On Oct. 29, a bold new TV series of specials will hit the syndicated airwaves titled 'Shaken Not Stirred.'

Billed as an "uproarious show with 'Vegas Style' flair," the MyNetworkTV show mixes up old-school style roasting with edgy night time talk. The combination is a full-hour of straightforward and sexy, no-holds-barred comedic fun with some of today's most popular and controversial celebrities.

First up is celebrated civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton. And sharp-tongued comedic personalities Anthony Anderson, D.L. Hughley, Paul Rodriguez and John Salley have been tapped to do the honors.

But Sharpton has never been one to take no tea for the fever and in his true Brooklyn native form, he realizes that in order to give, you must be able to receive. No one can out-talk the man known as Rev. Al. And during the hour-long show, he talks candidly about his years as an activist as well as some insightful and humorous revelations about his upbringing.

Following a weekend of tragic events for actress and singer Jennifer Hudson, Chicago authorities have confirmed Monday afternoon that the body found in the back of a white SUV early Monday morning on Chicago's West side, is indeed Hudson's missing nephew Julian King.

According to the Chicago Tribune, law enforcement sources are reporting that King was shot multiple times in the back of the vehicle. Police are currently testing the clothing of a man in custody for gunshot residue.

Over the weekend, police issued an Amber Alert for Hudson's seven-year-old nephew who has been missing since the singer's mother and brother were found murdered in their Chicago home Friday. Authorities asked people to look out for a 1994 white Chevrolet Suburban with Illinois license plate X584859.

By Karu F. Daniels, BlackVoices.com

October 27, 2008 -- This is an update of earlier stories. For the latest pictures from the this developing story, see the photo gallery below.

Family members of Academy Award-winning actress/singer Jennifer Hudson have been shot in Chicago.

According to CBS affiliate WBBM-TV, Hudson's mother was found fatally shot in a South Side home on Friday.

The Chicago Fire Department confirmed that two adults were found dead in a home at 70th Street and Yale Avenue.

Willie Davis, pastor of the family's church, Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist, confirmed that 57-year-old Darnell Hudson Donerson was one of the victims.

A brief statement released by Jennifer Hudson's publicist acknowledged her mother's death, and confirmed that the other body was that of Jennifer Hudson's brother, 29-year-old Jason Hudson. A cousin, who lived nearby, reportedly discovered the bodies.

More details have surfaced.

"This is a very sad day to get that kind of news," Davis said. "This is really going to be a major, major blow to such a wonderful person ... But we know through our faith in God she'll get through it."

He also said to the CBS station that the J Records recording artist's relationship with her mother was "very close."

The 'Spotlight' singer was expected to arrive in Chicago from Florida.

The shooting is believed to be domestic. Read Popeater's account for more details.

Meanwhile, an Amber Alert has been issued for a boy, believed to be Hudson's 7-year-old nephew Julian King (pictured right) who may have been taken from the scene. Police are looking for 1994 white Suburban with the license plate X584859.

Saturday evening Hudson's sister Julia Hudson held a press conference at Chicago's Pleasant Gift Missionary Baptist Church, pleading for the return of her seven-year-old son.

"All I ask, I don't care who you are, just let my baby go," she said. "I just want my son back. He doesn't deserve this."

In addition to Hudson's sister holding a press conference, the Academy Award-winning actress spoke out via her MySpace blog on Sunday, thanking fans for their prayers and calls.

"Thank you all for your prayers and your calls," the posting read. "Please keep praying for our family and that we get Julian King back home safely. If anyone has any information about his whereabouts please contact the authorities immediately. Here is a picture of Julian and what he was last seen wearing. Once again thank you all for being there for us through this tough time."

Later Sunday evening the Hudson family released a statement announcing a $100,000 reward for Julian King's return. The family asks that all inquiries be directed to the Chicago Police Department, Area 1 Detective Division at (312) 747-8380.

What If Hollywood Cast Election 2008?

In a daring and courageous (and very tongue-in-cheek) move, BlackVoices.com brainstormed the idea of casting a movie based on the historical presidential election of 2008. FYI, we disqualified any SNL actor and those who've already portrayed the Election 08 crew (sorry Tina).

