I saw it briefly advertised on Oxygen.  She's really taking her Big Girl Ministry to the masses.  I generally find her quite boring.  I'm not a big girl ....but I get tired of seeing them as the comic relief or sidekick to their thinner/sexier co-star.

Hmm.. it may be worth checking out. I'm still a little apprehensive though, because I rented her stand -up DVD and it was absolutely horrible. I mean not funny whatsoever. Also, I hated The Parkers when it used to come on, the show get very boring to me. I like her as a host for award shows and things, but I'm not sure how i would do with an entire movie of her.

I really like the fact that we are moving away from super skinny being okay.  HOWEVER, I feel like Mo'nique has serious issues when it comes to skinny and fat.  It's almost like she despises smaller women and tries to hide her distaste in jokes.  It also bothers me that movies like this (and Soul Plane and the like) continue to get the green light to get made.  I know there have got to be some better written stories out there.  From the trailer, it looked cheap and low budget.  It really looks like someone filmed it with their Sony Handycam.

I will see it because the commercial looks funny...I am not going to speak negatively about a movie I haven't seen...I thought White Chicks from Marlon and Shawn was going to be horrible, but I saw it and it was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen....

I liked her idea re: the big girl models.  That's a great concept.  They sould do the same for regular sized women and short women too ... LOL.  

But ... Monique can get really irritating with her Skinny B!tches rant ... she doesn't have to degrade other women to 'lift up' herself and others like her.  IMO.

I read Skinny Bitches Are Evil and I was just disgusted.  She really has issues with smaller women.  It's fine to love yourself as you are, but I don't think you have to put down everyone else to raise yourself up.

Exactly.  That's my only problem w/ Monique ... you can't really ask people to not speak negatively against bigger women when you're speaking negatively against another group of women in the process.

You read a lot don't you ... I have a crate of books (mostly fiction, some non-fiction) that I was about to donate to the Friends of the Library.  And my girlfriend gave me a copy of Terry McMillian's The Interruption of Everything and I can get through it ... I think I need the audiobook ... LOL.  Have you read it yet?

I couldn't stand  The Parkers and I thought she was  boring on the Queens of Comedy.  I do agree that she doesn't make a bad host.  I haven't been to the movies in about 2 years and I seriously doubt that this will be the one to bring me back.
