From todays NY POST: Jones getting View Vamoose! May 9, 2006 -- STAR Jones Reynolds has been told to hitch up her hefty wagonload of freebies and waddle off into the sunset, sources say. ABC will announce this week that the big-boned talking head is out at "The View," a source close to the inner workings of the late-morning gabfest tells Page Six. What network brass won't say is that she's being unceremoniously ousted at the direct behest of the show's grand dame Barbara Walters and the incoming Rosie O'Donnell. "It was always Rosie's condition of joining the show, and Barbara agreed to those conditions from the outset," our source said. The network and Jones are now concocting a face-saving scenario in which Jones will be touted as moving on to pursue important new projects. Jones' camp yesterday denied the blustery babbler is going anywhere. "It's 100 percent not true. Where are you hearing this?" a rep for Jones said. A "View" flack echoed that. But those denials come on the heels of reports that Oprah Winfrey's best friend, Gayle King, may be in line to take over Jones' chair on the kitschy coffee klatch. And while publicly, the show says Jones is "welcome" to remain on "The View" as long as she wants, insiders confirmed late last week that her agents are quietly shopping around for a new job for her. There's been bad blood on the set, particularly with co-host Joy Behar. Star was secretly dubbed "Bridezilla" two years ago after she took untold freebies from wedding suppliers in exchange for plugs on the show. And she threw a hissy fit when ABC suits banned her from plugging Payless shoes, which paid for her endorsement. Recently, Jones enraged Walters and her crew by bragging about her dramatic weight loss while refusing to confirm that she'd undergone gastic bypass surgery to achieve it. How Jones' star has fallen - just a few weeks ago, she had hoped to succeed Meredith Vieira as the moderator of the crew. But Walters wasn't going to let that happen because "she hates her. Really can't stand her," a source told us last week. O'Donnell was recruited quickly after Vieira announced she was jumping to "Today." _____________________________________________________________

I remember when the View started years ago. Here in DC they didn't make a slot for it so it used to come on at 1 AM. I used to stay up and watch because I sincerely admired Star Jones. Now I look at her and she's become a celebrity and she's nothing like the person she was when the show started. While I think she's become really over the top over the years, I don't think she deserves to be kicked to the curb the way they are doing. It seems that she's rubbed Barbara the wrong way and she's gonna do all she can to give her the boot. Sadly, Babs needs to realize that without Meredith and Star no one is gonna tune it to see Rosie, Joy, and Elizabeth. That show is DONE.

While I like Star and her ghetto fabulousness, I do remember watching the View and wondering how Star could talk so mean to her boss, Barbara. Do you remember the show where Barbara wanted to put up some "Fat" pictures of Star and Star said "NO, you will not put those pictures up!". There are some other examples but I can't remember, where Star talked mean to Barbara on the air. I know I couldn't talk to my boss that way and still have a job.

Kathy Griffin talked about her appearance on the view in her last comedy special, not the current one, but the last one. She was saying how Barbara was more or less the "Queen" of the show and if you piss off Barbara, then you are through on ever being asked to come back on the show. Kathy had made some crack about Micheal Douglas and katherine Zeta Jones and with Katherine being preggers before they got married. It pissed Barbara off royally, but it was just a joke. Kathy has not been invited back since then! I guess Star played herself and pissed that old witch off and is now out the door!! |

If this is true, Star has no one to blame but herself... she kinda has the attitude now....forgot the haters,,but I visit quite a few boards on the net,,,she is one of the most unliked celeb... about 1% come to her defense, while 99% are bashing her... I believe network brass at ABC are aware of this... Star wants to kiss up to her fake friends and act like she doesn't need the general public... weight loss and her gay hubby have her head swole... |

If Star had told the truth and said, "I had gastric bypass surgery!" then people would have been like..Cool! But, she acted like she did fuggin pilates and used self control and lost 150 pounds. Ain't nobody buying that ISH!!! She made herself become "hated". Carnie Wilson had it and it is No big deal! As much as I hate Rosie, she is right...I would like to see Star get down and do 50 push-ups! Rosie also said that Star was on TV I guess and they were passing out Oreos ore something on the View and Star said, "I can eat one because I have self control!" and Rosie was like, "No. If you ate more than one you would Poop-Soup because of your gastric bypass surgery! Kirstie Alley wsa just voted one of the celebrities that people TRUST!! She lost her 2 pounds a week for a year! So, she gets props!! |

I don't know why Starr thought she was too big -- no --pun intended -- to be cut from the show. Her arrogance and over-the-top behavior didn't help, but this is yet another example of how YTs treat us in the workplace. I have a couple of white friends outside work, but on the gig, I just can't trust them unless they are out of my department/divison. Sad, but true.

bitch. she needs to stop worrying about how Star lost her weight
and take care of her own fat azz.

think it is Star's personal business how she lost the weight, she doesn't own anyone any explanations. People are going to jump to conclusions anyway, so why bother. That would be all fine, well and good if she hadn't written SHINE telling people about how to SHINE, weightloss, love ect.... Let Ruby Dee write a book on making love last or finding your soulmate! Let Kirstie Alley write a book about having to have the mental fortitude to eat 1600 hundred calories a a day for a year...That is credible. Star set up herself as this KNOW ALL BE ALL about weightloss and love and her incisions weren't healed yet, nor would I put much stock in a relationship from courtship to wedding that is not even 3 years old. Come correct, if you are out there trying to be a "LOVE GURU and a WEIGHTLOSS" expert!
