I'm so nervous and depressed. The fact that they haven't called VA, IN, GA, and SC is really bothering me.

You really have to look at the county breakdown.  Indiana has most of the rural areas counted but not the Major Cities yet.

Florida has a lead for Obama as of now but; it is early.  The fact that Obama is running a lot better then Kerry did with Bush in the rural areas in Indiana is a positive sign.

Calm down....breathe.
 
Democrats haven't won VA, IN, GA, and SC since 1964 (well, Carter won GA, and SC in 1976).
 
Obama isn't going to win SC.  The fact they haven't called GA for McCain means that the race will be competitive.
 
NOVA hasn't been counted in VA yet...so just calm down.  It is still early in the game.
 
As far as IN is concerned, Gary, Indiana always gets their votes in very late.  So wait for a couple of hours.

You should be worried about Virginia. He will lose South Carolina and Georgia, but if you look at Virginia you see that a lot of these people who voted for the Democrat Warner (White) also voted for McCain. At least according to early results

I'm feeling the same way.  My husband just wants to go to sleep and wake up in the morning when they have a definate winner because he can't take anymore bad news.  He just told me that it's McCain 13, Obama 3.

Thanks for breaking that down. I didn't realize major cities have not been counted.

With the overwelhming turnout of first time voters, whites and blacks voting for Obama, I still have this gut feeling that it will be an upset. I pray that I'm wrong and it's just gas. I am so nervous I can scream.

A lot of the early results are from rural, egg-salad eatin', lily-white areas....
