LOL.

You decided to get your feet wet.

Nice article..........it is interesting to get an inside peek into the everyday life of people we at many times have debates about.  While many don't agree with his message of Prosperity.........he sure has something to say about parenting.  Also I do question his motives for adopting white children.  Its one thing to adopt children as a way of giving and sowing into the lives of children that wouldn't get a chance at a decent life, and its another thing to adopt (in this case, children of a different race) because you want to make a statemnet about racism.  That I feel has no place when you are making the decision to adopt..........do it because you want to give a child a chance at life and not because you want to make a statement about racism.

Nonetheless.........Its a blessing when people of faith act on that faith and sow into the lives of their children as well as other children, at the end of the day thats what its all about........raising up sons and daughters of God, in a household that God is the center of.

Good Morning STEV047,

Welcome to BV F&R,

I like Creflo Dollar, I think he is clearly misunderstood and that alot of people go by what their pastor or someone else has said negative about him instead of finding out for themselves.

He has done and is doing a powerful teaching on LOVE which I think a lot of people (a couple I could name) on this board would be very surprised about and would enjoy considering people think he only teaches prosperity.

Alot of time people will take one thing he says and post it but they do not post the context in which he is making the statement.   When you do not hear the statement in its full context how do you know whether or not he is making the statement as something he believes or making the statement based on something someone else said and then he proceeds to expounds on it.

You have a blessed day.

STEVO!!!!!

where you been dude....I've missed you...if I send you a list of abitrarily chosen people to ban from the forum, will you handle that for me?

lol

j/k

on the matter of mr dollar....

I"m not the sort to give a flying poop about money and the earning of it...his ministerial focus is very narrow

my wealth and riches aren't tangible and I'd like to keep it that way...even if, God see fit to one day give me material wealth...

as for his family...good for him...he presents himself as a good and loving father...something more men should do...and ultimately, that MAY be his true ministry....to show how to be a proper husband and father...we shall see...

gotta respect him for that...

Hi STEV047,

I am going to post this article in the ODB board.  Thanks for posting this.

IF ANYTHING HIS TEACHINGS ON PROSPERITY IS A THREAT.   HOW CAN ANYONE NOT AGREE WITH THE MESSAGE OF PROSPERITY???  WOULD THEY RATHER HE TEACH THE MESSAGE OF POVERTY???  EVEN JESUS CAME SAYING THAT HE CAME THAT WE MIGHT HAVE LIFE  AND HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.  IF THATS NOT A PROSPERITY MESSAGE I DONT KNOW WHAT IS!   IF YOU READ ENOUGH OF THE BIBLE ITS OBVIOUS THAT GOD HAS NO QUALMS ABOUT PEOPLE BEING RICH AND PROSPEROUS.  WHAT HE DOES HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IS PEOPLE WHO TRUST IN THEIR RICHES AND NOT IN HIM!  BE PROSPEROUS IN ALL AREAS OF YOUR LIFE!  THAT KIND OF MESSAGE WOULD BE A THREAT TO THE ELITE CLASS WHO WANTS TO STAY ON TOP AND HAVE THE BEST OF EVERYTHING.

…he’s fine by me…the last couple of times I’ve seen him live he has blessed me. He’s sown seed in my life and brought came with some new revelations that have helped me in my walk. Shoot I got some free stuff from one of his conferences…He’s also funny and kuntry…I also like the fact that he doesn’t preach down to folk. His sermons are not the milkers…

I haven’t always been able to receive the Word from him but this year I’ve been paying more attention to what he has delivered…

he's a PIMP...plain and simple... he's PIMPING GOD!!!

I Think is emphasis is on the Wrong thing..  Sure he got rich.  But is God pleased?

I Timothy

4He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

6But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8And having food and raiment let us be therewith content

I Think is emphasis is on the Wrong thing..  Sure he got rich.  But is God pleased?

Uh, God was the one that gave it too him.  He did not get rich he got blessed there is a difference.

The article itself is well written.  I suppose everyone has to feel that they are doing their part to combate racism, and inequality.  However; just once i'd like to hear black males exponding the virtues of something other than monetary gain.  just once i want to hear them exponding the virtues of other forms of wealth that might their journeys more palatable, should they consider the "road less traveled"

Well, then maybe you should listen to some of his sermons.  He is doing a powerful teaching on LOVE.  I think the article focused touched on the prosperity because he is thought of as a prosperity teacher when actually he is very well rounded in what he teaches.  To me the article was more about being a Father and raising children.

There is a difference. And He Got Rich, not Blessed..

Blessed would denote God's hand in the matter, based on that Scripture, God would have to be liar.

