Jesse Apologizes for Crude Obama Remarks(66)

What you've discovered is Jesse Jackson's REAL feelings, FINALLY coming to the surface.
I'm pretty sure that Al Sharpton has some of these thoughts, as well. Both of these men made the run for president without a REALISTIC chance of making it. And here comes this guy from out of NOWHERE, who has struck a chord with ALL people in this country. Black or White. AND, he doesn't need ANY of them. It's not a done deal yet, but what you're witnessing is ENVY. One of the seven deadlies. |
|
why is it, that if he says something that may offend somebody like Jesse Jackson or let's say, the same thing happens to Hispanics, what do we say?, "He's not black enough!" He's not Mexican enough!" This makes me totally sick, do white folks say, "So and so isn't white enough?" I have never heard any white people say some shyt like that, why do we say it? The issue isn't whether Senator Obama is black enough. Although people often refers to him as black, he actually is biracial. I suspect that Jesse Jackson sees Obama as just another politician who has kept his distance from blacks in order to get elected. When I ask African Americans why they support Obama, their reasons are rooted more due to his race rather than any stand he has on issues. I suspect that Jackson resents this. KMeister |

Obama's stand on Africa-American responsibility will rub alot of us the wrong way. The harsh truth is he's right. The engrained welfare mentality must end along with high rates(70%) of illegitimacy. You may blame the white man but the white man is not the solution. Sixty years of taxpayer handouts proves that... Get the free education then go on to be a productive and responsible citizen.

I'm curious to know if he had these same thoughts when bill cosby was talking about responsibility? the truth if the matter is that no matter who says it we have a problem with too many black fathers being absent. are we to believe that people like jackson don't support the idea of brothers being responsible for the children they have made? i'm getting sick of some of our own people especially folks like jackson who ought to know full well that he is trying to be president of the united states of america not just black america and in the process try to encourage us to get with the program that the global economy is not going to wait until we catch up. a good place to start is rebuilding strong families with men involved in the lives of their children. the very worse part of it though is one black man has been exposed to the nation as wanting to emasculate another black man for wanting all black men to do the right thing... |

Once upon a time, Jesse Jackson was a great man in this country. Now, he is little more than a joke (thanks to his own actions). It must be hard for him to watch Senator Obama's successes. I really do not want to diminish many of his achievements of the past but i have personal knowledge of his many shortcomings working directly with him and his people some twenty five years ago. his fifteen minutes are up. its time for someone new... |

I don't think jesse was hating, I think he and the other civil rights advocates (i.e Al Sharpton and a few members of the NAACP) don't like the fact that Barack is crossing over trying to get white people on his side. The reason Al and Jesee won't ever be president is because (and I hate to say this) they are TOO FOCUSED on black issues and not enough on America's issues. Not saying that Black issues aren't America's issues but there are more issues than that and Barack understands that and he is trying to address them all. And it bothers them when they see a BLACK man talk about other black families and trying to get white votes. They have problems with that because they grew up during the civil rights movement and fought so hard against the very people Barack is trying to win over. It's the whole "eating with the enemy" thing. Jesus went through the same thing (Not comparing Barack to Jesus, just making a point). So, I'm not mad at him from that aspect. They do need to understand that the big picture is bigger than the way he talks at churches and his addressing of the African-American family. Shoot, they fought so this could even be possible and now they are mad because in order to get to the next step, he has to deal with America as a whole and not just the Black issues. I think that's a problem! I also have a problem with a reverend saying he wants to cut someone's nuts off. I mean, WWJD? |
|
I like Barck Obama....I think he is doing the right thing, by addressing and focusing on America as a whole. It is not a black or white thing with him. The two idiots who claim to be Americans and is for America are nothing but racist bigots, sharpton and jackson (I refuse t call them reverends, because true reverends would never talk like that), but they need to crawl in a hole and hide. Obama is a person of many colors and he likes all people of every color and that is the type of person we need in the White House. He stands for all Americans, not just certain ones. Now tell me.....if a white person would have said those things that jackson said, what would have happened to that person???? He/she would have been fired, outcasted, humiliated and no one would have accepted their apology. I think the same thing should happen to jackson, give him a taste of his own medicine.

No, I don't think they are misguided. I think they are two faced, bigots, arrogant, and they are definitely racists. They think they are above everyone (blacks, hispanics, whites, etc...). I think they are too big for thier own britches. They feel and they do get away with a lot. They get away with more than anyone I ever saw. And now jackson is going to get away with this, and I feel that is totally wrong. What he said was very wrong, and he shouldn't get away with it. They might have been good for the balck community in the past, but the last 10+ years, they have done nothing but harm and misguide the black communities and they have made things a lot worse than what they were.

You took the words right out of my mouth, because Obama telling the truth about our own as far as the lack of responsibility of men being a part of their childrens' lives. The white man is no more responsible for some of these able bodied people , standing on corners, walking the streets, robbing and stealing from the homes of hard working blacks than he is for the abandonment of their own flesh and blood. The truth of the matter is when you know better you are suppose to do better, but some of us want to remain basking in ignorance and the scary thing about it , that pattern of behavior is passed down to generations that follow. What you've discovered is Jesse Jackson's REAL feelings, FINALLY coming to the surface. Envy and resentment and both are unbecoming. |

What people are saying about personal responsibility or a lack of it is true but it's only part of the problem and solution. Many Black males in low income areas lack steady employment. Just check the numbers for unemployment and under employment and ask if you expect those numbers to realisticlly produce a lot of marrigable men and the types of fathers we want to see more of? Yes we need fathers being responsible parents but it takes more than just that it also takes a steady income which many Black males in poor areas lack. Also we need to acknowledge the role that teen pregnancy is playing in this. Many of the babies being born in poor Black areas are being born to teen mothers. Many of them won't finish high school and most won't get married which will leads to more poverty and child poverty specificlly. You're not going to get a lot of mature parenting when you're dealing with sixteen year old parents. I'd be curious to know how much of that Black 70% out of wedlock rate is represented by teen mothers? I think we can reduce a lot of these problems in these particular Black areas if we can reduce teen pregnancy. Because then we'll have fewer teens having babies which means more will finish high school and be in better positions to get married which will then reduce Black poverty in the long run.
