Tyrese Gibson And John Singleton May Reunite For Unofficial 'Baby Boy' Sequel

Posted Aug 13th 2008 12:05PM by Wilson Morales
Filed under: It's All Reel

As his next film, 'Death Race', gets ready to hit the screen next week, Tyrese Gibson has been doing lots of interviews to promote the action packed film that also stars Jason Statham, and while talking to my colleagues at moviehole.net, they stated that writer/director John Singleton is in pre-production on an unofficial sequel to his 2001 flick 'Baby Boy'.

'Fight for Love', a drama scheduled to shoot in the Fall, will reunite the stars of the earlier film Tyrese Gibson and Taraji P. Henson.

In the film, Gibson and Henson play a struggling couple, Sir and Cookie, who've two kids, some unapproving parents and a bevy of external forces working against them.

3. I think this will be a great idea for Baby Boy 2. Because I think sexy tyrese is an excellent actor/singer. Actually, the entire actress/actor for this movie was the bomb! Bring it on...

4. Sounds like a good movie. I think the action genre is a good fit for Tyrese.

6. Do it, I think its gone be off the hook I loved baby boy 1 so uch i pretty much know the whole movie

7. Although I love Tyrese, he is multi-talented, I'm not sure if the first Baby Boy relates to today's issues in the black community. The movie was great and relevent to that time. For me eight years ago was a lifetime. I know there's still crime and gang activity, but I'm 42 years old and don't see the glorifying of hood life like it was back in the day. I do believe the black community has evolved. So it will be interesting to see how John Singleton relates Baby Boy to today's lifestyle. Or am I just getting old. :)

9. Baby Boy was a good movie. But it made me tired! It was too much reality.

It was worth it to see Ving Rhames tight buns and him hop A.J. Johnson across the floor. OH MY!

10. i cant wait!my friends and i still say lines from the movie
U MY RIB!LMAO

11. I really don't understand Tyrese, let me make this clear...I think is such a talented young man and had a voice that could be the sound of some many classics yet written! When he first came on the scene in his Coca Cola commerical ,I said to myself " WOW " this kid is going to be such a legend! Yet Tyrese has just went away from what was so great about him , I always pictured him at sell out concerts doin his thing representing true R & B croooners! Tyrese thou reminds me of the rich kid who has everything yet wants to go to the hood and act like he is from the hood! Grant it..he is ( Watts ) but...this whole Black Ty thing doesnt fit....this whole acting thing doesnt fit. He was okay in a few movies but his voice is so angelic and so awsome...I have no clue why Tyrese is negelecting his true gift!

Roland at 11:50AM on Aug 18th 2008

12. Hey Roland!!! Tyrese hollas at his fans on myspace and he said the record business was holding him back. I agree he's no rapper, but his R&B music is off the hook. It's ashame that he's put down the music for acting but according to him he wants an Oscar. Can't blame him though for wanting to explore other avenues, but I agree, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Music is his thing.

Yulanda at 7:37PM on Aug 19th 2008

13. Baby boy was cool... It was real depending on what lifestyle your living. If John ever wants to switch up I wrote an excellent screenplay from a novel I wrote called "Jez the modern day Jezebel" It is a horror, drama. I would love for him to review and check it out. I'm a writer not a producer so if I could hook up with him that would be awesome. The plot is off the hook!!!!!
