okay...what do you think about tonight's debate with the vp's candidates??
will palin surprise everyone and come out looking 'presidential'??
will she be reading from crammed papers from the podium provided by the 'debate camp'?? or will she have an earpiece?? do you believe from what we've seen so far in 2-4 interviews that she has done is who she is?? or will the 'true' palin come out?? what are your predicted thoughts?? |

I think she's going to get crushed tonight....and I can't wait to see it happen.
I'd like to think/hope that this will be the final nail in the coffin for folks who are straddling the fence or are leaning toward her and McCain...I'd love to THINK that...but I know better. It should be entertaining all the same though.... |

i don't believe she should get special treatment...she is gonna step into the ring, she should be able to take it... it will be entertaining...the best thing biden can do is not talk too much unless it's a response to an insult...other than that, forcing her to do all the talking or put herself on the spot will fluster her completely...if i were biden, i would not DOMINATE any convo--cuz the more she talks, the deeper the hole she digs for herself and mccain... |

This will not work if a technical or intellectual question is asked such as: The Supreme Court case..........Miranda vs the U.S., or any foreign policy question . Any question that relates to any policy..... Biden will not be himself, and Ihope he doesnt. He should just answer the questions and point out McCain's decision making. will palin surprise everyone and come out looking 'presidential'?? Yes, she will surprise us b/c she will actually remember the lines she wrote on the chalkboard 100 times.

If gwen brings up any out of the ordinary questions. do you believe from what we've seen so far in 2-4 interviews that she has done is who she is?? or will the 'true' palin come out?? I think its worse than what has been broadcast. I honestly believe Palin lives in a vaccum. She couldnt even answer specifically about Pro-life issues. She is a pro-life but she couldnt convey the most obvious opinions of the S.Ct., nor could she didnt even the most basic court decisions that affect women or the handicap which she is a woman and has autistic child. SMH!

Greetings: My view is that for the VP debate to be receiving this much attention, implies that it is very pivotal in the success for either candidate...Palin and the GOP have done a good job in generating interest and anticipation...The only attention that Biden is getting is when people talk about how he is going to handle her....No one is talking about his accomplishments... I think the fact that he is being treated like a "name" on a ticket and Palin is being SHOWCASED is not going to make him feel good about himself...If he didnt like the fact that Obama, a relative unknown outshined him in the Democratic primaries...I dont think he appreciates the fact that Palin, a woman with about the same amount of experience as Obama; is getting more attention than him as the VP candidate....At some point, his EGO is going to show... I dont think anyone would be this interested in a debate if Biden was going up against Huckabee or Romney...lol...The fact that ALL EYES will be on Palin and not on Biden has to make him feel less of a politician...and it has to be a good thing for the GOP...They have the audience right where they want it....ON PALIN... While Palin has been out of the media headlight...I think everyone knows she is very capable Governor and an accomplished politician....To think she is going to get the sh.it stomped out of her would imply that the GOP didnt do any research and just threw anyone on the VP ticket...lol... Whether people like her or not....Palin knows what she is doing...She has experienced at debating and she is a good communicator...Just like people attempted to have their "gotcha" moments with Obama when he came out....people are attempting to do the same with her....Its going to happen...she has only been the VP nominee for a little over 6weeks....of course there are going to be things she doesnt know....lol.... Your first day on a new job, you may have to ask "where is the restroom"...or "you may do something differently than the norm"...and I am sure the people that dont like the fact that you got the job are going to laugh at you for not knowing those "little" things...but in the fullness of time, you will clearly demonstrate why YOU got the job and they didnt...lol.... Everyone is using this time to have their "gotcha" moments with Palin...but while some democrats dont want to give her any credit...people quickly forgot how she came out of nowhere and IMPRESSED damn near EVERY media expert from day 1.... From a non-bias perspective, I think even most democrats (if they were being honest) expect her to hold her own...Clearly everyone knows that Biden knows more than her...and EVERYONE expects Biden to defeat her....But it should not be her intent to demonstrate that she knows as much or more than Biden.... If you are playing against MJ, you dont try to SHUT HIM DOWN...you just try to make him take HARDER shots than he would want to take...I think her goal will be to demonstrate that she may not be on par as Biden, but that she is a fast learner.... If I were her Debate captain....I would encourage her to IGNORE Biden....and attack OBAMA and not challenge Biden's knowledge on National Security.....Treat Biden like MJ and make him take HARDER shots...Biden knows National Security, but how well does he know Obama....how well does he agree with Obama....how knowledgeable is he of Obama's policies to speak on them.... Make the debate about OBAMA and how well does Biden know Obama's plans and capabilities to lead this country....If she does that...then I think she comes off well and the GOP gets a nice BUMP from the debate... Palin was able to help cut Obama's 6pt lead to 0 a few weeks ago....lets see if SHE can do it again...However, even if she fails miserable....McCain still has 2 more debates to make up ground...Lets be mindful that there has only been ONE debate and Obama has looked good on ONE issue....Becoming President requires more than winning ONE debate.. |

