Dwyane Wade Ain't Trying to Look Pretty Anymore

Posted Jul 30th 2008 3:00PM by Quibian Salazar-Moreno
Filed under: Casually Obsessed

Miami Heat baller Dwyane Wade is blogging for the Associated Press, detailing his experiences as the Men's U.S. Olympic team tries to bring home the gold from Beijing. In his post, he talks about hanging with Denzel Washington and talking about Olympic basketball, but apparently folks are talking about Wade's bald head. Yes, ladies, he's shaved it all off.

"For those of you who haven't checked out my latest video from Vegas, you're missing my new look. I've cut all my hair off," Wade wrote. "I've gone bald for the simple fact that I'm focused solely on basketball. I'm not concerning myself with waking up in the morning, brushing my hair trying to look pretty. I'm really focused on playing and bringing home the gold. Also, in China I'm not letting anybody cut my hair. If you're not my barber, it's not happening. The bald look will last me the next 30 days."Wade continues in the post about working out his knee after injury, hanging with Alonzo Mourning at Zo's Summer Groove along with Queen Latifah and Chris Tucker. Wade also announced that when he wins gold, "I'm going on an Olympic tour, hitting all the hot cities doing Olympic parties."

Just win the medal first homie.

2. You look good buoy! Whatever changes you made in your life, I am one of your favorite fans. Bringing home that gold will definately bring joy to my heart. You are a "gogetter" for basketball. Go for it, shoot it, and dunk it. This Jamaican Queen is with you to the max. Best wishes Buoy. One love and Peace.

3. I don't blame him about not letting any and every one
cut his hair! It doesn't look bad on him. He will be
just fine until he gets back to his own barber. Oh, by
the way at the end of the article win is mis-spelled.

winky at 11:18AM on Jul 31st 2008

4. It looks good on him and I am glad he's trying to focus on THE GAME. I agree that the US team needs to bring it home first before talking about where they are going to party.

Note to Quibian Salazar-Moreno: Correction is needed in the last sentence. It should read - Just win the medal first homie.

5. This comment is to Quibian Salazar-Moreno, the person who wrote this article. Please proof your work before posting. You have to pay attention to detail because as a writer, you have that responsibility. Denzel spells his last name "Washington," and the last sentence in your article should be "Just win the gold first homie."

6. I never thought of Dwade being "pretty" as a picture. But whatever floats the boat I guess is cool.

7. i've been going bald for the last 15 years,,,so what?

wwboopman at 10:40PM on Jul 31st 2008

8. He has never been pretty! He is not one of the pretty boys,in fact he is one of the uglier ones.

BENZLUVA at 10:43AM on Aug 1st 2008

9. wth r u guys talking about? win is spelled correctly on what im reading. anyway...i think he looks crazy!!! kinda like a chemo patient, but its great that hes focused on his game and enthusiastic about winning america the gold....we need something to be proud of that doesn have to do with war and oil...

raven at 6:16PM on Aug 1st 2008

10. BENZLUVA: WHY DO YOU BLACK WOMEN ALWAYS HAVE TO FOCUS ON HOW GOOD LOOKING THE BROTHERS ARE. THE BROTHER HAS A GOOD HEART, AND THAT'S WHAT REALLY MATTERS. BESIDES D-WADE LOOKS GOOD ENOUGH, AND THATS' THE WAY GOD MADE ALL OF US, JUST THE WAY HE WANTED US TO BE. LOOKING FOR ALL THESE 'PRETTY GUYS'(DUH,) WOMEN ARE THE ONE'S THAT'S SUPPOSED TO BE PRETTY. HOWEVER,THAT'S THE REASON A LOT OF YOU SISTERS ARE SPENDING ALL YOUR HOLIDAYS ALONE, (NO MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY)AND SLEEPING ALONE AT NIGHT WITH ONLY YOUR OUT OF WEDLOCK 'BABIES' TO KEEP YOU COMPANY.( GET THAT FROWN OFF YOUR FACE, YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE.)

Everett at 4:12AM on Aug 2nd 2008

11. I definitely agree with you, Everett!
There's nothing wrong with Wade's bald head! I am a Wade fan and I always will be...no matter how his looks change!
