WHo thinks this is a good move for President elect Obama's Administration? Is this his way of appeasing her supporters for not putting her on the ticket?

Hillary Clinton emerges as State dept candidate

CHICAGO (Reuters) – Sen. Hillary Clinton emerged on Thursday as a candidate to be U.S. secretary of state for Barack Obama, months after he defeated her in an intense contest for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Putting Clinton, wife of former President Bill Clinton, in the position could help heal whatever lingering divisions remain in the Democratic Party after her bitter battle with Obama.

what happen to clearing the white house of the same old politicians?

i thought that wass the reason he didn't ask her to be vp.

i rather he succeed or fail trying things his way bring some new fresh ideas and people that the same old people and their lackeys that have been around in public office for years.

I could not agree with you more babyface. I think she wants the Presidency so bad she can taste it. I really dont think she would accept the job. My cousin is trying to convince me that President elect Obama would probably put her on the Supreme Court. I would much rather see John Kerry as Secretary of State. Senator Clinton is too hawkish, and this country really needs to mend fences with the global community.

This only goes to show the amount of money that was kicked into her campaign before Obama showed up from foreign entity , that wanted the Clinton to do their bidding. However ,they lost and now this is their reward to pay back all that money they were given. Sorry i'm on longer fooled by the Clintons. Was there a reason they wanted to hold off showing their tax returns during the election of $109million dollars.

i wasn't critizing him i was asking the question what happen to the message he keep preaching about wanting new people in washington.

especially when he was running against hillary all he kept talking about was her as if she was part of the old politician problems in washington than her being a solution.

I hope she is chosen! What's with all of the hate the Clinton's have been getting from some Blacks? Do people not realize President Clinton is the last great President we've had? Are some of you guys old enough or too young to remember how well the economy was during his administration? Interesting how some of the key players in the Clinton Administration are being picked for Obama's administration.

I don't think her being SoS would be a good idea at this point. Maybe in his NEXT term.

Just because she is considered, does not mean she will be chosen...Nor does it mean she'll want it. She's gonna need to pass the background check, and I mean come on, this is the Clintons were talkin about. Lets say some of her primary monies came from shady connections...that would probably disqualify her based on the guidelines the Obama Transition team...All that aside, if she manages to clear all those hurdles, Hillary would make a fantastic SOS, she does have global credibility...
