At around 11 p.m. pacific time, O.J. Simpson's luck ran out. A jury found him GUILTY of all 12 charges, the most serious: two counts of first degree kidnapping. His co-defendant was also found guilty. Some of the charges carry automatic prison sentences.

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

From Las Vegas

I'm not surprised one bit about the verdicts.  Found guilty on all 12 counts by an all white jury with only 2 minority alternates.  This is astounding but not surprising.  White people have been awaiting this opportunity for more than 13 years.  I suppose they will party tonight.  However, because he did not have a mixed jury that is automatic grounds for appeal.  I hope he can afford to hire some great appellate attorneys that can pick apart the prosecutions tactics etc... during this case; otherwise OJ will be in jail until his death.

Where were his two oldest children?  Maybe they couldn't get there in time.

GOD BLESS YOU OJ.  I know you were doing what you thought was okay but man you have a lot of maturing to do.  Maybe this is Gods way of slowing him down so he can redirect his attention from the white chicks onto Gods grace and mercy.

It's automatic grounds to seek an appeal, but I doubt it will be successful.

Which is where he belongs. Armed robbers go to jail. I'm not convinced of the kidnapping charges myself, but let's face it, the man was a fool to barge into the casino to "get his stuff back." However, as I've said before, when a man who gets away with murder he believes he can get away with anything.

GOD BLESS YOU OJ.  I know you were doing what you thought was okay but man you have a lot of maturing to do.

And after the judge gets down with him, he'll have a lot of time to mature--in prison.

Maybe this is Gods way of slowing him down so he can redirect his attention from the white chicks onto Gods grace and mercy.

In a Nevada prison? More like into the tender mercies of a host of Mexican, black and white men. God has nothing to do with where O.J.'s going. He put himself there.

He, OJ, had god enough lawyers who laid a solid appeal that WILL be won in appellate court!
When they asked for a mistrial when the police officer said that his best friend wife was asked to leave the courtroom for tampering with a witness that was a lie and a lie that cooked O.J.!
I watched it from the begining and this ignorant judge showed complete easily proven bias by her decesions which are disgraceful putting it mildly ! just asking

Further proof you aren't Black. You are glad OJ is going to prison. You also said that he is guilty of murder even though he was found not guilty in the Brown/Goldman trial.

Stop insulting Black folks and saying you are Black when you aren't.

Further proof you [blah, blah, blah...irrelevant personal stuff]

Yawn...boring personal stuff...snore...

Being found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law and being gulity are two different things. I believe OJ got away with murder the first time around. Rather than realize he had dodged a bullet (or lethal injection) due to his high-priced legal team and stay out of trouble, the man took part in an armed robbery. Hey stupid is as stupid does. OJ was stuck on stupid and now he's going to pay.

Well, time will tell but I don't agree. Las Vegas is a city that depends on tourism for the majority of its revenues. The courts there are known for dealing severely with crimes that occur at or near the casinos and hotels because they need tourists to feel safe and spend their money there. Police and judges in LV have a tremendous amount of authority. Nevada's Supreme Court doesn't reverse many lower court criminal rulings. I'd say OJ's going to be sitting in state prison for a while. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

I guess his luck finally ran out.

Whether or not he actually killed Nicole and her friend is between him and God since that jury acquitted him.   But he let his arrogance, egomania and sense of entitlement keep him from thinking this stunt through.  When you know that everyone in law enforcement  (the world?) is just waiting for  you to make a mistake, why on earth would you and your senior citizen posse even contemplate such a stunt?!  So, you don't trust law enforcement, big deal deal; at least it would be documented that a possible crime had been committed against you AND you wouldn't be on your way to jail.

Now, OJ and his senior citizen posse (friends)will probably be doing time for something stupid.  You have to wonder about the sanity of his friends (posse).  Why would supposedly adult  men take such chances with their own lives for THINGS!? Things that weren't even theirs.  The Goldsteins knew that all they had to was wait and they would eventually get some measure of justice.

OJ needs to be jail to protect himself from his own stupidity and arrogance and  the posse needs to be in jail so that their blind adulation doesn't get them into more trouble.

I think the verdict would have been the same even with more Black people on the jury.  Hopefully, Black folks are tired of OJ turning the Black community only when he is trouble. When his life is going well, he doesn't  need Black folks except of course his senior citizen posse. When his life is going down the tubes, he looks to Black folks to bail him out.   Not htis time.

Karma is a real cold b***h when she comes your way.

Yawn...more LIES from a person who says they are Black when they aren't.  Why should I listen to or believe anything you say when you have lied about who you are?  Therefore your credibility is shot and what you say is worthless.

Hello,

One thing I see human beings do no look at, is the cause for it all. If you had even one offense brought to you.  You would calm down for a while. OJ even called the popo to let THEM know what he was doing. Let me say it loud and clear. "THAT WAS STUPID".  He and his life have affected my life since the 90's. He was a great runner. Wasn't supposed to run, how the doctors saw it back then. He ran for them. He ran with them, as in ELITES. Black People are tourists in Las Vegas. (NOT I... NO PARTS OF SIN CITY FOR ME.... YET!) So we make choices. OJ made one as far I have seen, okay two.

1) Running up, setting up a sting to get his things back. (Pressure of being a man, he still decided).  Not being an officer while doing it. Stupid move.

2) Calling the police (feds) and letting them know what you're doing?