the same republicans who felt hiliary was not qualified to be president are the same ones who think palin is qualified... wow on what you just responded on...i really believe that newness of A WOMAN alone raised mccain's poll ratings...until palin started to open her mouth...you really believe as arrogant as the republican party is that they would humbly 'hide' palin's true intelliegence until debate day???..then why the camp???...palin is DELIBERATELY looking dumbfounded on numerous interviews and to even 'front' even more, mccain holds her hand with the last interview with katie couric--only to make a grand recognition of her intelligence on debate day???... the day's of playing on most peoples intelligence and ignorance are coming to an end...if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck, then it is...denial is a muthasucker.. newsflash: mccain is a man that really don't care if a woman makes it to the white house--he appointed palin because she has a va-gi-gi...he couldn't handle anyone who would contest him...heck, to live in the white house, get paid, he could have chosen 'flo' from the diner---and flo could prolly fake the funk with some intelligence more than palin...palin has no communication skills whatsoever---she has enough for alaska (that stays dark most of the yr--heck, me and a handful of friends could have done that)... it's okay to like palin...i like a lotta people, but smart enough to realize they would not be qualified to be vp/president...even the best thing mccain can say about palin is that she's POPULAR...so is snoop dog...smh.. mind is a terrible thing to waste.. |

Damn, VerbalTemptation, You're pretty good? Are you a therapist or something? got patients? want one? LOL! No really, I so agree with you. I told my husband, 'don't sleep on her'. She became mayor for a reason. She could just pull the rug from under Biden with her charm. Watch out! I'll be in front of the TV with popcorn and a coke tonight! and yes, it's because of Palin that I'll be watching, not Biden- and I'm voting for Obama!

Greetings: Okay, this is where I respectfully disagree.....I do not think McCain or the GOP would put Palin in this position unless they felt like she would be able to deliver....I do not think McCain selected Palin just because she was a woman...In fact, there were about 5-6 more qualified and highly respected Republican women that would not have come with this scruitny that McCain could have picked....but HE CHOSE PALIN.... It would be naive to think he picked Palin just for the "female" vote...Women as a whole were not going to vote for Obama anyway...McCain didnt need the female vote...Obama needs the female vote...McCain needs the blue-collar vote to win the swing states... Surely even the most staunch supporter of Democrats would have to assume that the GOP did their research and were comfortable with McCain picking from 1-4 people and that she was on the short list.... Also, if McCain and the GOP already knew that Obama had selected Biden, they had several days to counteract that pick by choosing someone that was on par with Biden's knowledge of National Security (if that was their concern)...but they didnt...McCain STUCK with Palin...so clearly there has to be a reason and that reason is HE LIKED PALIN.... Also, I think much of the dumbfounded looks that people are getting from Palin is a result of Palin being NEW to a position that she has only been in for a little over 6 weeks....People act like she is suppose to KNOW EVERYTHING in 4 days...lol... People quickly forgot how Obama stumbled coming out of the political blocks but all of his supporters said, "he is getting better"...lol...Its like people forgot that there is a learning curve with elements of US policies and how "favorably" they treated Obama when he was and is still "learning" about governmental issues that he was NEVER exposed to...but yet....Palin is just an IDIOT when she is doing the same thing....lol Lets be realistic, if you started a new job tomorrow and then you were quized on your new job 2 weeks later...I am sure there are going to be things that you dont know...lol....But to think you are inadequate because you dont know a few "gotcha" things is unfair....lol...but I understand why people are being that myopic, they are looking for a way to PROMOTE their candidate of choice....lol Because the media didnt know much about her....they went after her the same way any media outlet would do if you throw fresh meat in front of them....They were looking for the "gotcha" moments....and they got a few....NO ONE EXPECTED Palin to be on TOP of every issue impacting the US when she has only been exposed to the information for a little over 3 weeks by her first interview....lol Again, I think people are going to be SURPRISED AGAIN when they see how decent of a job Palin does...IMO, if she fails, its going to be a tough road for McCain....but Palin has been preparing for this debate for about 3 weeks....You have to think that an accomplished politician, experienced debater, and "likeable" politician is going to do well with that amount of time to prepare...If you dont, then something is wrong...lol Quite honestly....people are not being fair in their assessment of Palin...but thats a good thing for the GOP; because those people will be the ones that will be the most impressed with her....The people that ALREADY know Palin is good and will be fine are the ones that wont be surprised by how good of a job she does... I mean, come on....lets be fair and realistic.... |

