Buzz Exclusive: Dennis Rodman & The Rivers Join 'The Celebrity Apprentice'

BV Buzz has learned exclusively that cross-dressing former NBA star Dennis Rodman and mother and daughter duo Joan and Melissa Rivers have signed on for the second season of 'The Celebrity Apprentice.'

A source close to the production tells me that that Rodman and the Rivers join actor/talk show host Tony Danza, who will also be featured on the show.

Paul McCartney's ex-wife and Britain's most hated woman, Heather Mills, was apparently in negotiations to join the Donald Trump-hosted series. But my tipster tells me that she "was terribly difficult" and producers ultimately nixed the idea.

'The Celebrity Apprentice' premiered in January of this year and heHeather Millslped salvage Trump's boardroom-based franchise, which was facing cancellation on NBC after its ratings dwindled.

The repackaged celebrity edition of the series had stars competing in business-oriented tasks in New York City to raise money for their favorite charities.

Last season's celebs included country music star Trace Adkins, Olympic gymnastics gold medalist Nadia Comaneci, 'Playboy' Playmate of the Year Tiffany Fallon, Olympic softball gold medalist Jennie Finch, actor Stephen Baldwin, reality TV vixen Omarosa, 'The Sopranos' star Vincent Pastore, former entertainment president of the Telemundo network Nely Galan, heavyweight boxing champ Lennox Lewis, KISS rocker Gene Simmons, actress Marilu Henner and Ultimate Fighting Champion Tito Ortiz.

'America's Got Talent' judge Piers Morgan actually won the first season of 'The Celebrity Apprentice.'

1. An interesting combination.

Q at 2:26AM on Aug 7th 2008

2. Not if Joan Rivers is the biggest name celebrity contestant....bring back Gene Simmons

Richard F. Good at 8:45AM on Aug 7th 2008

3. Donald Trump is an egotistical jerk with a bad hair style. The apprentice should've been axed after the first season. What a joke! If he is going to do this crap, he should at least get some A-list celebrities instaed of a bunch of has-beens.

David Johnson at 8:48AM on Aug 7th 2008

4. Loved last season, a total blast watching it to the end. Yes, Bring back Gene Simmons. We didn't get to see much of him. Never missed an episode.

5. Which celebraties?

James at 9:06AM on Aug 7th 2008

6. How new could another run of the Apprentice be? Ben there, done that, so let us move on to something new.
This the trouble of shows that make a hit. They try to run them over and over and it is boring.

BADGER at 9:12AM on Aug 7th 2008

7. Heather Mills???? Are you kidding me? Didn't she get enough money from screwing Paul over. She tried to get a name by being on Dancing with the Stars. No really great names on this list.

8. If I had a BOTOX eternal smile I would leave Don alone He will eat her up !

10. I was glued to the TV for last season. Can't wait for the next.

Ian at 9:48AM on Aug 7th 2008

11. They ask if CA#2 will be a hit?? Why should it when the first piece of crap flopped?? More ego-trash from the all-time King of Crap.

rudewaitress at 10:06AM on Aug 7th 2008

12. I was more interested in "The Apprentice" when it had actual 'contestants' vying for a position with the Trump team. I just casually viewed 'CA' last season. Time to get a good replacement for the show. It's made its run.

Mary at 10:25AM on Aug 7th 2008

13. I don't know why but I love this show. I am disappointed that they had to start using Celebrities to get people to watch it but I still love the show. I went through a huge withdrawl when it was off. I am anxious to see Dennis Rodman. I think that will be very interesting.

14. I just love this show. Thank goodness its back on during the week. Joan Rivers and Dennis Rodman should be histerical. Ivanka was a great replacement for Caroline. At first it was like okay its her fathers show but she has really proven to be a smart girl. Can't wait for the next season to start.

Gerry at 4:17PM on Aug 7th 2008

15. GO DONALD ! I LOVE 'YA.
JOAN IS NOT BRIGHT - I'VE MET HER. FUNNY, BUT DUMB.
BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW SHE 'COPES' BEING SO VERY, VERY INTO HERSELF.
