Do you know anyone who committed suicide(90)

A close friend of mine killed himself last week ( he hung himself) . He showed no clues of him being sad/depressed/bi-polar. His family & friends are still in shock, we absolutely had no clue that he was hurting inside. Do you know anyone who committed suicide and how did you deal with it? Is my friends soul lost? |

I did. A girl who was one of my closest friends hung herself. She was stressed out by her family, school, she felt inadaquate and the final straw was her boyfriend breaking up with her. When i first heard about it i broked down and cried my eyes out i was so full of rage about it too how people could not know what she was going through but she hid it so well. I don't belive taht the soul is lost not if they prayed before they died. but it was so terrible for me though. i think people who commit suicide only see what's wrong with thier world and not's what right with it and sometimes what's wrong with thier world is so overwhelming hte right stuff in thier world just seems to just blank out. i don 't think she realized how many people cfared about her despite all that she was going thorugh and if she gave us all a chance we could have helped her I COULD have helped her if only i had known

Are you a religious person? To commit suicide is a sin. I would hate to say that youre friends soul is lost but, I would be lying if I didn't. I know someone who tried to commit suicide but failed at doing so. No one knew that he was to that point of taking his life either, much less even depressed about anything. However, his story is really comical so I won't go into too much detail about it. Just pray and ask God for understanding. As you see, some things are out of our control and can only be left in Gods hands. |

A friend of my brother and sister jumped off the Skyway Bridge (St. Petersburg, FL) last year. Apparently, she had recently found out that she contracted HIV from a guy she had been dating. I know sometimes certain situations in life can have you down, but I just don't see myself doing something as drastic as taking my own life. They say the Lord never puts more on you than you can bare and I truly believe that. |

I haven't sleept in a week, everytime I close my eyes I vision him hanging in his closet. He seemed like he had his shyt together, he had one more semester in school then he was going to enter law school. He was so young and gifted, so many people loved him but I guess for some reason he felt alone. He recently broke up with his girlfriend but he seemed OK with it. He hid his pain well .

most suicides do i almost commited sucide once nobody had a clue most of hte time you never know cause they way they see it they going thorugh this alone and nobody would understand, so they get to the point where they think death is the only way out and it's not. i suggest you talk to somebody about this not a cousneler but somebody who can help you through the grief process and pray or whatever write in a journal if it helps write a letter to him explainging why even get mad whatever just proccess it okay :) There is beauty in the sun, beauty in the sky, in the earth cherish MOther for who she is

My cousin hung herself four years ago. Apparently she had been raped at 7 years old by a family member (who is not my family member) and couldn't tell anybody. She was always real quiet and to herself. She hung herself. She wrote a 4 page letter explaining why she did what she did. Her father was the one who found her. |

My Father shot his self in the head 3 years ago. There were sign's my father was depressed because he drank all the time. that was his answer to every problem was to drink. I loved my father very much and I wish he knew that he could have went for help and it didn't mean he was weak because he asked or went for help. How I dealt with it is I talked about it with anyone who would listen. I still deal with it every day it could be a song, a smell, funny enough Eddie Murphy laugh sounds so much like my fathers and I cry then it passes. and I go on with life. and as far as as soul being lost some people say that. but I don't believe it. maybe for my own heart and belief I must feel his soul is in heaven.

Sorry to hear that. Was he a young person if you don't mind my asking. But if you and everyone else thinks back on it, you will likely see many clues that were overloked. That is, if he killedhimself. Missed because everybody was so intent on trying to keep him smiling/laughng/being happy, and failed to recognize how he was really feeling. And really, I wonder if it were really suicide, just as I think that about Dungy's son. Perhaps he was trying to play that choking game, and it went too far, or someone else did it to him. If he were suicidal, he would have been saying goodbye to everyone in so many ways. He would have been giving away his prized possessions.He would have possibly left a note. No, I'm not a psychologist or anything related to that field, but I've seen and read a lot about this choking game, as well as how suicides act. It's not just a spur of the moment act. This is something people have in their minds for awhile, and anybody paying attention, would have noticed. And no, I don't personally know of anyone who did this to themselves. May he R.I.P. |

My brother Al, March of 1996. The whole week until his funeral, I dreamed that he kept coming to me and telling me not to tell anyone. What it meant, I don't know! In one dream he took me to the accident where he was, and showed me his mangled up body. Sorry if I'm offending anybody... my brother/my boo!!!!!

my cousin committed suicide and it was so hard especially for my dad because he was just getting very close to him. I just prayed for the lord to have mercy on his soul but i know taking of ones own life is a sin that can never be forgiven. i just pray and live everyday to its fullest. Appreciate and love your life and all of its faults and good things. I used to want to end it alll but God is a powerful God and i now realize i have a major purpose for my life and im thankful everyday. I hope that helps.

I knew about 3 people in middle school/ high school who committed suicide and when it's a young person, teens usually take it pretty hard. There were counselors who counseled students and alot of tears; that's about how we dealt with it. I have a cousin whom HPD claimed committed suicide, but there is an investigation still pending. From what I got from the story is some female gave them a tip that someone had alot of money in an apartment, so they robbed the place. They heard police cars and ran; my cousin ran into someone's storage area in the apartments. The cops say that they found him in the storage area and he shot himself. There were 4 shots that were heard. After my cousin's funeral, a cop saw my aunt and told her to investigate because it was all wrong. That was pretty depressing. I saw my cousin about 2 weeks before that happened at a club Maxs while we were in line waiting to get in. It was crazy because I hadn't seen him in years, so we exchanged numbers and said that we would go to lunch. We never had that lunch.