For the LIFE of me......ok idon't care about all this stuff because i don't believe in it. I think everything is staged and who's president doesn't matter regardless because the system itself is still in play, and i believe the president is just a tool of that system. a FACE for that system.
But for the LIFE of me i cannot understand McCAins choosing of this woman for his VP. It's like......it's comical. Tha's what it is. I just look at this stuff and i laugh because it's such a bonehead move i can't believe that someone SERIOUS. About posing this whole charade of a govt could think they could pull this off. All the filtered replies aside, ...if this were Hillary & Palin going at it, it would still be a spectacle. If this were Hillary & Romney, or Huckabee, or Julianne for that matter, this would be as much of a spectacle, so just saying that McCain, Palin & the Republicans ( the ones that still are pretending like Palin on the ticket is a GOOD political move...) have done a good job of generating interest on the matter of the debate, really is not saying that much if you take it all into consideration. Truth is that they wish like HELL at this juncture that they didn't have to put Palin out there tonight & take a chance on her fokin them up even more. Truth is, they (many & more than you'd admit or think..or more than can honestly just say it.. ) HATE that they chose Palin to run, b/c THEY were snowed by her supposed GENIUS & how IT would fit into the GOP plan to have a secondary Clinton-esque WOMAN in the mix,... as well as many around the country. THAT MUCH IS POLITICALLY OBVIOUS NOW. if they could get rid of her at this juncture, BEFORE THE DEBATES, they most certainly would. BUT YOU ARE RIGHT,...this won't be the David & she-Goliath Show that the less political savy seem to think. Palin is going to go after Obama as hard as (she's been instructed to) on many of the isues that Biden has thrown at Obama in the past & she's not gonna take Biden on directly as much as people wanna think. She can't go at Biden skrait up, she'd loose. Biden can't go at Palin like he would a man. He's gonna have to tag her softly b/c she's a woman, & b/c he has to look above her & Vice Presidential & hit her with soft punches & wait for her to show weakness. Won't be what every is predicting. Can't be, unless there is a snafu.

I am almost afraid to even say it, but I do think and believe that one should not under estimate this woman's ability. She did not reach her status by playing dumb. She knows when to use and what to use and how to use all of her knowledge, the lack of her opponent's knowledge when necessary. She is also great at being vague and making it appear she said something meaningful. She has been playing the game of politics for a while now and has become an expert on how to answer a question without answering anything and putting her opponent in the corner and basically having to answer the question for her.

Greetings: I will admit....I will be SHOCKED and STUNNED if Palin comes out tonight and completely fumbles this debate....lol My expectations are that she will be IMPRESSIVE and that it will be Biden that will fumble....lol Personally, I think the one element that people are overlooking is that Biden and McCain are FRIENDS...I dont think Biden will go after McCain with the same type of aggression that Palin will go after Obama...I really feel like Biden will "pull up" on Palin out of respect for McCain...and that is going to be the edge that Palin will need to look good... Something just tells me that Biden may not throw Obama under the bus...but I dont think Biden is going to DEFEND Obama with the same level of passion that Palin will defend McCain... |

Not only that, but let's not forget that she is the only "woman". There will be a certain amount of gentlemanly behaviour bestowed upon her. That would be my guess. I do not think either of the men would want to come across as being less "chivalrous" in their actions. They will treat her as something precious, something fragile and will make sure no stones are thrown too hard towards her.

I think she will do fine. Which is all she needs to do. Expectations have been set so low for her she should have no problem overcoming them. I doubt she will look 'presidential' but she doesnt need to look presidential. Her main job will be to appeal to her conservative base and attack Obama. She will likely inject gender politics into the equation whenever possible to draw sympathy from female viewers and remind everyone that she is 'one of them' which will mean in code that she is white and Obama is black. She will avoid giving direct answers to any question that doesn't fall in line with Republican talking points and simply run out the clock as charmingly as possible while attempting to draw Biden into attacking her instead of McCain so he can be made to look like a big ole bully picking on the girl. On the issues I expect Biden to win this debate easily, but in terms of image, charisma, and sheer likeability I expect Palin to do very well with middle class white folks who still WANT her to do well. This is their white mother, their white sister, their white aunt, their white woman.... They may not like her...but deep down.....they WANT TO. Disappointment is another way of expressing a repressed desire for a different outcome.

it's really no use trying to 'copy and paste' certain things you just mentioned above...it's been proven that people vote for who they want no matter what the writing on the wall is trying to tell you.. sooo what, you support mccain...you have that right..and you have a right to your opinion--as do i.... i was taught right is right, wrong is wrong--no matter what the race, ethnicity, political party, etc...if obama picked palin i'd be saying the same thing about how ridiculous it is for him to choose her.. this is where you are VERY WRONG: mccain has a plethra of intelligent women he could of chosen...but he didn't---this should be a serious clue for you--unless of course you UNDERSTAND why he picked her---to be his puppet....and i'm sure he told her, 'sarah, you don't have to say anything --i'll do all the talking and deciding--just say you agree with me on most issues'...... but please don't think that even she remembered everything in 'debate camp' that she is gonna surprise folks...she is just gonna surprise you and yours and only because she is gonna get thru this evening... gop is NEVER gonna admit the wrong choices, decisions, etc...just gonna 'go wit it' and hope you can falsely convince the less educated folk that they will fall suit...OF COURSE the republicans are even gonna say she did great, won, --just like they did with mccain---soo you don't surprise me at all --keep polishing those rose colored glasses---cuz the chyt is gonna keep clouding them... |
