NEW YORK - Add Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and his wife to the growing list of celebrity bust-ups.

Edmonds and his wife Tracey issued a statement Wednesday announcing the end of their marriage after 13 years. They have two young children. The pair said they had already been unofficially separated “for quite some time.”

“It is with deep regret that we announce our permanent separation. We remain best friends,” said the couple, who have also produced movies and television shows together, including “Soul Food.”

“(We) will continue to work together in our companies, and our various business ventures,” the statement said. “More importantly, we are parents of two wonderful children, and will continue to provide a loving, caring and stable environment for them.”

Besides his career as a best-selling crooner with hits including “Whip Appeal” and “Change the World,” Edmonds has also written top hits for Whitney Houston, Mary J. Blige, Mariah Carey, Bobby Brown and others.

i heard that they were separated some time ago, also that she was cheating with some athlete, from the donnie simpson show. babyface and tracey got all huffy about it and attempted to sue huggy lo-down(a d.s. personality) now, now, the truth comes out (if this is true :-)

i hope those lil boys will be ok :-(

i honestly thought they were already divorced. i wonder why they called it a "permanent separation" as opposed to saying they are getting divorced. hmm...

i do not suffer from insanity. in fact, i rather enjoy it.

I agree, this has been over a looooooooong time ago.

A friend of mine in the industry went to a charity event with them here in Los Angeles, and she told me that almost everyone noticed them that night because they weren't even sitting next to or near one another and that was well over a year ago and people also noticed that they barely spoke during this 21/2 hour gala event. Yep, it was over 2 years ago because their 'behavior' towards each other was strained, negative and very much noticed, even back then!

I believe they say there is always a message in the music...but on this case.... I think it's hard to tell which one the message is really playing for!
