Bride Chidi Ogbuta of Allen, Texas had this life-sized wedding cake made to look just like her for her September 2007 wedding. These amazing pics are just making the rounds of the Internet now. I don't know how it took so long, because this cake is incredible! I love it. I think it came off well, and I give her props for such an unusual cake and dress.

Both great ideas had the potential to come off very tacky, but I think the results are actually positively dazzling. Would you agree?

IMAN'S GLOBAL CHIC for the Masses

Posted Dec 13th 2007 4:00PM by Angela Bronner
Filed under: Fashion Victim, Lifestyle, Style and Beauty, Style Spotter

By Marcia A. Cole, Courtesy of Ambermag.com

Iman, CEO of IMAN Cosmetics, has entered the fashion game with the launch of IMAN's GLOBAL CHIC Collection, an accessories line done exclusively for HSN. Here, she shares the inspiration behind each item and provides tips on how you can rock her collection like a global star.

Iman for GLOBAL CHIC

It's a cold rainy afternoon in mid-town Manhattan and Iman, CEO of IMAN Cosmetics, is standing sparkling bright like a New Year's celebration. She wears a gold sequined Tory Burch cardigan that covers an American Apparel white tee tucked inside Earnest Sewn boot-cut jeans.

Iman's Global Chic Collection Patent Leather ToteShe stands poised and polished in four-inch Sergio Rossi strappy platforms. Blue smoky shadows frame her eyes, a hint of gold illuminates her brow-bone and her cheeks and lips are kissed with a bronze hue.

Not the exact picture of a mogul.

But then again, Iman, wife of rock star David Bowie, and mother of two, is no typical businesswoman.

The makeup maven who dared to place the beauty of women of color on a high pedestal with formulations that are not only spot-on in regards to complementing the subtle shades of light, medium and deep complexions, but are also technologically sound, is ready to bet on another chance: That women everywhere would want a piece of her personal style.

BET Hip-Hop Awards: You Don't Know Bout Her

Arnold Turner, WireImage.com

While the BET hip hop awards were held on October 13th in Atlanta, it's never too late to give a fashion round up of some of these timeless outfits. It's taken me a while to wrap my head around what I have been seeing here. It seems that tom-foolery, like true grace, will never go out of style.

Lil Mama struts her stuff rather proudly, wearing the accessories for many different successful outfits rolled into one. Too bad none of them are the right ones for this one.

New Tech Accessory: The Beyonce Phone

Posted Oct 18th 2007 1:18PM by Alexis Stodghill

James Devaney, WireImage.com

Beyonce
has just released her own version of the most important fashion accessory: the sleek cell phone. Her new B-phone through Samsung will feature Beyonce ringtones and a special song on it just for buyers of the phone. Just when you thought her media onslaught had not one more cranny for exploitation, somehow Mommy and Daddy Knowles came up with something. I like her dress though, and it seems that she has backed off of the brown lace-front. Wonder why?

Best Bronzers

From Ambermag.com:

"Bronzer is a quick fix for reviving a dull complexion or adding a little luminosity to the skin," says Mylah Morales, the makeup artist behind Bajan singer Rhianna's gilded glow. Available in powders or lightweight liquid formulas -- for face or body -- today's bronzers, like the ones we tried, tested and feature here, offer color and protection as most are filled with conditioning ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E to add sheen while hydrating the skin.
