YOU KNOW I HAVE MET MICHAEL BASIDEN HERE  IN MY CITY OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS AND HE IS FULL OF ENERGY WE HAD A CONFERENCE HERE CALLED THE SPIRITT OF SISTERHOOD AND WE HAD SUSAN L. TAYLOR OF ESSENCE AND MAY I SAY SHE IS VERY INSPIRING AND WORDS AND THE WAY SHE CARRIES HERSELF SHE IS AWESOME AND AS FOR MICHAEL BASIDEN YES HE DOES YELL AT TIMES ON THE AIR I TOO CAN LISTEN TO HIM FROM 2-6PM BUT HE APPEARED TO BE A LITTLE AGROGANT  WHEN I SAW HIM AND GUESS WHAT GIRL HE IS SHORT (SO YOU KNOW SHORTMAN COMPLEX)LOL

have u read anything by connie briscoe she is a good author i've read all of her book and haven't her latest but i'm gonna buy from amazon.com and I also enjoy reading everrything from benilde little her new book "who does she think she is" she wrote sisters and friends something she click on amazon.com and type in her name and they'll bring up all of her books

Both Men Cry in the Dark and The Maintenance Man were excellent novels with a refreshing black-male perspective.  Highly recommend

I have read all of his books and they are great!! I get the impression thee is little bit of truth to his books as if he is revealing a lil peek into who he is....I used to listen to him on 98.7 Kiss FM in the afternoon and I thought he was hilarious and I have called into the show and spoke with him he is a really great person.

he's new to the Detroit market too..I listen to his show primarily because I've read a couple of his books...yep he can write.

I read PG County by Connie Briscoe.  I liked it.  I don't think I've read anything by Benilde Little.  I have to check my books - I read so much and some are memorable and others...well I enjoy them at the moment, but I can barely remember the storyline later.

I am reading Maintaince Man now - just getting into it and I suspect Baisden got quite a bit of 'woof woof'  in him.  I wonder how autobiographical this book is too...

That's just what I was thinking too and I think Baisden got quite a bit of 'freak' in him too.

...not that I don't value the womens' opinions on this issue, because I do, sistas are raw when it comes to truth...it just seems that his show is primarily geared to women with Baisden playing the 'nice' guy part...so for a man to 'up' him is definitely quite a testament.   I am reading Maintaince Man now - mainly because it's the only Baisden book the book store had when I went looking... and I am just getting into it - but it's an interesting read so far.  Good flow but I just want to see how it develops.  Thanks.

I'm over half way through Maintenance Man and it's good so far...I guess it will end on a positive note.

My favorite book by M Baisden is Men Cry In The Dark. So you have finished Maitenance Man?!... Glad you enjoyed it. You should try Never Satisfied: How and Why Men Cheat, it is interesting as well.

Yes,  I finished Maintance Man and I did enjoy.  I will check out something else by him in the near future - thanks for your recommendations.  I just finished Nice or Naughty (JEDickey) and wanted to read something else by him (I read The Other Woman and liked it a lot) so I picked up Drive Me Crazy - I am having trouble getting into it so far but I have discoverd that I like Dickeys style.

You are welcome for the recommendations. I always love it when someone can tell me a good book to read. I like trial and error too, but it is always nice to have a "heads up" about a book. So, thanks for your recommendations as well. I have never read The Other Woman by EJD, so I will try it. Thanks again. :)
