Tome Talk: Omarosa Talks Sarah Palin, Naomi Campbell, Spencer Pratt & others

Omarosa

Most reality TV stars fade into oblivion shortly after their season airs.

Not the case with Omarosa, the breakout star of 'The Apprentice' who has remained a constant in the entertainment business four years after her stint on Donald Trump's reality series.

The 34-year-old, Youngstown, Ohio-native (full name: Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth) has now written her first book, 'The Bitch Switch: Knowing How To Turn It On and Off' (Phoenix Books) that was released on Oct. 14.

The tome is described as a "must-read for every woman who aspires to succeed in relationships, in business, and at home."

Shortly after her recent book signing at Busboys & Poets in Washington, DC, I caught up with Omarosa, who has a new reality series in development with Trump.

The divorced star of NBC's 'Celebrity Apprentice,' who was recently roasted at New York City's historic Friars Club's 'So You Think You Can Roast!?' event, addressed the backlash she received from talk show host Bonnie Hunt and determined the bitch factor of some prominent female notables.

Before we talk about your book, you have to address this Bonnie Hunt issue. She took some digs at you during the premiere of her daytime talk show recently.

My first reaction was Bonnie-who said what! I had never met her personally and didn't know she had a daytime talk show. It was just unusual to see that she sent out a massive press release to all of the media to announce her attention to insult me on the show. I don't like when women pick a fight with me theOmarosa & Paul Mooneyy can't possibly win. It's just a losing venture so why even start it. She's not sharp enough. I'm too clever and much smarter than she is.

Many say that your infamous fight with Wendy Williams during her talk show trial run helped that show get picked up. Do you think Bonnie Hunt is trying to use you to stay on the air?

I can appreciate that people can see the results of the 'Wendy Williams Show.' When I was on, her show was fledgling and she booked me, she pulled her stunt and then she got green-lit. People do really try to utilize the fact that I am a ratings go-getter and then they try to exploit that. Even with my magic touch I don't think I can save the 'Bonnie Hunt Show.'

Well let's examine the 'Bitch Switch' of some notable personalities. Let's start with Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.

I don't even know if she realizes that she is the vice presidential nominee. I have never seen someone who is so detached from such an important process. It is almost as if she's treating this vice presidential nomination like it's a vacation from her real life. Her bitch factor is very, very low. I'd put her in the Barbie category. She reminds me of Barbie because she's always smiling, doing the right thing with the right accessories but really getting nowhere.

How about Senator Hillary Clinton?

Hillary Clinton is in my book. I talk about my desire for her. I wish she would have turned her 'bitch switch' on and turned it up way high when she was running for the nomination. It seemed like she was trying to find herself and if I can use the analogy of a dimmer switch; it was almost as though she was trying to find the right mood with the country by tuBook Coverrning it up a little bit, turning it way down, testing that, and it really just didn't work for her.

What about supermodel turned talk show host Tyra Banks?

Tyra got some wires crossed or something. Tyra can be the cool, cool, cool sista and then she can be that girl who lacks self-esteem. And I saw that when she went toe-to-toe with Naomi Campbell on her own show. Naomi, who has her bitch switch turned up as high as you can, took over Tyra's show and made her look ineffective.

What about Madonna? How does she use her switch?

Madonna has the super-sexy bitch going. She's got the 'bitch switch' that she uses as a weapon. She really has it figured out. And with her divorce, her bitchiness is already coming out. I think she called Guy Ritchie an idiot. I can see her turning her 'bitch switch' all the way up. I also give a disclaimer in my book about misusing your bitch switch. I hope she doesn't misuse her bitch switch in this divorce proceeding.

Does Barbara Walters effectively utilize her 'bitch switch?'

Barbara's 'bitch switch' is very situational. When that Star Jones thing was going on she had her 'bitch switch' set high. Unfortunately, with the Elizabeth Hasselbeck situation she doesn't seem to be using it very often.

Who is the bitchiest female celebrity?

Naomi Campbell by far is my favorite. There's no question! She iOmarosas the quintessential example of the bitch of wheels, the bitch on heels, and the hurricane on heels.

Who is the bitchiest male star?

The guy who dates Heidi Montag. That guy from 'The Hills.' Spencer Pratt. Yeah, I met him at Christian Audigier's house, the guy who does Ed Hardy. He was definitely probably the bitchiest man I've ever met.

And who needs to turn their 'bitch switch' on?

That would be Jennifer Aniston. I call her a doormat. When you let Angelina Jolie come in and steal your man from you right from under you, right from under your eyes, you need to read my book. She would still be married to the finest man on the planet if she had read my book.

1. I admire Omarosa. She is smart and very confident. It seems nothing knocks her off her yellow brick road. I'll buy her book. And not that the mark down price either. At the full selling price. I have to give her credit. She markets her talent of being a bitch. What's wrong with that?!!

2. This is a sad case of not knowing when the your 15 minutes are over. This is not strength or smarts at all.

Charden at 4:43PM on Oct 30th 2008

3. I don't care what they say about her, Omarosa has earned her crown and she should wear it proudly. After fighting my way to the top in my industry I learned by trial and error what my "switch" is and how to use it. She's dead on with all her dissection of the ladies in your article and I wish her the best of luck. I believe her background is in PR and she's good at what she does, we're still talking about her 4yrs after "The Apprentice" aren't we, and how many business people period, can say they have a close friendship with The Donald? You go girl! I for one, will buy her book, and copies for my friends that are still learning how to use their "Switch"

4. I'm sorry, but her 15 minutes of 'lame' have long since expired. Time to move on, Omarosa.

Dave Lewis at 8:39PM on Oct 30th 2008

5. Who cares about Omarosa and her book!! Having that book of hers means she's still trying to milk her 15 minutes of fame for all it's worth! It's really sad she has to show what a total ass she is! If being a bitch is all that she can accomplish, then she needs to lose that attitude of hers or she's going to find herself where her mouth is going to write the check her ass can't cash!

Brian at 8:42PM on Oct 30th 2008

6. Another pretty face on TV who doesn't know anymore about anything than the hair on my ass. 91% say no thanks to your sorry book. Bye bitch.

9. What a worthless piece of *&%%, this woman has never had anything worth while to offer anything or anyone, and it all started long before that little piece of sheetrock hit her on the head. Your fifteen minutes are up!

14. Go over to "White Voices" today. They have some good articles this evening.

Hutch at 11:02PM on Oct 30th 2008

15. She is smart and has a lot of nerve. In todays world women need to learn to identify and use this switch. Because being nice doesnt always work and because flipping that switch can also save your butt or get people off you. For me, Finesse is the key
