Now in its fourth year, the MEAC/SWAC Challenge, the annual Historically Black College football game that showcases a team from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) and the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), has moved from Legion Field in Birmingham, Alabama to the Florida Citrus Bowl on Orlando, Florida.
Hampton and Jackson State Universities will battle it out on the grid iron on Sunday, August 31 and be broadcast live on ESPN2 at 2pm EST. The weekend kicks off on August 29 with the MEAC/SWAC Challenge Kickoff Banquet at the Walt Disney World Resort featuring former Grambling State player, coach, and Washington Redskins quarterback Doug Williams as the keynote speaker.
Jarrett Payton, son of NFL great Walter Payton, will also be unveiling the inaugural Walter Payton Achievement Award, which will be given to one player from each team playing in the challenge.
