First Look At Wesley Snipes And Don Cheadle In Antoine Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest

Posted Aug 5th 2008 1:34PM by Wilson Morales
Filed under: It's All Reel

In what may be his first big screen role since 'Blade II', Entertainment Weekly posted the first look of Wesley Snipes, along with Don Cheadle, in 'Brooklyn's Finest', which is being directed by Antoine Fuqua.

Three unconnected Brooklyn cops wind up at the same deadly location after enduring vastly different career paths.

Snipes will play a drug dealer and Cheadle is an undercover officer, respectively.

Also staring in the film are Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, Ellen Barkin, Jesse Williams, Sarah Thompson, and Hassan Johnson (from HBO's The Wire). Williams plays a rookie cop under Richard Gere.

Snipes has been in the news lately over his legal issues for not paying taxes. He's working with the govenment hoping to avoid any jail time. Coming up next for Snipes is another straight-to-DVD film, but actually a sequel to a film that played in theaters, 'The Art of War II: Betrayal'. Until 'Brooklyn's Finest' comes out, Snipes would have had 8 films that went to straight-to-DVD.

Before anyone starts to fact-check, 'Blade: Trinity' did play in theaters in 2004 but if you saw the film, Snipes played second fiddle to Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel and didn't help promote the film.

His role in 'Finest' may not be a leading but it's a step to get back in the big leagues.

'Brooklyn's Finest' opens in 2009.

9. Hey Wesley, you are truly missed. You are a very talented actor and I know you will come back strong.

You know people (the Press) are always saying negative things, but don't let that get you down.

This is only a test. You will pass with flying colors, because I know you will take it to another level. GOOD LUCK!

10. Keep your head up. Focus on where you're going and not what you going through. I hope you continue to be a great actor.

Kiera at 9:19PM on Aug 6th 2008

11. Why the hell do rich people don't want to pay their taxes. Makes no sense to me every one must pay so if you have the money like wesley did just pay them. His black ass almost went to jail. Now what kind of sense is that wesley.

Linda at 11:30PM on Aug 6th 2008

12. I like both actors I'll see this movie.

Willie Eashman at 11:47PM on Aug 6th 2008

13. Wesley tripped, stumbled a bit - and will get back up. That's what we do. Troubles aside, he's still the baddest Black action movie star out here, and his fans are loyal. He'll be just fine. Best of luck to him.

warren at 11:55PM on Aug 6th 2008
