Paris Hilton and 'Obama Fatigue'

Posted Aug 7th 2008 8:00AM by Faye Anderson
Filed under: BlackSpin, Elections, Barack Obama

A new Pew Research Center poll found half of voters are suffering from "Obama Fatigue":
As he has since January, this week, Barack Obama enjoyed much more visibility as far as the public was concerned than did John McCain. By a margin of 76% to 11% respondents in Pew's weekly News Interest Index survey named Obama over McCain as the candidate they have heard the most about in recent days.

But the same poll also shows that the Democratic candidate's media dominance may not be working in his favor. Close to half (48%) of Pew's interviewees went on to say that they have been hearing too much about Obama lately.

And by a slight, but statistically significant margin - 22% to 16% - people say that recently they have a less rather than more favorable view of the putative Democratic nominee.
Poll respondents said they want to hear more about John McCain. Good luck with that. There are now "distractions from the distractions."

Meanwhile, Paris Hilton totally trashes McCain in her latest video.

In one day, Paris' video has nearly five million views. Still, her use of the B-word has gone largely unnoticed. While Ludacris was rightly called out for using the B-word, Paris gives gets a free ride.

Luda must be totally hot (under the collar).

1. I'M SICK OF LOOKING, LISTENING EVERYTHING
ABOUT OSAMA OBAMA

rose at 1:09PM on Aug 7th 2008

2. ^this simple B-word(rollin my eyes)

This "Obama Fatigue" was created by msm because they are always reporting on him and they should report more on war/economic issues. And all Sen McCain talks about is Sen Barack Obama because McCain aint about nothin!!! so if you are "tired" of Sen Obama, complain to the media for covering him so much or simply turn off the TV, its not like he's going away he's running for the Presidential Office

Lranee at 2:06PM on Aug 7th 2008

3. I'm 100 times sick of looking at George W. Bush and the other war criminal Dick Cheney. Add old, cranky, womanizing, and senile John McShame to that list also.

Bridget T. at 2:10PM on Aug 7th 2008

4. It's because nobody is talking about McCain. The media ignored Mcaian. They act like Obama is the only one running for president.

To rose: If you are sick of Obama, you better leave the country now, because he will be in the White House for the next eight years.

5. I can't believe AOL would post a trashy article like this here. Obama has nothing in common with Paris Hilton. This is a disgrace. AOL is a disgrace.

6. It's not Obama's fault that the press keeps pushing him in everyone's face. They did up garbage the politicians dig up garbage. They want to keep that in everyone's face as he tries to clear them up, then they have to rehash the lies, and every single fact has to be gone over at least thirty times. I love Obama and I watch it all but the press does make it sickening. Some of the stuff they put out there on the man is so stupid!! Who cares if he wears that flag pin. Will his wearing it help this country with any of the problems ifs facing? No, but they went crazy with that story!

He's the first black man to make it this far and they want to be on him with a microscope. This country is NOT ready for a black president. They are going to keep throwing stuff out there until the very end. If he scratched his nose and someone feels they don't like the way he scratched his nose, they'd have five weeks of news stories about that! He didn't ask the press and everyone else to be all over him like this.

They talked about him because they said he hadn't gone to the Middle East. Okay, so he goes and they don't like it because he drew such a large crowd, and God forbid, (excuse me, I was stupid enough to use the "G" word) he had the audacity to speak to them. ....They just stopped short of saying that he was being uppity and didn't know his place.

The media and the politicians are going to keep this stuff coming so hold on, this wild ride is not over yet.

Ann at 2:48PM on Aug 7th 2008

7. Why do they continue to post pictures of Obama and Paris together on the home page of this site. Not only is it uncreative; its disrespectful to the African Americans that visit this site. It's an insult on our visual intelligence.

How about a picture McCain posted next to Mrs. New York.

klanta at 9:29PM on Aug 7th 2008

8. I loved the skit. I don't see all the fuss with her using the b-word. Ludacris should've known when he used it, it would have a different connotation. It's the world we live in and Luda should've known it would'nt help Obama with independents. That was just ignorant on Luda's part.

Go Paris at 10:30PM on Aug 7th 2008

9. Obama is a cash cow for the media. They are not going to stop reporting on him because he helps there ratings. Mccain is old, boring and outdated and the media knows this and any story on him noone would be interested.Sadly, people want Obama to mess up or some other controversy about him to come up because people mainly republicans want to see him fall.I have a gut feeling that he will be the next president of US.

lamont at 6:24PM on Aug 8th 2008

10. I don't think he is being "over publisized", I think people are realizing that he is a phony. He will lose the presidential election by double digits.

Joel DiGulio at 9:49PM on Aug 8th 2008

11. LOL poster #5. Most of the articles posted on AOL BV are "trashy articles."

Q at 2:01AM on Aug 9th 2008

12. I thought Obama was refreshing when he started his campaign but the more he campaigns and the more I learn of his views and his "plans" the less impressed I am.

Q at 2:48AM on Aug 9th 2008

13. Hey #1, why don't you just pluck out your eyes and Obama will be the least of your worries, dumb azz...

I am on Faye Anderson overload. She rides Obama's dycke more than Michelle does. Why don't you report on the damage Bush and Cheney is doing to the US right now, and let the future take care of Obama. Better yet, report on the damage having George McCain will have on the country and get up off of Obama.

Charden at 10:30AM on Aug 9th 2008

14. I'll be happy when OBAMA is elected president...i imagine some of you won't be turning on your tvs. No one is perfection for those of you who may have some concerns about his views. However, when you consider George Bush and Mc Cain views Obama's views are golden! Obama has a far better vision for this country...a vision of change for the better...a vision long overdue.

Jess at 11:28AM on Aug 9th 2008

15. i can not believe that the american people are

this stupid why is the country in a mess if all
these pass president was so together and has so much
experience in what? obama is a threat to old habits
of bad gov why paste his picture in a negative way
instead of a postive
