The Cuban Barack? Si Se Puede!

Posted Aug 26th 2008 8:00PM by Jeff Douglas

DENVER -- Will the real Barack Obama please stand up?

OK, so Obama says we should all learn Spanish. This Barack Obama (impersonator) is fluent!

Gerardo Passiaux is from Guantánamo, Cuba, and says he is happy to "be" and support the real Obama.

Many thanks to Epichica at AOL Latino's Election blog for grabbing this video.

Here at the DNC convention in Denver, more than one delegate freaked out as they thought they had run in to the senator himself ... but then he started talking in Spanish and the illusion vanished.

But seriously, the Secret Service could use this dude as a stunt double!

1. Lol.

2. I think Obama has lost the race when he did not pick Hillary and McCain picked the crazy woman from Alaska. I think it was an awesome celebration and thats exactly what it was. They have already read statements that the Vice President could give him the knowledge. Although, I do not like the man as a president, he is knowledgeable enough to do the damn job.
Now, they have found some look alike who has big ears and speaks Spanish. Well that is trully offensive. Everybody black does not look alike. But I forgot he is not black he is biracial one minute and the next black. If thats the case we all can check biracial.

When he stated everyone in this country should learn Spanish, NO EVERY ILLEGEAL AND LEGAL IMMIGRANT SHOULD LEARN ENGLISH. I AM TIRED OF MY TAX DOLLARS BEING USED IN SCHOOLS ON THESE ILLEGEAL'S. TEACHERS TAKEN FROM MAJOR SUBJECTS MATH AND SCIENCE TO TEACH ESOL. WHY? IF WE ARE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY WOUYLD WE HAVE TO LEARN THEIR LANGUAGE TO GO TO SCHOOL. I WILL BE GLAD WHEN EVERY STATE PASSES ENGLISH AS THE OPFFICIAL LANGUAGE.
FED UP AND PISSED OFF. SEND EVERY ILLEGEAL; IMMIGRANT BACK AND EVERYONE IN THIS COUNTRY SHOULD LEARN ENGLISH.

3. He has the same tone of voice that's for sure.

sharon at 9:02AM on Aug 30th 2008

4. Well honestly, I don't think that because Mccain picked a woman that it will help him to win. I don't care if it's a woman or a man it's about EXPERIENCE. Far as everyone needing to learn Spanish...it's nothing wrong with that, it's a good thing to learn different languages because you never know when you will have to deal with people from different countries. I don't think it needs to be mandatory though. If you want to...learn it, if not...don't.

It's a little frustrating to me when someone who speaks Spanish comes to my job and I can't help them. We BOTH feel a little helpless. I took 3 years of French and it helped but I know that I will come into contact with more Spanish speaking people now that I am older.

All Spanish people that are here in the US aren't illegal immigrants. Yes I agree that it's good for them to learn English also.

You are also right, we can all check bi-racial because we are all mixed up with different races. We are all night just WHITE and BLACK. But it's nothing to be angry about. Barack is Bi-racial but the fact remains that if he has a drop of black blood in him, people of all colors WHITE mostly will call him BLACK!

The man embraces both sides of mother and father...it's nothing wrong with that. Some people just can't understand...and usually it's Caucasian people who can't which is sad to say. So many people are so closed minded these days.

Good luck to Barack and Biden!!! Help us to make change and not to continue on the path that has lead to our destruction.

5. I WILL NEVER IN A MILLION , BILLION, TRILLION, ZILLION YEARS VOTE FOR MCCAIN! OBAMA 08-16!

TASTEFUL LADY at 9:45AM on Aug 30th 2008

6. Lisa, people with views like yours are the reason this world is the way that it is. There is no such thing as an "illegal". We are all people, all souls, God made us all. Unfortunately he left learning to love one another up to us!

