well here's what i'm reading her her blog. not what the original poster wrote. looks like someone paraphrased: 70% of black californianswho voted this cycle voted for prop 8. As they overwhelmingly supported America's first chance to elect a person of color and strike a death blow to racism, they also went out of their way to misuse their votes (no doubt at the behest of their immoral and hateful pastors and clergy) to isolate and punish a small minority of citizens, and to deny them basic civil rights. the more things change, the more they stay the same. I went to her website which is http://roseanneworld.com/blog/ It is similiar: 70% of black californianswho voted this cycle voted for prop 8. But I don't see word n!gger in it |

AND THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT IT IS. AS A CALIFORNIAN WHO VOTED YES ON 8, THE MEDIA IS PISSING ME OFF ACTING LIKE BLACKS VOTED THE WHOLE BILL DOWN. FIRST OF ALL IT WASN'T BLACKS WHO CREATED THIS PROPOSITION, SECONDLY, IT WAS 70% OF BLACK VOTERS, NOT 70% OF THE VOTES WERE BLACK, THIRDLY, THEY ARE TRYING ANYTHING IN THEIR POWER TO RAIN ON OUR PARADE. WHAT ABOUT ALL THE HISPANICS THAT VOTED FOR THIS, WHAT ABOUT ALL THE WHITES THAT VOTED, THEY EACH HAD MAJORITY OF THEIR VOTERS VOTE YES AS WELL. THEY NEED TO QUIT MAKING BLACKS SEEM LIKE THE BAD GUYS IN ALL THIS. They voted to deny over 70,000 californian children coverage of the insurance benefits of their gay parents AND I THINK ROSEANNE IS WRONG ABOUT THE BILL, IT WAS NOT TO BAN THE COVERAGE, THEY ALREADY RECEIVE THAT, IT WAS JUST TO DEFINE THE DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE. CALIFORNIA LAW STATES WE CANNOT DISCRIMINAT AGAINST RELIGION, COLOR, SEX GENDER, OR SEXUAL ORIENTATION. AND THAT'S WHAT COVERS DOMESTIC PARTNERS AND ADPTIVE CHILDREN FOR MEDICAL BENEIFTS. SO THEY ARE RECEIVING ALL THE BENEFITS, EXCEPT BEING CALLED A MARRIED COUPLE. AND TO SAY THAT WE MISSUED OUR RIGHTS IS BULLSH*T. WE EXERCISED THE RIGHT TO OUR OPINION AND SHE JUST DOESN'T AGREE WITH US. NOW SINCE IN MY OPINION THIS IS MORE ABOUT RELIGION, THEN SHE CAN MOVE TO ANOTHER COUNTRY, BECAUSE AMERICA WAS FOUNDED ON CHRISTIANITY, OUR MONEY SAYS IN GOD WE TRUST, IF SHE DOESN'T LIKE IT, THEN SHE CAN WORK AND SEND HER KIDS TO SCHOOL ON XMAS, AND EASTER AND STOP SPENDING OUR MONEY. SHE IS JEWISH RIGHT? THEN IT SHOULDN'T BE AN ISSUE THEN. |

Who is that ridiculous woman? Fact is,she needs to know the facts of the issue and I'm tired of the way Blacks have been scapegoated on this issue, when all facets of society voted yes to the ban. This woman if I'm not mistaken supported Clinton and it's apparent that she was part of that racist white Dem vote.....

I'm wondering where are people such as Maxine Waters and other so called Black leaders in California won't come out and shut down these lies against Blacks. It would be decent of them to come out with the real stats as to all races voted on this issue.....

yeah i wondering why some blacks won't admit to this either. i mean, this very message board shows a majority of blacks who are against it. now for those who wanna say that other groups voted for prop 8 came out in overwhelming numbers, i'd like to see those number. if no one has them then let's just own up to the fact that the majority of blacks are against giving these type of rights to gays. i think it's just a knee jerk response from blacks to just disagree with anything that (they think) makes them look bad. cuz i really don't see why folks are outraged when most are saying that they disagree with gays getting married. *shrug* so what r people mad about?

I'M NOT ANGRY, JUST SICK OF HEARING IT SPUN LIKE WE WERE THE ONLY ONES WHO WERE ALLOWED TO VOTE ON THIS MEASURE. WELL 75% OF BLACKS VOTED FOR THIS BILL, I WILL GIVE YOU THAT, BUT WHAT ARE THE NUMBERS AS FAR AS HOW MANY PEOPLE THAT EQUATED TO? LET'S SAY 1,000,000 WERE BLACK BUT MAYBE 3,000,000 WERE WHITE THAT VOTED YES. SO PROPORTIONATLEY A HIGHER PERCENTAGE VOTED YES, BUT MAYBE IT WAS A HIGHER NUMBER OF WHITES THAT VOTED YES. I'M JUST SAYING. |

NOT all Blacks are against Prop. 8. Because NOT all Blacks are HETEROSEXUAL. And just because SOME Black Californians voted against gay marriage, doesn't mean that the ENTIRE universe of Blacks voted this way. Besides, the media is hoping that Whites will not look too closely at the numbers. If they did, they would see that it was THEIR OWN that voted in overwhelming numbers to put the kabosh on gay marriage. Whites are the majority in that state, followed by Mexicans, and Asians. All of these groups put their weight behind nixing gay marriage. Blacks as a group are a small minority in California. So, their own put them out of business. But beating up on a minority is much dearer to home, so that's what they opted to do. |
