The Jeffersons and Good Times were classics, which is the main reason they've been so successful in syndication. And I think there probably is some truth in Monte getting black balled in the industry. But there's always a someone with a story about how they tried to get what was rightfully theirs and everybody hates them for it...

I love Good Times. I think my favorite episodes where the ones with Penny (Janet Jackson) and her mother ( Chip Fields, Kim Fields' mom in real life) when Penny was burned with the iron, the famous "damn, damn, damn" episode ending the James Evans, Sr. character, the one when J.J. was invited to a debutante ball and his date's parents didn't want J.J. to see her because he was from the ghetto and James, Sr. let them have it. I also love the first episode when Florida is at the table upset about the possibility of being evicted and she uses the word "boy" and Michael pipes in saying "boy is a white racist word" and Florida replies, "Michael this ain't no time to be Black." Good Times has had some pretty famous people on that show. As the show moved on, I could see why Esther Rolle wanted to leave the show because the J.J character did become the buffoon character of the show. You could hardly catch him in a serious moment.

Well, it didn't show them grown up but the last episode, Keith (Thelma's husband) had been working out his injured leg and was trying out for the football team again, I believe J.J. was an art executive, Michael was going to live on campus at college, Willona was moving into a better neighborhood which happened to be the same building where Keith and Thelma were moving to and Florida was asked to move in with them because Thelma was pregnant.
