HOW BANK OF AMERICA TURNED 5 INTO 285(14)
|
This is a MUST READ!!! Unbelievable! Okay, so there's overdrafting fees, and there's THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE! http://bigrobby.com/random-musings/screw-bank-of-america.html |

I learned many years ago when dealing with Banks period...keep at least $50-$100 cushion in the bank and try not to go below it because that can usually cover any fee you get, granted that screw over they got wouldn't be covered but its rare. I know people who write bad checks to cover bills and then spend the next check after that paying overdraft fees. I have been with BOA since they were Nations bank and only had 1 to 2 bad experiences with them. One was i thought my checking and saving were "connected" meaning if i overdraft one, they would just take it from the other....and they did along with a FEE to click 2 buttons to tranfer funds from one acct ot the other and then she says you can do yourself and it won't cost you anything and I was like "gee thanks AFTER the fact" and someone got my card # from somewhere and bought some tennish shoes in NY and i live in GA but I did manage to get my money back after a couple of weeks. You just learn how to stay out of banks radar because they will charge you a fee for everything possible. I'm still waiting for them to start charging you for using your own ATM card. ![]() |

That's absolutely ridiculous. I learned to stay away from the large corporate banks long ago when I banked with Fleet (also now Bank of America). In my honest opinion, I think credit unions are the way to go. I've been banking with a credit union for over 6 years now and have never had a problem. They're a lot smaller, privately owned by its members and they actually care about their customers. Most people are eligible for a credit union membership based on some factor in their life whether it be where you live, your job, old alumni connections etc... It's definitely worth looking into for most people.

What's all the fuss? Don't overdraw your account and you won't have ANY problems. If you read his article carefully, the banks make millions off of people like him, they're called IRRESPONSIBLE! Overdraw your account for a couple of movies? If people know banks do this then why not be smarter with your money? If you can't afford it, don't buy it. Check your account balance for free online instead of PAYING to see it at an ATM. Banks don't rip people off, people rip themselves off.... simple.

BofA did me a solid about 15 years ago...someone stole my new order of checks from my mailbox, and started writing checks. When I found out my balance was overdrawn, I went to the bank...and not only did they back out those checks and the overdraft fees, but they also backed out the ATM withdrawals I'd made MYSELF for that time period (I didn't ask 'em to...they just did it)...I was a happy Black woman for REAL! LOL!
But I wouldn't bank with 'em nowdays...I'm doing just fine with my HSBC account...BofA has gotten as shady as the rest of 'em. __________ "Born to amuse...to inspire...to delight Gone too soon..."