In doing so, we made some casting choices, posing the question: who should portray whom?

We made our choices. But of course, our loyal readers may think otherwise.

So after you peruse the gallery below, please tell us who would be your top picks. And don't forget to check out Moviefone's Best Movie Presidents Poll.

Usher, Melody of the Pussycat Dolls, 50 Cent and Ludacris are still hoping their celebrity stamp of approval will entice young people to get to the polls and vote in the upcoming presidential election.

Washington State University recently published a study showing that celebrity driven voter initiatives from the likes of Diddy and Beyonce Knowles have played a part in increasing the number of new voters between the ages of 18-25.

The demographic represents 44 percent of newly registered voters in the study and if those numbers prove correct then the presidential candiadate with the most endorsements – which would be Barack Obama at this point- has a great shot at getting the youth vote.

This year's 'BET Hip Hop Awards' turned into the BET Weezy Awards when it was held last weekend in Atlanta as multi-platinum rapper Lil Wayne walked away with four of the night's awards.

Nominated for 12 categories, the 'A Milli' lyricist beat out the likes of Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z, and DJ Khaled for the "MVP" award while being named "Alltel Wireless People's Champ" and "Lyricist of the Year."

While accepting his award for "Lyricist of the Year" Weezy (as he is known) shocked the crowd when he revealed that he's expecting his new born son in just a "couple of days."

Prior to the show, which airs on the basic cable network Oct. 23, the pint size rapper shared his thoughts on being nominated for so many awards. "These awards have been wonderful, especially when they call my name," he said. "That's the best part about them. Twelve nominations - I think the only categories I'm not in are the female categories."

Lisa Bonet: Pregnant With Third Child

By Karu F. Daniels, BlackVoices.com

Zoe Kravitz is about to become a big sister – again.

The budding actress/model's mother, Lisa Bonet, has announced that she is pregnant with her third child.

"I'm seven months and I feel great," the beloved star of 'The Cosby Show' and 'A Different World' told PEOPLE magazine. "I've had a tremendous amount of energy, which is lucky, because I have a 14-month-old."

A Different World

Where Are They Now: A Different World
'A Different World' remains the only television sitcom to showcase life at a Historically Black College and University (HBCU). What was originally created as a spin-off of 'The Cosby Show' became a launching pad for a who's who of African-American actors and even is believed to have boosted the enrollment at black universities. The show aired for six seasons on NBC from 1987 to 1993. BlackVoices.com takes a look back at some of the faces of 'A Different World' and how their careers after the show.

    Lisa Bonet: Denise Huxtable
'A Different World' was created as a spin-off to 'The Cosby Show,' which follows the family's daring daughter Denise Huxtable to college. At Hillman, Denise was Dwayne's crush and a friend to Jaleesa and Maggie and oftentimes an ally to the overly spoiled and sometimes obnoxious Whitley. Unfortunately, after the first season with her real-life pregnancy it was impossible to have her in the show without ruining her good girl image.

    Lisa Bonet: Denise Huxtable
Bonet returned to the fifth season of 'The Cosby Show' from Africa with a husband and step-child. Over the years after 'Cosby,' she has appeared in films like 'Biker Boyz,' 'Enemy of the State' and 'High Fidelity.' Her daughter with Lenny Kravitz, Zoe, is also an actress. Last year, she gave birth to another daughter named Lola with actor Jason Momoa. In addition to appearing in the upcoming Coen Brothers film 'Gambit' next year, she will star in a new ABC series 'Life of Mars' which is expected to premiere this fall.

    Marisa Tomei: Maggie Lauten
Marisa Tomei appeared in the first season of 'A Different World' as Maggie Lauten, one of Denise's two roommates. Maggie remains one of only two white characters featured in a starring role on the series.

    Marisa Tomei: Maggie Lauten
Following her stint on 'A Different World,' Marisa Tomei transitioned to Hollywood. In 1993, the Brooklyn, New York native won an Oscar for her memorable performance in the comedy 'My Cousin Vinny.' Earlier this year, she appeared on Broadway in a play called 'Top Girls.'