PRICELESS

P.S.---- Hard folks on the downlow.

I guess his luck finally ran out.

Boy, I'll say!

Whether or not he actually killed Nicole and her friend is between him and God since that jury acquitted him.

Not actually. If OJ did actually kill the mother of his two children and Ron Goldman, a young man with his whole life ahead of him, that's a crime against humanity. When a man who committed murder gets away with it, the outrage society feels often lasts forever. (Can you imagine the sense of horror felt by Ron Goldman's family? Their son goes to Nocole Simpson's house to drop off a pair of glasses she left at a restaurant and ends up brutally murdered.)

But he let his arrogance, egomania and sense of entitlement keep him from thinking this stunt through.

I completely agree. And from where does such arrogance, egomania and sense of entitlement derive? Partly from being a celebrity and partly from having gotten away with murder.

I think the verdict would have been the same even with more Black people on the jury.

I'm not so sure about that. A brother can be guilty as sin but can always find a few black people who are willing to put the blame on "the system." In the case of a jury he would have only needed to find one to hang them.

Did you see his reaction to the verdict? I believe he actually thought he would walk.

KMeister

I'm sure he believed he would walk.  Nothing in his life experience had ever shown him or prepared him for the fact that he could ever be held accountable for his actions.

I like to think (probably wishful thinking on my part) that the Black community has enough of OJ.  The sooner we stop squandering our good-will on people like OJ, who have had every chance in the world handed to them and  then trashed them ,and start to concentrate on those in our community who are truly in need the better off we will be as a community.

The system has done nothing to OJ.  He used the system every which way he could and then dared the system to hold him accountable.  The system did not blink this time.  It's just too bad that his friends let blind adulation lead them to follow him.

I still say, Karma is a cold b***h when she comes around your way.

That judge and prosecution team should of just put on their white sheets and stop pretending they were after the truth!

When the "all white" jury was selected and the minorities were stricken by the prosecutor his goose was cooked then technically, yet AA and some whites gave hope that common sense would prevail to the jury and see that this alleged case was nothing but "revenge" for some white folks especially white women!!!!!!!

Not having your "peers" adjudge you is grounds enough for an appeal, the law cannot hide from itself no matter how much you and anyone else wishes to disguise their racism as justice being done!!!!! just asking

I don't agree. While Simpson didn't brandish a firearm, his cohorts did, which makes him subject to prosecution. Even if he didn't know they were carrying weapons, he can be tried for armed robbery. Personally, I believe the kidnapping charge was a bit much, but that's the risk one takes when committing a crime.

Not having your "peers" adjudge you is grounds enough for an appeal.

I'm not a lawyer, but I don't believe you're right about this. There's no Constitutional requirement for a jury of one's "peers." The Sixth Amendment to the Constitution states:

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district where in the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defense.

The Nevada Supreme Court doesn't overturn many criminal cases. Nevada is a pro-prosecution state. If one is convicted in a criminal trial, most likely that conviction is going to stand appellate challenges.

Call me jaded but I no longer have any sympathy or excuses for OJ. He is an intelligent man-at least I would like to think so. He knows that many believe he killed his wife and her male friend.I don't understand why he consistently commit acts that would cause him to get in trouble with the law.

It 's like he was always taunting those who had it in fo him. I don't feel sorry for him but I do feel sorry for his children and sisters. I  believe OJ is self -centered with a big fat ego. I believe he carves attention and must do whatever is necessary to get it.

I don't know if OJ committed the murders or not .Regardless, he was found not guilty. It was up to OJ to walk the straight and narrow. It.s hard to defame someone' character if one does not give any ammuniti0on.

Sometime, we run out of chances. We may suffer little or no consequences for are negative behavior but grace and mercy do run out. It is my hope and prayer that O J really do some soul searching and make some serious changes in his life. I beieve that when he was in prison before Rosie  Gere ministered to him . I believe God offered His grace and mercy but once OJ was out of the fire(found not guilty) he  went back to busness as usual. OJ has to go through the fire again. This time his stay will not be so quick. You cannot live your lif recklessly and not expect to suffer some of the consequences. This a lesson for all of us to learn.

It"s not about race. It"s not about payback. It's about OJ!  It's about OJ veiwing himself as his own god. I  hope he will stop placing blame for his problems on others ( Brown and Goldman family) but begin to acknownledge his responsiblity for the way his life turnout

See it's BS like this that shows who you really are and where you side.  The loss for the Brown and Goldman families is tragic but I also see the reverse. You say the loss of Ron Goldman was a crime against humanity, yet you always down play other things that Black folks bring up.  What was the middle passage and the holocaust of enslavement?  What about the lynching of Black folks?  What about Donald Byrd being drug behind a truck?  Aren't those things crimes against humanity?  All the countless KKK members and others who got away with murder of Black folks ancestors, and not too long ago either.  These are crimes against humanity.  Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown's murder, were that, a homicide that is unsolved.  You don't know what a crime against humanity is.  YOU are the crime against humanity with the BS you spout on here.  Can you imagine the horror that all Emmett Till's mother felt when here son was lynched and murdered?  What about when Medgar Evers was murdered? Latasha Harlan was shot in the back in LA by a Korean store owner and she was only 9 years old, the store owner got probation and it was on video. Rodney King got beat on TV with a video and his assaliants got away.   Again the Goldman's loss is tragic, but their son was not the first person murdered whose killer got away with it.
