Fox Affiliate Tells Solange: "Quit Gravy-Training Off Your Sister"

Just when you thought the fallout from Solange Knowles' verbal lashing on the unsuspecting Las Vegas fox reporter Monica Jackson was over, the Fox affiliate KVVU has issued a verbal assault of their own against the younger sister of Beyonce.

Here's what happened initially; Solange was on a satellite tour last week promoting her current album, 'Sol Angel & the Hadley Street Dreams,' in various markets.

The 22-year-old singer appeared on the 'More' show, which is co-hosted by Jackson, and after the anchor introduced the singer on live television, Knowles attempted to check her for what she considered "not a very professional introduction."

She continued: "Please don't talk me into family and my brother-in-law's establishment."

The baffled host attempted to make nice with Knowles, despite being visibly confused by the singer's posture.

Moments later, a producer announced to the singer, "that part wasn't on TV."

What television viewers didn't know was during the commercial break prior to the segment, a KVVU producer asked the Houston-bred singer's rep if Jackson could mention that Jay-Z had just sold his 40/40 club in Las Vegas.

Solange's publicist denied the request and asked that questions focusing solMonica Jacksonely on her music be asked.

Once the story made national news, the singer, who starred in the film 'Johnson Family Vacation,' retaliated with a YouTube video justifying why she took the position she took with Fox 5 Las Vegas.

In her personal video, Knowles tells the station to "Stop jockin' Jay-Z," whom the singer confirmed is married to her sister during the initial interview by calling him her "brother-in-law."

Jay-Z and Beyonce have never confirmed their nuptials.

"I was furious," Knowles declared. "I felt very disrespected. I felt very offended that someone would try to bring up something totally irrelevant to basically reel me in. I stand by my reaction. I still say it was highly disrespectful and offensSolange & Beyonce Knowlesive. I'm always going to stand up and speak up for myself and for my family as well. So either love me or leave me alone for that."

If that wasn't enough, Knowles went on to insult journalists in general.

"I am disappointed with the level of journalism right now. I feel like it's at an all-time low," she offered.

Fox 5 'News in the Morning' anchor Dave Hall delivered a quite candid commentary about Knowles during his broadcast.

"No wonder Solange Knowles isn't the famous sister," Hall ranted. "Well she was promoting her new album, whatever its called. Nobody cares! It's gonna be in stores, not that any of you care. What a little brat!"

Hall also believes that the younger Knowles is capitalizing off her Grammy-winning sister, Beyonce.

"Quit gravy-training off your sister and do your own career," he proclaimed.

His co-host, Heidi Hayes, also offered: "She needs to learn some skills on the interviewing."

1. A real woman would have apologized for her mistake, not compounded it with excuses and theatrics. She was probably mad because she realized she slipped and called Jay her brother-in-law. Suck it up girl, we already knew.

2. Actaully Beyonce confirmed their marriage, but Jay-z didn't. Im sure that part really isn't a big deal because we all know their married and so do they so FOX can stop bringing that part up!I think Solange couldve handled the situation in a different way but I don't hate her for the way she did handle it. Her assistant or who ever works for her should tell the interviewer that questions about Jay-z and Beyone are band before hand, if she doesn't wanna talk about them.

3. I won't be buying her CD, I don't find her the least bit interesting.

tina at 8:05AM on Sep 3rd 2008

4. I think that Solange is so over and she needs to have a seat somewhere. We don't care about you and what you are talking about, your brother-n-law is a star and your sister is a mega-star and you are super no one. Your not even a Michelle, get over your self and grow up.

Toya at 9:01AM on Sep 3rd 2008

5. I think she's almost paranoid over being compared in any way to her sister - so much, that she's prepared to "jump the gun" even before its necessary to do so. A more seasoned artist would have never responded to the host, Monica Jackson, the way she did.

She's so young and it doesn't appear that she's figured out yet how to work the circuit...part of what's expected in promoting is politics...you have to be able to sell your personality as well as your music...of course, if you're extraordinary in your music abilities as a musician, people may dismiss that - like Prince...the man has rarely given what most would consider a good interview...but, we know as a musical genius, we're cool w/that.

Solanges's skills as a musician are so fresh you can practically smell the baby milk around her mouth. She'll have to figure out herself (and possibly from her successful sister) what it takes to be the diva it seems she wants to be...standing in the shadow's of Bey must be very hard for her, but I believe that as she matures and learns what it really takes, she too can find success in the industry.

6. what a shame, I had just ask my nephew to burn me her cd. to hear the song i like on her cd(six o'clock blues),now it's like i don't won't to hear it. none of her cd. I watch monica, jason ,hedi, ted every morning, and they are nice people. For solange to do that lost it for me I'M DONE WITH HER.

dlitful at 2:27PM on Sep 3rd 2008

7. As Solange appears in front of the media more, she will probably learn how to address such matters more tactfully. Still, the morning anchor didn't need to belittle her album.

MrMellow at 3:00PM on Sep 3rd 2008

8. This little hot too trot want to be and trying too hard to be, needs to pull another card that same ole crap might have helped destiny's child get a lot of recognition before they blew up because there was always some drama. Solong you need to chill the hell out, you are not all that beyawwwnnce's sister or not those kind of outburst will put you out before you get your skinny little leg in the door, pride comes before fall my little darling!!!

heidi at 3:52PM on Sep 3rd 2008

9. What the HELL is going on with education in this country??? None of the people in these videos can speak English, the entire article is poorly written and rife with misspellings. It's no wonder the USA is a joke to the rest of the world.

Linda at 4:06PM on Sep 3rd 2008

10. just another dopey, self-important sister!

bill at 4:30PM on Sep 3rd 2008

11. If Beyonce wasn't her sister, her video never have debuted at #4...
and that interview witht the news lady was not perfessional, she can be authoritize and say what she needed to say without being bitchy.
all she needed to say was... hm let's see... NOTHING! and if they did ask, then she should have said, "that's not what im hear to talk about, this interview is about my album."
that's all it takes

Tracy-Lore at 4:32PM on Sep 3rd 2008

12. Another N heard from.

fizzazz at 4:32PM on Sep 3rd 2008

13. Who the hell is Solange?

cre8edc8 at 4:32PM on Sep 3rd 2008

14. She won't be famous for her music. She will only be known because of her heritage. Not even just as Beyonce's little sister, but as Beyonce's bitchy little sister.WAY TO GO SOL..who?

cre8edc8 at 4:34PM on Sep 3rd 2008

15. Why does anyone care about her. She is terrible, has no talent and acts like a diva! Very sad when there are people out there with talent who just need a break. I guess the only way is to have a sibling already in the business.
