Wendy Williams & Omarosa: Tale of the Tape

Posted Jul 24th 2008 10:10PM by Karu F. Daniels
Filed under: Entertainment Newswire

By Karu F. Daniels and Jawn Murray, BlackVoices.com

Omarosa
sure knows how to shake things up.

Ask Wendy Williams – who witnessed the reality TV vixen in all of her fierce glory during a live taping of her brand new daytime television talk show on July 21.

The 'Apprentice' star was there to promote her forthcoming book, The Bitch Switch, and Williams was there to "smooth her out" and do what she usually does to her celebrity guests.

As anyone who witnessed Omarosa on her former TV appearances, the woman doesn't take "no tea for the fever" – and never backs down from a fight.

With two strong-willed women who rarely hold their tongues going head-to-head we should've expected a skirmish-- no one predicted a full on siege. For both Wendy and Omarosa it was inevitably a win-win battle (we're still talking about it aren't we?).

BlackVoices.com wanted to take a different approach to the glut of mainstream media coverage of the two black women going at it with each other (not cute when you really think about it), and wanted to see how each of the fearless femmes fatale matched up in various categories.

Like us, you'll be surprised how much they have in common. See how they stack up.

16. why do black people hate on each other? (i am black btw)

geraldine at 4:50PM on Jul 26th 2008

17. I THINK OMAROSA ACTED VERY IGNORANT, RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL.THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE FOR EVERYTHING.THE WAY OMAROSA STARTED WAS REALLY UNCALLED FOR.WENDY (NOT ONE OF MY FAV PEOPLE NEITHER WAS THE BETTER WOMAN).O HAS SOME SERIOUS ISSUES WITHIN HERSELF.I MEAN THEY ARE DEEP.SHE IS A ANGRY BLACK WOMAN.WITH MAJOR ISSUES.WE DON'T HAVE TO WALK AROUND SO ANGRY.AND REMEMBER,PEOPLE WHO HURT,HURT OTHERS.GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

COCOA at 5:46PM on Jul 26th 2008

18. Apparently, many folks want to kick Wendy Williams' teeth in. Omarosa cashed that check (figuratively and literally) on Wendy's ass. I'm in Hollywood and lots of folks are cheering Omarosa for standing toe-to-toe with Wendy. It was similar to Sug Knight getting knocked-out! Or Mike Tyson going down for the first time. Wendy faced looked off kiltered, as if she had an extra chromosome!

Ann Brown at 1:07PM on Jul 27th 2008

19. Looks like they are getting the attention they want. I'm still not going to support either of them, but they have confirmed to me their stupidity and cheapness. Why use one's 15 minutes of fame to sell one's soul to the media devil. It would be nice to see someone gain popularity by having good character. Haven't we seen enough "HO's" yet?

T at 1:46PM on Jul 27th 2008

20. First and foremost, way to rep Ohio, Miss Manigault-Stallworth (although you probably have to swallow spit each time you have to mention where you're really from.) I believe there are many women out there who can only wish they could be like either of these women--that is, in being able to express themselves and not have only the people within hearing distance hear. Both women are driven, outspoken, and very capable of taking care of themselves. Although I could very readily accede to Ms. Manigault-Stallworth's premise, I think what makes her so unpalatable (and this could be said for Mrs. Williams as well) is how she goes about doing what she does. Superficially speaking, noone likes a B$TCH while internally (which some of us would never admit to), there are many of us whom crave the same tenacity and resolve! But, even as I say this, I am also reminded to that, the same people you see going up, you're going to see coming down and karma is also a b$tch! Lastly, Omarosa - 1, Wendy - none!

21. Wendy got hit with a sucker punch at first, then
she realized that O was a tough cookie and she began to fight back before she was counted out. I think
Wendy won, but not by much.

Edward at 9:23PM on Jul 27th 2008

22. OMAROSA IS AN EX CRACK HEAD / CLOSET SMOKER , THAT HOOKED FOR TRICKS OUT IN NY.

ZZTOP42@AOL.COM at 9:50PM on Jul 27th 2008

23. LOVE WENDY! WILL B WATCHING EVERY SHOW. I MISS HER SO MUCH ON POWER99FM. CANT STAND OMAROSA!!! Sad but TRUE, WAS HAPPY TO HEAR SHE WAS HAVING SO MANY COMPLICATIONS WITH HER BOOB JOB. Did you guys see that show on the discovery channel? Her mom was just as jacked up! YUCK! Not only did she want them 2 do her free but het mom as well. Talk about a cheap ass.

PATRICIA at 10:41PM on Jul 27th 2008

24. I think they are both crazy. And Wendy should have handled the situation better considering it was live TV. Then it could have been an act to boost ratings.

Ms.D at 11:21PM on Jul 27th 2008

25. omarosa is a wanna-be......just haven't figured out what yet!
she fakes anger and she doesn't do a good job of it.
she's a mouthy bully and deserves no more time on the tube.
buy her book........NO WAY!

Marcia at 1:30AM on Jul 28th 2008

26. I don't like either one of them. Wendy has been a true b**** since I 1st listened to her on hot97, so she got a taste of her own medicine. Now Omarosa played her self (she been playing herself since she stepped on televison). She had no reason to come at Wendy side ways. I honestly feel like Omarosa was intimadated by Wendy and she put her guard up to high. She showed Wendy that she actually follows her career and she has copied her attitude. Besides that they both acted like highschool teenagers on nation television. There are other people that really want to have an opportunity and have a show that makes since and this is not one of them. She should have went to Tyra show, so Tyra could have killed her with kindness like real b****** do!

Ebony Stoddard at 9:38AM on Jul 28th 2008

27. I would like to correct a blog I posted yesterday. I meant sense, but I put since and I put nation instead of national television. Excuse me for my mistakes!

Ebony Stoddard at 9:41AM on Jul 28th 2008

28. I never cared for Wendy much, but after that show, I have a new respect for her. She couldn't handled it better. She stayed cool, calm and collective. I am a professional woman and I would have lost it. Wendy has very much proven herself.

I say go Wendy. I wish you well.

PS. In your heart, I know you wanted to give her a fat hand. You remained a lady as far as I am concerned.

klee at 1:56PM on Jul 28th 2008

29. Both of these women should go somewhere and SHUTUP,
most people don't think either one has ANY talent, or should even be on television or anywhere else

Andre at 2:18PM on Jul 28th 2008

30. Wendy Williams reminds me of Ney York's mother...don't they both remind you of a horse (face-wise)?
