What is your favorite book?

Until The End Of Time by: Melanie Schuster

Sexxy Liz

I can't pick a favorite.  Anything by Toni Morrison, Thomas Hardy, or Amy Tan I love to read and reread.

What doesn't the media want us to know?

Hands down, "Auntie Mame" by Patrick Dennis.  It is impossible to feel anything but terrific after reading this book!

Hello sexxyliz09,

In response to your question my favorite book is In The Meantime(by Iyanna Vanzant). The reason that I love this book so is it's a motivational book. To me it fully defines a women and what they go threw in relationships. It gives advise on all different sides of love. Most importantly it describes in depth loving yourself and how important that is to having a good realtionship. It also teaches that just settling for anything is just a recipe for doom. All in all I would recommend every women to read this book.

I WOULD HAVE TO SAY ONE OF THE ALLTIME BEST WAS THE CHAMBER BU JOHN GRISHAM.......AND IF YOU LIKE MURDER MYSTERY...YOU HAVE TO READ DAN BROWNS THE DAVINCI CODE.......

Anything by Mary Monroe.  Especially Gonna lay my burdens down.

There are so many over the years, but if I had to absolutely pick just one, I would say Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Its a chilling story of how the white missionaries came to Africa anc changed an entire culture. For those who may not know of him, Achebe is a Nigerian writer who is outstanding. Any of his writings are great, but thats my favorite. By the way, it was first published in 1958 and is still selling.

Of course, anything by Upton Sinclair is fine with me also. Sinclair was a socialist who wrote books dealing with how the rich get richer and the poor get pooer. Most of his books are based back in the early 1900s and upwards. The governent hated him.

If you can get a translated copy of The Gleeners which was written by a Frenchwoman, whos name escapes me. I'll have to check it. Another socialist. Its about how the people of France had to 'gleen' (pick-up) left over crops on farms in order to survive. She has a famous picture of the same name. My mother had a copy of it hanging over the mantle since we were all kids. I always wanted to know the story behind the picture. Finally, a few years ago, I found the book and the story. By the way, the picture is still in our family. Its over 70 years old, so you know the book is at least that old. I love finding out of print books that had meaning.

The illiterate of the twenty-first century will not be those who can not read or write, but those who can not learn, un-learn and re-learn.

Hidden Tears   by Tweedy

you can only get it on line right now but I'm telling you it will touch you in a way you never thought. This is Comming from a guy who is not a big reader. If you want to check it out go to www.xlibris.com then go to book store and put in the name of the book or the Authors name.

I have read two books by her - "Upper Room" and God Still Don't Like Ugly" - I love her writing.  Since I already read God Still Don't Like Ugly, is it worth it to read God Don't Like Ugly and also how is the Red Light Wives?

Hands down, The Healers and Two Thousand Seasons by Ayi Kweh Armah.  These books are relevant, powerful and profound.  At this point(and has been for years),  Armah is one of my favorite writers, but, it's like music, I love all types of writers and styles.

It's hard to pick just one .   One that I really enjoyed, read it quite a while ago, was     SHE'S COME UNDONE

By Wally Lamb

that book was soooo good.

Hey!!

what do you all think about books on cd or tapes.

Recently I borrowed one from the local library.

(1st time)

Terry mcmillian's    A buck short and a day too soon

It was good ----     but  ----    I felt as if i were cheating  lol

not taking the time to actually read.  Listened to it while driving to and from work.

What's up girl? I tried the book on tape and I felt the same way. Its nothing like getting in bed with a good book and cuddling with it. I would rather read.

YES THAT WAS A GOOD BOOK. HAVE YOU READ DUTCH BY TERI  WOODS .   OR THUGS AND THE WOMEN WHO LOVE THEM BY WAHIDA CLARK.THESE ARE SOME OF THE BEST BOOK I HAVE READ . AND I READ THEM ALL .GET THEM AND ENJOY THEM THEN GET BACK AT ME.
Oh so You have read Hidden Tears?  How did you like it ? You would not know that she is a first time author the way the book was wriiten. Give your feed back from a womans point of view.

God don't like ugly is  a must read especially if you've read part II.  Just the background info on the characters is important.  You learn a lot about the main character by walking through her painful childhood with her.  I haven't read part II God still don't like ugly I waiting for a friend to finish.

Peace
