Rodney King shot in San Bernardino

Rodney King was apparently shot and wounded on a San Bernardino street corner late Wednesday night before biking home to Rialto to report the incident, police said.

King, the 42-year-old man who gained national fame when his 1991 beating by Los Angeles police was caught on videotape, called Rialto police at 11:39 p.m. to report the shooting, said Sgt. Don Lewis.

He had been struck in the face and arm with a shotgun, Lewis said. King reported that the shooting occurred at 5th Street and Meridian Avenue in San Bernardino, just east of the Rialto city line.

After police arrived at King's Jackson Street home, King and others inside appeared intoxicated, Lewis said, and few were cooperative in providing information.

Rialto officers contacted San Bernardino police to take over the investigation. King was then taken to a local hospital, where his condition is unknown this morning. The wounds were not believed to be life-threatening, Lewis said.

No further information on what caused the shooting was available. Since gaining his fame, King has had several brushes with Inland police agencies, most recently a 2005 arrest on suspicion of domestic violence.

Well...I can give him credit on the bike...he may not have a job and gas is expensive for some................but where he is pushing the petal is what's getting me...Rialto @ night? Sounds like he was on a mission....and someone caught up with him, in a major way...

Maybe one day before he dies, he will learn to keep his mouth shut and his hands clean. Until then, he will always have trouble becausde he still infuriates so many people, not just cops. And MR OJ is due for pretty much the same kind of treatment once the Goldman's get their money, or some of it. Only for him, it's gonna be a one time thing to clean up the pollutuon known as OJ!!!

Squash all the pleasantries about speedy recovery, blah, blah, blah - more importantly I want whatever in the hell he was drinking that allowed him to get shot in the face and arm with a shot gun and then bike home where he then called the police and waited for an ambulance and then they take him to the hospital and HIS ASS IS STILL ALIVE. LOL

Yall know the LAPD waited a whole nother 30 minutes to arrive when they heard it was Rodney King.  LOL  But I need to know what he was drinking and does it come in a pint, 5th, or gallon.  LOL

You would think that after all the drama he went through with LAPD - he'd be cool. But it looks like trouble's destined to follow him.
