This week Anita Williams, the mother of Academy Award-nominated actor, singer Terrence Howard has passed away.

According to 'People,' Williams has passed away from a long bout with cancer.

A rep for the 'Iron Man' star released a statement to the magazine stating, "Terrence will take some time to privately grieve with his family. He appreciates everyone's support during this difficult time."

In addition to Howard, Williams leaves behind nine other children.

Earlier this month the 39-year-old Hollywood actor-musician released his debut album, 'Shine Through It,' which debut on the 'Billboard' charts at number 31 selling over 14,000 copies within its first week.

1. Sorry to hear about your loss. May your mother rest in God's loving arms for eternity.

2. You have always been in my prayers even more so now. If you need to feel loved call me I will give you all the love you can stand. I don't want to be your babies momma but we can play like we working towards that goal. LOVE YA MUCH

YOMOMMA at 4:32PM on Sep 26th 2008

3. FINALLY! Your class act is being recognized. In "Shine..." your voice tells it all, just as your eyes and speech do when you "act." You BECOME someone other than your "regular, normal" self and transport us to the heart of the characters acted or the lyrics sung. I am so tired of the singers and actors who are the same face, same voice, same as they are every day people no matter what part they have or song they are singing. Instead of ACTING or "feeling" the song, they are just being themselves. It can't have been easy, not being properly aprectiated for your quality work. Please know that many o us do.

5. May God keep you strong and in His everloving embrace. I can truly say that I know what you are going trhough haveing lost my won Father to this diesease. The pain of losing him was easier to bare than the pain of watching him wither away right before my very eyes. The solace I have is that for him there is no more suffering. For you mom there is the same comfort. May you continued to be blessed and everything you touch turn to gold. I have been a fan for a long time. I am happy to see your star rising.

8. Terrence,
My heart goes out to you and your family. I lost my aunt to cancer last December and my uncle died from cancer over ten years ago. I know they are resting with God with no more pain, just like your mother is now. She will always be with you.

She was always the same .When I would go visit her, it was like visiting my Mother, which is in Heaven waiting to see her. She was "Special Angel ". God wanted her to come to her eternal home.

Love,
Patricia
