James Brown dead at 73 RIP(444)
|
ATLANTA - James Brown, the legendary singer known as the "Godfather of Soul," has died, his agent said early Monday. He was 73.
Brown was hospitalized Sunday at Emory Crawford Long Hospital with pneumonia and died around 1:45 a.m. Monday, said his agent, Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Music. Longtime friend Charles Bobbit was by his side, Copsidas said. The agent said Brown's family was being notified of his death and that the cause was still uncertain. "We really don't know at this point what he died of," Copsidas said |

I'm a huuuuuuge fan of his music and had always wanted to go see him. Something told me that I'd better get a move on it cuz he's getting up there in age so I spontaneously took a trip to Atlantic City to see him this past Memorial Day. It was one of the best concerts I've ever been to and I'm glad I listened to that inner voice.

You were SOOOO lucky! I remember when my Mother saw him in Gary when I was a kid...she was TOTALLY jazzed... Little did we know that his legendary moves would inspire one of the neighbor kids into being a legend himself! Ah, I can barely type now...just dried my eyes after hearing some of is songs on the radio....It's 4 in the damn morning!!! *Sigh* How will these young'uns ever know their musical legacy??? |
