Agree or disagree with this, folks? Thanks For Your Concern, But Zahara's Hair Will Be Fine By LatoyaPeterson , 4:00 PM on Tue Oct 13 2009, 4,065 views " Zahara Jolie-Pitt and the Politics of Uncombed Hair " epitomizes all of my frustrations with...

So Samuels is black? Either way she raises interesting points in her article.

Yep.  I've read her work before, so I knew she was the minute I read the byline.

Just wanted to post both sides of this coin so that everyone can come to an informed opinion/conclusion.

Yep, Kate Dailey runs that online section of Newsweek.com while Allison Samuels is a senior editor.  (Not sure why they didn't put Samuels' pic up, though...)

The only reason I can imagine for this story getting copy is because of the upcoming release of Chris Rock's documentary however I am somewhat horrified that the follicular state of the head of a 4 year old CHILD is highlighted in Newsweek. Must be a slow news day, right?

I like reading Latoya's work but she shouldn't just poo poo Samuels' article. She raises very interesting and important points. Of course hair is not the most important thing. But hair is important to ALL WOMEN.

White people don't comb their black children hair.  Get USED to it!

White people don't want to be around black people, but they want to raise us.  Interesting...

Whatever white people!

I'm glad this issue is being brought to the forefront regarding Zahara's hair.  Now maybe Angelina will do something about it.  I mean its not that her hair should be put in braids or a press and comb.  But, Z's hair needs to look like at least its been combed which on several occasions it does not.  You mean one of the many nannies that Brad and Angelina have can't grab a afro pick and put Z's hair in a cute little afro??

If Madonna can be aware enough to put Mercy's hair in braids then there's no  excuse for Angelina to have Zahara's hair looking a hot mess!  Then again, Madonna is usually on point with her clothes and hair compared to Angelina who looks like a slob herself when she's out in public with the kids.

I am sorry and maybe wrong for this but will black folks stop worrying about Zaharas hair. Many black parents are failing on a massive scale and all they got the nerve to worry about a rich black girls hair-oh please

Thank you! There are black babies being thrown out of moving cars and some of us are so worried about Zahara's hair being combed!