    Jasmine Guy: Whitley Gilbert
Whitley Gilbert reportedly was originally slated to appear in just the pilot episode but became so popular that with Lisa Bonet's exit she became the show's star and remained that for all six seasons. A super spoiled southern belle, Whitley was quirky, funny and loveable all at the same time. Her on-again-off-again relationship with Kadeem Hardison's character, Dwayne Wayne, became the focus of most of the series in later years.

    Jasmine Guy: Whitley Gilbert
Jasmine Guy continues to make a name for herself as a renaissance woman. A former Alvin Ailey dancer, the Boston, Massachusetts native starred in the Broadway musicals 'The Wiz,' 'Grease' and 'Chicago.' She also released an album on Warner Bros. Records and starred in a few movies, most notably 'Harlem Nights' and 'School Daze.' Her television credits, following 'A Different World,' include 'Melrose Place,' 'Living Single,' 'That's So Raven,' and 'Dead Like Me,' to name a few. Recently pursuing divorce after nearly ten years of marriage -- Guy penned a biography on rapper Tupac Shakur's mother Afeni Shakur called 'Evolution of a Revolutionary' and helped establish the Turks & Caicos Film Festival, along with actress LisaRaye McCoy Misick.

    Kadeem Hardison: Dwayne Wayne
Before crushing on Denise in the first season of 'A Different World,' Kadeem Hardison turned up on an episode of 'The Cosby Show' as one of Theo's friends. Dwayne Wayne matured over six seasons from a nerdy and immature freshman to a poised professor. His pop-up glasses became iconic in their own right and everyone cheered for him to choose Whitley as his true love.

    Kadeem Hardison: Dwayne Wayne
Kadeem Hardison has appeared in a variety of television shows following 'A Different World.' Most recently, he played 'American Idol' winner Fantasia Barrino's father in her Lifetime biopic, 'Life Is Not A Fairytale.' Earlier this year, he appeared in the romantic comedy 'Made of Honor.' In his personal life, Hardison was once married to singer Chante Moore (her hit single "Chante's Got A Man" was about him), with whom he has a daughter. His mother Bethann Hardison is one of the fashion industry's most respected voices; a former model, she also managed the careers of Naomi Campbell and Tyson Beckford.

    Dawnn Lewis: Jaleesa Vinson
Jaleesa Vinson, played by Dawnn Lewis, was a young divorcee and the older student of the bunch. She was Denise Huxtable's freshman year roommate. Jaleesa dated Walter, played by Sinbad, and later married Col. Bradford "Brad" Taylor, played by Glynn Turman. A little known fact is that the Brooklyn, New York native co-wrote the show's theme song.

Yaya DaCosta: Life After 'Top Model'

By Bridget Bland, BlackVoices.com

It's been four years since Yaya DaCosta gained a reputation as being a high-maintenance and overly confident aspiring model on the third cycle of Tyra Banks' hit reality show 'America's Next Top Model.' And although she made it all the way to the finals -- losing the coveted title to Eva Pigford, the Harlem-bred beauty still has good reason to hold her head up high and smile.

While many of the 'Top Model' winners have yet to find fame in modeling, acting or otherwise, the 26-year-old thespian has starred in a movie opposite Antonio Banderas ('Take the Lead'), appeared in commercials for very popular brands (Garnier Fructis and Dr. Scholl's) and just wrapped a critically-acclaimed run just a stone's throw from Broadway in 'The First Breeze of Summer.'

The 'New York Times -- considered the authority on professional theater -- has praised DaCosta's theatrical debut opposite the legendary tour-de-force, Leslie Uggams, with flattering remarks like "sharp" and in "exquisite form" in the Signature Theatre Company's revival of Leslie Lee's beloved Negro Ensemble Company work.

Not bad for the beauty who seems to be carving out a niche of becoming one of the most successful contestants in the show's lengthy history.

