It's true, these are very tough times. Take the example of Beaulah Barton. She was enjoying her retirement in the quintessential adult community better known as Florida when her daughter lost her job.

Expressing the epitome of love and family support, Barton went back into the workforce full-time to pay her daughter's mortgage until she finds a job.

1. I think that is beautiful.I would do it for my children and I would hope that they would do the same for me.

2. MY CHILDREN AND GRANDKIDS ARE MY HEART, I WOULD DO THE SAME THING FOR THEM, THATS WHAT FAMILY IS ALL ABOUT.

BERNADINE LEWIS at 10:47AM on Oct 29th 2008

3. That was a selfless deed that Mrs Barton did for her family. May God bless all of them.
If McCain wins the election I'm afraid we will see more of our hard working seniors come out of retirement and many more unable to ever enjoy retirement nad the fruits of their labor.

April Robbins-Bobyn at 12:38PM on Oct 29th 2008

4. No disrespect intended. But,I would not allow my 70 year old mother to come out of retirement to pay my mortgage. I would work three jobs before I would accept an offer like that. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it!

Felicia at 1:31PM on Oct 29th 2008

7. This is beautiful. As a mother and grandmother this inspires me to do all I can to keep myself physically and mentally fit so that I would be able to do the same thing if necessary. God Bless her!
