Why are there so many right-wing(136)
|
sycophants and apologists on this board?
African Americans vote 9:1 Democratic. The few points of intersection between the black community and the GOP largely concern social issues, such as gay marriage. So why then on a board called "black voices" are there so many topics and comments expressing right-wing worldviews on everything from Condoleeza Rice to Israel's attack on Lebanon? |
|
You know why. Because we've been infiltrated.
"If there exists a vindictive GOD who would sentence me to eternal damnation based upon my rejection of the acceptance of his son as my lord and saviour considering the wholly suspect and sketchy evidence available then so be it. These are clearly not the kind of beasts I want to spend eternity with anyway and I'm serious. The whole scam reeks of human inspired manipulation. Those who would follow such a ruse are fools and deserve their dependent lot in life". Immensestream |

I do not know why there are right winged blacks on this board! If you read any of my posts you'll see that I am not one of them. You are attempting to make a political kick about the praise of a person. To me, Bush is stupid because he's stupid. He's greedy because he's greedy and he's selfish because he's selfish, those traits show themselves in some of his political moves but the personal stuff released about him says the same. Now I challenge you to find personal things about Rice that says she is this horrible person you portray her to be. There is power and pride in knowledge! |
|
Do you have anything to add to my question: why are there so many right-wing "black" people on this board? LOL are you implying that a person can only be black if they are left wing? Isn't that rather closed minded??? There's nothing wrong with being right wing. Just because it's different from what YOU believe doesn't mean it's wrong. Flyleaf ! ![]() ![]() |

Becauuuuse. Right wing ideology is TIGHTLY intertwined with Evangelical Christian Theology! And since the majority of African Americans have been well indoctrinated with this theology (and others I mean not just blacks really) they accept the BUSH administrations BLOOD LETTING as just the facilitation of the ushering in of the END TIMES!!!! This is the bottom line!
Be an outcast. Take the contradictions Of your life And wrap around You like a shawl, To parry stones To keep you warm. |

I honestly don't think that many folks around here are paid GOP supporters. In fact, I only have that feeling about one. I've seen one poster with the same approach since I first came here in 1999: constantly looking for opportunities to praise Bush and Republicans (no matter what the facts) and constantly looking for ways to criticize Democrats. You'd figure that with this administration's performance, the chances to honestly praise Bush would be kind of slim, and that some of the pro-Dubya noise would quiet down. When it doesn't slack off at all, you have to suspect that singing from the GOP songbook is in their job requirement. Example: take a look and see who has excuses for the Republicans who voted against extension of the Voting Rights Act? That's a very small and very devoted category here. I think the more common explanation is that folks are acting on the presumption that we are uniformly unaware. Some folks are contrarian, you know: if everybody says "up," they'll say "down," just for the sake of saying it. I think plenty of Republican apologists here are well aware of the 90% support for Democratic Party candidates in recent presidential elections, and because all the mopes they know are part of that 90%, they think that the entire number is made up of people who are dense or lazy or clueless. And it's certainly true that some of us are pro-Democrat and anti-Republican because that's they way they've always known things to be. So what you commonly see here is folks who are used to grilling people who haven't thought through their party affiliation. They enjoy dishing out beatdowns to anybody who can't explain themselves -- which is no different from what happens on message boards on any subject; I see it happen on boards discussing sports, cars and music, too. Since we're so commonly identified as Dem-supporters, folks looking for those kind of targets know where to come. Two separate (but sometimes overlapping) crowds can get their jones fed here: those who want to bash folks they perceive as Democrats/liberals, and those who think they have the ammunition to bash black people. You can generally see that targets are what they're looking for from their usual reluctance to engage in honest debate on issues on even terms. Many would rather just wait to pounce on somebody who reinforces their presumption that we're all poor, dumb, easily led, and waiting for handouts. |

sycophants and apologists on this board? You, Ting, and Thoko-zilla really need to come up with a new vocabulary list. Your Buzzwords are no longer minatory. Hey there's a new word for ya.
I guess it hasn't occured to you that your extreme Manichean view of the world has you so far to the left, that you actually have more in common with skin heads and the klan. Your views don't represent the Democratic party and they certainly don't represent the Black community. What you are witnessing is an overall complete disassociation with militant thinkers. Cause ya ain't done a damm thing for anybody but feed your own disillusioned egos. |

It just seems that way because we are so prolific But if you look at the responses it is 9:1 against anything that a Pub does. As far as why? The Pubs have had the Congress for the past 12 years. They have had the White House for 18 out of the last 26 years. If you want to have a seat at the table of power at the federal level you need to be a Pub. If you are interested in keeping more of your own money in addition to the social items if you are into God and County you need to be a Pub. If you really look at it other than affirmative action the Dems really don't have anything for Black folks. They are into taking your money in higher taxes and for the gay agenda and for abortion up and through birth. |

=sycophants and apologists on this board?=
A few of us, like me, are right wing, but very few, and neither "sycophants or apologists." African Americans vote 9:1 Democratic. Let's hope that will change one day. The few points of intersection between the black community and the GOP largely concern social issues, such as gay marriage. Economics should be one, too, but as keeps happening, no matter what the Republicans do for the economy, most blacks won't give them credit for it. It didn't help that Clinton was in office during 8 boom years that had nothing to do with any of his policies. So why then on a board called "black voices" are there so many topics and comments expressing right-wing worldviews on everything from Condoleeza Rice to Israel's attack on Lebanon? To convince you of the error of your ways. ============================================================= |