"The first time that the world sees you it holds a lot more weight for the public than it does in your own life, and for me [Top Model] is one of many experiences," DaCosta told BlackVoices.com. "I'm grateful for the show because I learned a bunch of things but it didn't have much to do [with] what I'm doing right now."

As the myth goes; "people die in threes," which oddly enough happened last weekend in the entertainment world.

Not only did we lose Four Tops frontman Levi Stubbs, who died Friday in his sleep at the age of 72, we also lost soul singer Dee Dee Warwick and comedian Rudy Ray Moore also passed away over the weekend.

How bizarre!?

Warwick, the younger sister of Dionne Warwick and cousin of Whitney Houston, died Saturday at the age of 63 in a New Jersey nursing home.

Family spokesman, Kevin Sasaki stated Warwick died Saturday at a nursing home in Essex County. She had been in failing health in recent months, he said, and her sister was with her when she died.

Currently on his first tour in six years, the crooner recently debuted 'Pretty Wings,' 'Bad Habits' and 'Comb' during his New York City tour stop at Radio City Music Hall. The tracks are expected to make the final cut of the singer's forthcoming album 'Black Summers' Night,' which has yet to be given a release date. When it came to the concept for 'Pretty Wings,' the singer revealed that "it's about wanting to be with somebody but meeting them too early." Fans may want the sex symbol to release his highly-anticipated album 'Black Summers' Night' sometime in the near future. In the meantime, Maxwell will be on the road until November 23, where his tour ends in New York City.

    10/16/08: Diddy / Frank Sinatra
No one on television has swagger quite like Sean "Diddy" Combs! The music mogul has so much style and grace that he has decided to incorporate The Rat Pack into his new commercial for Ciroc Vodka. The 30-second black and white clip, which was filmed at Frank Sinatra's former Hollywood home, features Combs mingling amongst a small group of friends during a private dinner party. The association between Ciroc's brand and Sinatra's lifestyle was a no-brainer when it came to Diddy's idea. "Frank Sinatra is one of my heroes. It was truly an honor to have had the opportunity to use Sinatra's work and home for this campaign," he said. "He defined sophisticated celebration as a lifestyle a generation ago. I couldn't imagine a spirit more appropriate for such occasions today than CIROC, a brand that has become synonymous with celebration."

"I switched up my lyrics a little bit to ride the beat in a different way," he revealed to 'MTV News.' "The beat is slower, a little more R&B-ish. Swizz slowed up the beat a little bit. T.I. did a different verse [from Andre 3000's], obviously. It's kind of a different record, but it still has an element of the original." In today's digital age rumors tend to spread faster than a California wildfire--which was the case for a story involving Stevie Wonder.

Early Thursday morning various media outlets reported that the Grammy Award-winning icon was "utterly devastated" after his Los Angeles residence was destroyed due to the current wildfires that are ravaging in California.

Allegedly a source close to Stevie told The New York Post's Page Six that, "all of Stevie's memorabilia, photos, musical instruments, history, clothing, furniture, everything," were destroyed in the blaze.

"It's all gone," the source said. "It was his main residence and he is utterly devastated. Stevie's had to put his tour and appearances on hold while he deals with this."

However, on Thursday afternoon the 'My Cherie Amour' singer released a statement dismissing the false reports.

Diahann Carroll: Setting the Record Straight About Her Life, Her Loves And Her Breast Cancer

When it comes to soul surviving, very few entertainers know it like Diahann Carroll knows.

The Bronx, New York born actress is a diva of the highest degree – but don't let her hear you say that. It's a term, according to the August 2008 edition of Vogue, the Tony and Golden Globe Award winner equates to "trash."

In her new memoir, 'The Legs Are The Last To Go: Aging, Acting, Marrying, and Other Things I Learned the Hard Way' (Amistad/Harper Collins), Carroll and all of her splendid grandiosity is on full display, warts and all. And that turns out to be a good thing.

Having starred in the first network sitcom – 'Julia' – revolving around a black woman in 1960s, Carroll went on to gain even more notoriety for playing "the first black 'bitch' in prime-time" in the 1980s.
