OMG, I was so glad to see pics of her at the King Dinner earlier this month...May she RIP, I'm very saddened by this.

She was very much a strong force in the Civil Rights Movement. She fought long and hard along with her husband Dr. King and continued his legacy long after his assassination. She was a perfect example of a good woman standing by a good man. My condolences goes out to the King family. May God be with her.

Free at last...

Giving Him Something He Can Feel

Philip Michael Thomas and Irene Cara from the 1976 film "Sparkle"

She has done some great work. She pressed on after the tragic events in her life.

May she peace in rest, her job on earth is done.

Rollin wit da homies!!!

No more pain & suffering on this lonely firmament.

RIP

I was just reading about Mrs. King's death before I came into the thread.  Another Queen is gone. My sympathies to all of her family and friends.    The King now has his Queen.  May they both rest in peace.

This is so sad.

May she R.I.P ......my prayers go out to her family....this is so sad...man....

Such a dignified and classy woman.  May she rest in eternal peace.  I always admired her strength, and dedication to the movement, and how she never remarried.  I mean, how can you ever replace a man like Martin Luther King, Jr.?

She will be greatly missed.

I'm almost in tears but I simply cannot be sad because Mrs. King has passed on to be with her husband in a peaceful, eternal life.

She served the world well. Coretta Scott King was everything that we could look for in terms of a strong role model and wife to an extraordinary leader. After her husband died, she did his memory proud. She continued to honor him and represent the movement. She never, ever cheapened herself or her husband's work. Dang, I feel like I might cry but it's because I am so filled with pride for CSK. She lived a full and long life on this earth. She has passed on but her legacy will last for centuries to come. IMO, she was a beautiful human being in every sense of the word.
