Where are they?  Why aren't THEY being MENTIONED and or POSITIONED?  (Other than Valerie Jarrett who's really not worth mentioning).

Each and every day since the election, all I've been reading are the names of Whites that are being considered, commissioned, appointmented to KEY positions in his adminstration.

Something seems to be "out of place" in the WHOLE scheme of things.

Does this help and you do know that senior adivsor is a more important position than sec of hud or transportation

Dr. Eric Whitaker
Executive vice president at the University of Chicago Medical Center
Yet another intimate from Obama's days at Harvard, from which the good doctor earned a degree in public health. A frequent trail traveler, Whitaker is said to be adept at reading Obama. Think of him as an early warning system for Barack's bad moods.

28. Susan Rice
Senior foreign policy adviser, Obama campaign
She latched onto the campaign early--and took to the airwaves to defend it often. A Rhodes Scholar, former State Department hand, and soft-power evangelist, she opposed the Iraq war--a stance that alienated her from many of her old comrades in the Clinton administration. Because of the longevity of her relationship with Obama, early money had her trodding the path beaten by another African American woman named Rice to national security adviser. But some question whether she's too ideological to play the role of honest policy broker--a concern that might steer Obama toward placing her in a top job at the State Department instead.

Cassandra Butts
Senior adviser, Obama campaign
Funny who you can meet in the financial aid office. During his first year at Harvard Law, Obama hit it off there with Butts. Twenty years later, this Hill veteran (Butts advised Dick Gephardt) signed up as Team Obama's all-around domestic policy guru. Working from her outpost at CAP, she already has played a big role in doling out jobs in Obamaland. Now, one could be coming her way: chief domestic policy adviser.

Eric Holder
Former deputy attorney general of the United States
His role in the pardoning of Marc Rich and the Elián González fiasco made him a favorite whipping boy of the right. But he's racked up serious wise-man points since serving as Clinton's deputy attorney general, getting tapped for all sorts of supersensitive missions--from investigating Michael Vick's dog-fighting for the NFL to co-heading Obama's veep search. Could a Justice Department appointment be far behind? The man known as "The Heartthrob" at U.S. Superior Court during his prosecutor days will need all his charm during that confirmation battle.

I was wondering about Obama's black appointments.  He seems to have alot of blacks on his staff, but I just don't see them in high profile positions.  I wasn't really sure of Jarrett's Rumor racial/ethnic background when he hired her. The latinos said he has to have at 2-3 latinos in his cabinet to get their vote. He does seem to be hiring alot of Chicagoan and Harvard buddies though.
I don't get comments like this. Because Obama is black is he obligated to appoint a lot of black people? Waht if the most qualified aren't black, then what?  I see threads on this board about Obama not addressing black issues or he didn't comment on something done to a black man in the news. Has any other president ever commented on wrongdoings in the news?  Not really.  Everyone has to realize that he is not a President for black people and black issues.  He is everyones president. Black, white, asian and other.  He is not obligated nor does he HAVE to address black issues and suround himself with other AA's in his cabinet.  This is not part of the presidential job description.  He needs to be working to make things better for everyone in the U.S. not just blacks and appoint who is the most qualified.  If he works on whats wrong with our country this will help out blacks as well as other races.
The only thing that seems out of place are politically naive people who feel that a man who is both Black and White owes a Black person a position based on race. First off there are many positions to be  filled and to my knowledge he has only filled 3,if that many............

One of the reasons that I often point out that President Elect Obama is biracial is due to people especially Black people who just can't seem to grasp that he is also white because you take his achievemant as if it's a personal achievement for you personally.....

I hear what you are saying.Obama considers him-self as a black man.He lived a black life and has been treated as a black person, all his days.He attended Rev Wrights church, and yo sho nuff have to be black to sit up in there. There are so many question regarding this psychology of bi-racial,votes saw him as a black man.He is going down in history as the first black president, not the first bi-racial president.Michelle states that she is married to a black man not a bi-racial man.His grandparents raised him as a blackman not a bi-racial man.His kids see him as a black father, not a bi-racial father.

Why should he appoint any African Americans, hes gonna get 95% of your vote for re-election anyway.

You guys can just be "prideful" that hes in HIS position..lolcool

I'm not trying to be funny but I really just don't get why people just refuse to acknowledge who he is..I don't care about all that other stuff you wrote, becuase when I say biracial,I'm talking about his biological make-up,pure and simple,I'm not talking his sociological make-up..........

I realize many Blacks can only accept President Elect Obama as Black for purely selfish purposes but he is indeed just as white as he is Black. I just want a good president,I could care less about the race but I do deal in facts only.

Okay ... let me get this straight? You actually are waiting for his entire cabinet to be BLACK? And Valerie Jarrett IS worth mentioning in a whole lot of ways. Look this sister up. So Black President is supposed to equate to NO WHITE POSITIONS? Did you forget that Whites, Blacks, Hispanics and Asians ALL voted to put this man in office? Out of place would be you thinking that every one of his appointments should go to a Black person. That's out of place. For real.

ferociously  ...... PANK!!!

We have SO FAR to go ... if you get my meaning... it's SAD on so many levels.

I hear you, white america calls him black, black america calls him black, people all over the world calls him black.I hear what you are saying. When you do not look like your biological make up,it makes it harder. When he won the race to be president ,not one paper in the world called him bi-racial,they all said america,s first black president.Black people ARE NOT doing this for selfish reasons. They are proud of him because they know just how smart he is and they worked very hard to get him in the white house. You deal in facts and race is a fact of life in the world.I know people who are jewish and spanish, but they call themselves jewish.Obama is the one who states that he is a black man,and if he is feeling it so are we.I do understand what you are saying, but we have to go along with Obama and he states that he is black

In all fairness I dont think anyone denies his biological make up is black and white..As we all know be now race is a social construct. Hes socially decided to be "black", that is what blacks are so "prideful" about. I personally think the response to his victory was over the top..Black folks act like they won at life..Kinda pathetic..

@all

From the names Ive been hearing most of the major positions will likley be white folks. In fact the highest ranking postion a black peron will be in is probably Attorney General as either Eric Holder or Deval Patrick and even thats a crap shoot.
