tequila's name is one name that rings a bell loudly! The ex-Playboy bunny currently holds the MySpace record for friends -- more than 2 million friends within her social network. By noticing her online popularity in 2007, Tila managed to land her own bisexually-themed MTV reality show, titled 'A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila'. The show received rave reviews, which ultimately lead to a second season.

    Fatman Scoop & Shanda
    Within the last year hip hop promoter turned radio deejay Fatman Scoop managed turn his popular 'Man and Wife' podcast into a late-night MTV series. Inspired by their bedroom conversations, Scoop and wife Shanda began with their very own video podcast show on the Internet discussing various topics ranging from marriage, relationships, sex, money, politics, and more sex. With such explicit dialogue, the hit webisodes caught the attention of MTV producers, who picked up the show in September 2008.

    You can now add Christina Milian to the long list of artists going independent via the Internet. In September the Afro-Cuban singer-actress inked a deal with MySpace's newly launched record label, MySpace Records. The lead single from her forthcoming as-yet-untitled spring release is called 'Us Against The World.' To date the track has received over 29,500,000 plays on her MySpace page.

    Best known for his work with Bad Boy Records artist Cassie, Ryan Leslie (born Anthony Ryan Leslie) has ignited a career of his own, courtesy of his YouTube channel. With over 41,000 subscribers, the producer-singer has taken advantage of YouTube's capabilities to give fans an inside look at the creation of his upcoming 2009 self-titled project. Some of Leslie's featured videos include studio footage from the making of his lead single 'Diamond Girl.'