I disagree, but we are all entitled to our opinion.  I know the hand of God when I see it.

You be blessed

I know the hand of God when I see it.

what, you Jesus now?  We "see" what we choose to see...based on what we preceive as "holy"....

you like creflo...and that's cool...

doesn't necessarily mean the hand of God had anything to do with what he has though...

that's only for God to know...

all else is speculation, and not for us to even consider...

we ALL have had the hand of God in our lives...but according to you're "eyes" , you'd probably not think so...because what YOU preceive as a blessing...may not be there for all you see....

its a matter of perspective....

Hi Liquid,

No I am not Jesus.  I should have responded to Devlon in more depth, I am sorry it did come across the wrong way.

All I am saying is that each of us has a different walk and different things that God does or brings into our lives for different purposes, based on my OWN experiences with God in the arena of finances yes I can see the hand of God on Creflo's life.  Everyone has a different assignment and everyone needs more or less resources for those assignments.

For example, I have found when people who are extremely wealthy and need salvation judge things based on the outer.  Now in most circumstances not in all when ministering to them the first thing they are going to look at is what you have.  Now that as we know is very superficial but God will meet them just like he met us where they are at mentally, emotionally, etc.

Ecclesiates 9:15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man REMEMBERED that same poor man. 16 Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: NEVERTHELESS the POOR man's wisdom is despised, and his WORDS are NOT HEARD. .

I remember a friend of mine invited one the attorneys she worked for to her church.  He was brought up in wealth.   He came (which was definitely the hand of God in that situation) later on he commented on how he enjoyed the service but he was very impressed by the church building and how it seemed not to lack resources.  He said he expected something totally different.

My friend said he went up and talked to her pastor for quite a while.  Now he may have been looking at something superficial (the building) but only God knows what seed was planted and who he may send to water it so that he can give the increase.

It is like you said it is a matter of perspective.  What God has ordained for your life I may not be able to see certain things because I have not walked that way but you can tell me because you have.

That is all I am saying.

Proverbs 22:2 The RICH and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them ALL..

You have a blessed day.

Grace, peace, and mercy to you STEVO47.

First, we are not to judge folks (the take a walk in my shoes rubric).  However, we can comment on a situation.  Any ministers of the gospel who professes Christian MUST (and that includes all of us) FOLLOW YESHUA-Jesus the Christ in terms of Yeshua's example, Yeshua's teaching.

Any minister that does not so follow, or goes against--WELL, OOPS THERE IT IS!  (Not a truly valid ministry-THAT INCLUDES TAFFY).  Something Yeshua said where your hearts lie(lays)...and ya can't follow two gods..."Seem to recall something about that in the book.  (Also, one Yeshua's boys was always talking about money...the treasurer of the apostles, the purse keeper. HIS NAME WAS JUDAS ISCARIOT!).

But an observation...what in the world is a multi-racial family?  (Looking at your picture, I am gonna assume you ain't a "red-bone" or Creole for NAWLEANS.

What has that got to do with anything?  I myself belong to a faith tradition of "many tribes,” whether I attend in London, Benidorm Spain, or Rio.--everybody's (nationalities and ethnics) gonna be at that Church service.  All Christians (review the New Testament verses on "neither slave nor free, Greek nor...).

Peace and love of the Christ be with you.

Hi Stbernice,

I have a question, I am just curious.  Exactly, what is it that Creflo Dollar is teaching that goes against the word of God.  I have heard people say this before and for the life of me I have heard his teachings and have not found yet where he is going against the word of God.

Could you please be more specific as far as scriptures as to what it is that he is teaching wrong.

If you are basing it on how much God has blessed him financially, then you are talking about many in the bible who were wealthy.

You said something to the effect that the bible states where our hearts lie.  I know which scripture you were trying to quote.   Are you saying that you know the heart of Creflo Dollar and his wife and if so could you please tell us what it is in his heart that would make you think he is preaching what goes against the bible.

No where in the bible does it say that money is a sin.  It says the LOVE of money is evil just because some people in the body of Christ have money does not mean that they have a LOVE for it.  Usually, it is the opposite.  You can best believe when GOD blesses somone with an abundance of material wealth they have proven themselves to be good stewards of what he has given them and they are blessed to be a blessing.

The LOVE of money can ALSO lead to a LACK of it in your life.  So we can use the same stereotype that people try to use for those who God has blessed financially and turn it around and say that those who are lacking in it are lacking because of the LOVE of money because they are not willing to give it up because it may be their security and they rely on that paycheck more than they do on GOD.

You have a nice day.
