Poll Question: What is the Purpose Of "CNN Documentary?
To make Black people look like savages
To make Black Men look irresponsible
To make it look like the Black Race is incorrigible
To try to solve the Problems of Blacks iAmerica
Other - please explain

I pick other, they know race=ratings, and black folks watch too much TV anyway so they will make up a big part of the audience. In cable even if they can get  just 1 mil to watch it is considered high ratings.

This might have been Soledad's idea, I see they took her off the morning show, now she is using her race to make her seem relevant to the network

how would that be important to black america? But i can see your point but what would be the benefit from watching that
..I think some of it has to do with Obama being the next president..they wanna ease some (white) folk into this. Like this is a prep siminar or something..lol...

I don't know the benefit, I didn't even watch it. But I notice black folks like to have these panels talking about how bad we are doing. All they do is preach to the choir and offer no solutions, so I don't watch.
I chose other: Ever since Obama came on the scene white folks are NOW intrigued with us and this is to give Whites some insight into our experiences and who *we are (I don't know if it will show who we REALLY are) and to make white folks feel 'mo comftable' about the reality of a possible black president. That's only my opinion lol.
Did you cathc Our World w/ Black Enterprise over the weekend?  Ed Gordon was talking about how he is sick and tired of that very thing..having all these panels, townhalls and so forth but yielding nothing.  Roland Martin, Chuck D, Al SAharpton and someone from BET were the guest pannelist.
LOL...they dont want that group to go into shock over it all...cuz ya know, we aren't supposed to rise to the top...
Other.  It's fun to talk about black people and it brings in good ratings.

..I kinda chuckled because his show was a pannel with Sharpton as his staple...lol..he was talking about the very thing that he was doing...but the show was heated the lady from BET had a serious tude...lol...

Nope I didn't see it, but I am tired of the same cast of characters who probably haven't been around many black people since they were left high school, talking about whats going on in the community. Cornel West , Mike Dyson are  on every panel, why are they teaching at these schools that are like 10% black, why don't they teach a few semesters at Howard or Spelman or something. They are not hard up for cash.
The panel I saw on CNN had Ed Gordon. Suzanne Malveaux, Hill Harper, and Tom Joyner.  One thing I did like is that they talked about solutions and realizing that the old school answers aren't gonna work with this new generations problems.
...I'm very tired of it all...Roland said that he has his guest come back after 6 months for a check up to see where its going..I think all of these pannels/townhalls need a check up and audit.
All they do is preach to the choir and offer no solutions,THEY DON'T OFFER ANY REAL SOLUTIONS.

i watched it, but honestly I could have watched something else.  I don't really know what to say about it.  I came out feeling indifferent about the discussion.
