Now we really know what Tiger Woods is doing with his time off. If he isn't walking on water or handling business in Dubai, he's at home getting cozy with his wife Elin. The two announced that they are expecting their second child later this year.
"This has been a year of contrasts," Tiger said on his website. "I had a solid start to the season, won the U.S. Open in an exciting playoff, and then unfortunately had to shut it down after successful knee surgery. And now, I have some wonderful news to report. Sam is going to be a big sister. Elin and I are proud to announce that we are expecting our second child in late winter."
The couple had their first child, Sam Alexis Woods, in June 2007. Earlier this year, Woods announced that he was done playing for the rest of the year while his knee recovered from surgery. He is expected to return to the golf course in 2009.
"Elin is feeling great, and we are both thrilled," Woods continued. "While my injury has been disappointing and frustrating, it has allowed me to spend a lot of time watching Sam grow. I can't begin to tell you how rewarding it is being a dad and spending time with her and Elin. The injury has been a blessing and a disappointment. I hope everyone had a great holiday, and I'm already starting to wonder if Sam's sibling will be a boy or a girl."