Jackie at 10:02AM on Aug 30th 2008

7. I pray that Obama amd Biden win this November...Because God knows we need change.because it's a mess right now..We can thank Bush for that...I will be glad to see him go...I just can't understand why Obama did not pick Hilary for Vice-President? I think Obama would of had a way better chances of winning the election with Hilary on his side...that is my opinion..

mluvbarn@aol.com at 10:11AM on Aug 30th 2008

8. NOooo! this person does not look like Mr. Obama. Ten (10) tall men with close hair cuts, light complexion could look like somebody else. On the other hand, I do not envy anyone who takes over being the president of the USA at this time. The present administration and others are truly leaving a serious mess for others to clean up. Whoever gets elected will be blamed for it all---soooo sad!

Frances at 10:24AM on Aug 30th 2008

9. Tasteful Lady 30th Aug 08:Reply: You probably are too young to vote or have never taken the time to invest in your country to place an informed decisive ballot that affects millions of Americans other than just Yourself, esspecially the lives of Men and Women serving their country, in harms way, everyday!

Sharon (30AUG08:Reply): You level headed optimism and hope for humanity is commendable. Continue to take responsibility for your own actions and be concerned for the future, for as we can see so many Americans just want to talk about it (Pesimistic) and complain. Every one has been given the opportunity to vote....use it wisely and determine the state of your future and others that stand the watch to protect that right while you lay in bed safe and sleep at night they are in the sand ensuring terroism does not reach your front doors and leave you homeless and in a war ruin country. Vote for whom you want but VOTE!
Lastly as you cast that vote make sure it was your best informed decision because there is so much more that just a race behind the ticket......here's a hint (millions of lives). I pray for this country's safety every- YOU?

10. AMERICA IS SOO "DUMB"..... WE WANT TO BE THE LEADERS OF THE WORLD, YET WE CAN'T EVEN SPEAK PROPER ENGLISH!! EVERY OTHER NATION SPEAKS MANY LANGUAGES IN ADDITION TO THEIR NATIVE TONGUE! WE ARE SOO "DUMB"!!

Sarg at 11:10AM on Aug 30th 2008

11. To:mluvbarrn.........I don't know familiar you are with politics but,let me say that I too would have loved for Hillary to win. That is until BARAK O. came along. As well all know B.Clinton did ONE HELL O A JOB while in office. So with this being said if Hillary had won who do you think would run this country once more.......and don't get it twisted it would have been nice i am sure.So if Barak were to have choose Hillary as his VP don't you think that she would try to ovestep her boundry and maybe even perhaps become a tad bit disresppectful to the person appointed as the official PRESIDENT.
It probably would have worked had she not ran for President.

dadiva2k at 11:51AM on Aug 30th 2008

12. Why is it that my Tax Dollars are use for these people to learn to Speak Spanish for free and they refuss to do so, but if I wanted to learn to speak Spanish I have to pay? If you don't want to live by the law of this land then get the Hell out, and go home since your Country is so great.

Afordlove at 12:04PM on Aug 30th 2008

13. LOL! He does favor the Senator. I agree with Jackie(Aug 30)One thing I can say it confuses the ignorant to try and judge the outer man because Obama represents both BLACK and WHITE. We are suposse to judge the inner man. It is indeed a time for a change!!!

Powell at 12:12PM on Aug 30th 2008

14. I am a mother of a son that just run for an office, no he did not win the seat, but he build his charcter, gained experiance, and made lots of friends that have his best interest at heart. It is very difficult stepping out on what you belive, and hopeing that everybody accepts your vision for the community that we all live in. Barack Obama has a vision for this country, we all know it is in a mess. We need to get behind this man's vision for change. and put him in office, it is not a black/white women or man issue, I belive he is the man for the job, we will no find out unless we step out on faith and belive Mr Obama can make a change in our lives. all pray and ask God for direction

Lynda Owens at 12:22PM on Aug 30th 2008

15. SO ...What's wrong with learning Spanish !???
We need to...look at all the legal hispanics around you, on your job, at the restaurants, on the other end of your phone at work ! c'mon people. FACE IT...Hispanics are now the largest majority in the country. So get used to it and learn to communicate. Many of your jobs will require it since their customers will speak lil, broken or no English, yet have legal documents to work and live here. GET USED TO IT! IT'll be fun learning a 2nd language and jobs pay you more when you can be that flexible for them and more of their clients/customers. ENJOY! it's a beautiful language.
