NFL Player Plaxico Cheddar Bob Burress(12)

He's lucky he didn't hit an artery. Other than that, he's a damn dummy. Now he has a weapons charge SMH

I find it difficult to empathize with neegrows who carry guns, get shot up in hood clubs, won't show up for practice, wreck motorcylces with millions on the line, beat women, get robbed for flossin in the hood, or get fined for stupidity by the league. Burress is just another example of when black folks shake theirs and dread the watercooler conversations the next day at the office. The sad cliched line "You can't take a n.... out of the hood, but you can't take the hood out the n...!" rings true once again. I'm ashamed of these black athletes, rappers and hoodrat talk show suedo celebrities to tear our race down one stereotype at a time. Seems like 90% of the idiots gettting expelled from college for weed, fighting or something stupid just shows the league needs to cut them. |

i can't disagree with anything u r those guys said but it just proves my point about the lack of using common damn sense. thinking u r above the law and won't get caught means more than u staying your millionaire behind out of situations that could end your career and possible life. i'm sorry i know u like the giants but plax was just another hardhead idiot in my opinion that as big mama would say don't think fat meat is gressy. lol and the sad part is the league is full of young guys who act just like him who haven't been caught up yet. what if he had shot himself and was paralized? his career gone over some ignorant shyt. or he could have shot an innocent club member or his teammate. could go to jail now and be in jail just like vick in on some stupid shyt that could have easily been avoided. a millionaire setting up his homies in a dog fighting biz? yet when the keep it real homies bout to serve time they all sing like usher and the big name guy gets holding the bag cause he was trying to keep it real after he became rich and successful. |

u ain't said nothing but the truth. i find it hard to have sympathy for them cause there have been plenty of examples in their choosen field as to avoid putting yourself into stupid situations but like the other poster said they seem to think it won't happen to them. now after signing for big bucks he has done nothing but clown, got hurt and then he shoots himself on top of that. instead of rehabing and getting back on the field he's in the club and shots himself. just ignorant shyt and sadly it continues to run rampis with our young black men like u said u can take the him out the hood but can't take the hood out of him. where else is he going to be allowed to act like he has no damn sense and collect big time money? just cause he can catch a football his antics have been accepted but what he fails to understand is he can be replaced. |

Seriously, just because these men are proven talented players, are making major money, are role models to thousands and are envied by even more folk, does not mean they have common sense. Common sense is no longer common to everyone. Unfortunately the zeroes on their paychecks do not parlay themselves into brains. They just make for more bravado. I'm a Mom raising several hard-headed children (boys and girls) and while I would have a lot less tolerance for them since I KNOW they know better cuz I taught them better. Plaxico and the like are often dealing with much more than surface stuff. I'm giving him the benefit of a bit of sympathy just like I give to Darryl Strawberry and Dwight Gooden. You never know what folk are going through . . . even if this rough patch is as simple as stupidity.

u r right u never know what someone is going through but lawd rich or poor common sense seems to be lacking in so many people now days. if plax is/was having problems the giants didn't just treat him like a piece of meat they offered him help but he didn't acept it then again he probably didn't have sense enough to realize he needed help. i just hate to see anyone watse an opportunity cause nothing is promised to anyone and some people act like they just don't appreciate things. |

You know, I'm beginning to think that something isn't right with his mental state. I'm hoping there won't be a destructive end for him because at the rate he's going it's only a matter of time. I also hope he gets it together, but he put the lives of others danger as well; I wonder if he even realized that. Some of these athletes (or celebrities in general) think that they can do anything without suffering the consequences because of their status.
