Did anyone see the Hopkins-Taylor fight Saturday? Well R. Kelly did the National Anthem. He did an uptempo rendition and was ad libing and telling the audience to clap their hands. I have to admit that it sounded good.

I didn't see although I did hear about it which was plenty for me.

Steppin to the Star Spangled Banner, trying oh so hard to top Marvin Gaye's classic one of a kind rendition....No thank you.  I did not need to see this mess.

That's what they were doing too. There was two couples stepping in the ring. Everyone else was swaying back and forth and clapping.

I heard Marvin's Gaye version, and I know everyone loves it. But it just didn't move me. Sounded great but didn't move me.

I'm in a complete agreement with you.  The man needs help but he and all of his supporters are in complete denial.  They want to blame the young girls and consider him just a victim of his lust, not a person with an illness.

I saw that on Saturday and while I thought the beat was ok and I could see what he was going for, he gets NO love from me.  Being in Chicago we been waiting for this fool to get locked up for a while.  When I was in high school he had just signed with his first group and since he was alum they would come and perform for our music classes and get feedback.  If you were cute and could sing (just a bit) you were asked to be a "background singer".  EVERYBODY knew what was up but they turned a blind eye because he was "making it" 

I remember thinking on Saturday "Why are they stepping to the National Anthem"? and I almost cried laughing at the reaction of the crowd and this older white man that was sitting there looking like he was about to have a heart attack.

Hell if he didn't go to jail before his azz is going for SURE now that he messed up the white people's national anthem LOL

I told my husband the same thing. They are going to get him now, he got away with peeing on that child, but he done really crossed the line now. Stepping and asking the crowd to "clap yo hands" during the national anthem???  He is going down!!!
