RACIST Michael Richards from Seinfeld"!!(795)

It was just reported on CNN that comedian/actor Michael Richards (Kramer from "Seinfeld") was onstage at the Laugh Factory when some of the Black audience members began to heckle him.  When he asked them what was wrong, they told him that he was not funny.  At that point, Richards went off on the Black audience, repeatedly calling them the 'N' word.  He said that if this were 50 years ago, they would be outside hanging from a tree.  He told them that he was rich and could pay to have them arrested.  He dropped the mike and walked off the stage.  The audience was stunned.

This was just reported, and I'm looking for a link.  If anyone saw this report or can find a link, please post.

My questions are:  Why was Richards allowed back on the stage 24 hours later to do another show?  Will we see the same outcry against Richards that we saw against Mel Gibson when he made anti-semitic comments?

He probably wasn't funny. I never thought Seinfeld or his whole show was funny. But I don't expect any backlash beyond a public apology.

<< But I don't expect any backlash beyond a public apology.>>

I agree.  If he had made racist statements against Jewish people, however, I think we would see a different result.

He probably wasn't funny; however, he didn't want to hear this from Black people.

My questions are:  Why was Richards allowed back on the stage 24 hours later to do another show?

why WOULDN'T he be allowed back on stage?

Will we see the same outcry against Richards that we saw against Mel Gibson when he made anti-semitic comments?

doubt it.

but to be honest, i ain't buyin' it.  it's TOO EASY to roll up in here and post "xyz is a racist" and not provide any proof and then watch the reactionary responses.

Where's the link to this story?
Looking for a link . . .

Because if the Laugh Factory gave even half a damn about its Black audience members, it would have pulled him from the show, or at the very least, asked for a public apology.  If Richards had said to an audience of Jewish people that "If this was the 1940s, you all would be in gas ovens rights now," I can GUARANTEE you, he would not have been allowed back on that stage.  Furthermore, there would have been a major public uproar.  But it's okay for him to suggests that Blacks should be hanging from trees?

So, why the difference, Nappy?

Hell, he's probably a Jew so if it happened he'll get a pass.

sarah silverman has said worse.

i'm still not buying it's an actual fact.   all i'm looking for is proof BEFORE i come to an opinion on it.

So, why the difference, Nappy?

mainly, gibson is not a comedian.

on cnn.com....video..
White people are never going to change. I believed it even before I kept scrolling and saw a link was provided.

I certainly do not want to hear  bullsh@t about my religion or how greedy I am . But this racist garbage how dare he? If people expect so sort of indefatigable  sensitivity on the Holocaust They certainly should show respect to other people. We do not think you are funny does not call for a racist response just as a black comic would be wrong for making anti- Jewish remarks . Plain hatres is just that and should not be tolerated.

If his stage presence is anything like the tv show Seinfeld I can understand why they didn't find his corny ass funny.

wow- that's crazy...Paul Rodriguez was diplomatic, but he didn't deny it either....wonder what it was like for him to follow that lol.

Thanks to those who posted the vidoe and thanks to the OP for starting this thread!

I live out here in Los Angeles, and what Richards said has been the topic of  several weekend radio talk shows and of course, most of the weekend talk show hosts (mostly white or Jewish) are giving Richards a pass on this, but I'm NOT surprised. Some hosts had the nerve to say it's only words, while some are even going as far as to say rappers call black women whores/bit**es all the time in their music.

But then again, these talk show hosts are trying to draw attention AWAY from the matter at hand--Richards using the N-word profusely on stage--this incident is NOT about rappers--It's about RICHARDS and his using the N-word. Oh well, I guess if a rapper ever says something about Jews burning in ovens (which I doubt he/she could get away with for one minute), I guess I could ALSO defend THEM by saying that it's ONLY words, and for Jews to build a bridge and get over it--sort of like like many of these talk show host are saying for African-Americans to do, right?

Now, it would offend me DEEPLY if a comedian of ANY race had said anything about Jewish people being burned in hot ovens--even if it was the funniest joke ever--becasue that was a HORRIBLE incident and a crime against humanity, and not to be mocked in ANY way IMO. But then again, Jews wield a LOT of power in the Hollywood and Los Angeles area, so like I said earlier, I'm NOT surprised that many of the weekend talk show hosts who are not black ARE defending Richards.

OH WELL (lol).....

HOW DO I LOVE THEE?

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and ideal grace.
I love thee to the level of every day's
Most quiet need, by sun and candle-light.
I love thee freely, as men strive for right.
I love thee purely, as they turn from praise.
I love thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints. I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.
