'Access Hollywood ' weekend co-anchor and correspondent Shaun Robinson has signed a new, multi-year contract to continue with NBC Universal's top-rated entertainment news magazine show.

The 40-something talent, currently in Beijing providing coverage of the 2008 Olympic Summer Games, joined the show in May 1999 and has worked on 'Access Hollywood' for nine years.

"I feel blessed to be asked to stay on board here at 'Access' and with the show constantly evolving, it's an exciting place to work," said Robinson. "I feel fortunate to be part of an amazing team."

Shaun Robinson

The Detroit native recently inked a lucrative deal with Ballantine Books, a division of Random House Publishing Group, for her debut book in Spring 2009.

Robinson's first tome is a self-esteem book for girls called, 'Exactly As I Am.'

The Emmy-winning TV talent was also recently named as a national board member of Girls, Inc., a national organization that teaches girls to be "smart, strong and bold."

Actress and original 'Dreamgirl' Sheryl Lee Ralph is gearing up for her annual AIDS benefit, 'Divas Simply Singing.'

The forSheryl Lee Ralphmer 'Moesha' star is looking for the next "diva" to appear on her 18th annual 'Divas Simply Singing' on Saturday, Oct. 11.

Ralph is looking for aspiring "divas" to upload a one minute a cappella performance video of them singing their favorite song.

(Singers must be 18-years-old and female. Songs may not contain profanity. Singers must have a current headshot, resume and live within the 48 contiguous United States. Contest excludes Hawaii, Alaska, U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.)

The winner will be chosen to appear alongside Ralph and the who's who roster of R&B, pop, jazz and gospel singers who will bring the house down at the Wilshire Theatre Beverly Hills.

To compete, upload videos at www.youtube.com/group/divadiscovery and for additional details visit www.DivasSimplySinging.com.

D.L. Hughley*****

Sources tell me that CNN is developing a new series for 'King of Comedy' and 'Tom Joyner Morning Show' contributor D.L. Hughley.

I hear that Turner Network brass like Hughley's take on politics and pop culture and have been brainstorming about a show tailored for the Hollywood funnyman.

Stay tuned...

1. I am delighted to hear that the lovely, and I do mean, lovely, Shaun Robinson has been signed to a new multi-year contract on the Access TV program. She is my favorite reporter. In addition, she is the single reason I tune into the program rather than the show that competes with her show. Access made a wise decision in my opinion.

2. I'm glad D.L. will get his own show on politics. I love watching him on the Bill Maher show on HBO. Can't wait.

6. Good for CNN, DL will make a great addition. He has this tendency to say what so many people are talking about amongst themselves.
I resent the question about philanthropy. We don't know what anyone gives unless they instruct their PR person to turn it into a headline. I have much more admiration for those who give quietly than those who give in order to establish a rep.
