Wendy Williams & Omarosa: Tale of the Tape

Posted Jul 24th 2008 10:10PM by Karu F. Daniels
Filed under: Entertainment Newswire

By Karu F. Daniels and Jawn Murray, BlackVoices.com

Omarosa
sure knows how to shake things up.

Ask Wendy Williams – who witnessed the reality TV vixen in all of her fierce glory during a live taping of her brand new daytime television talk show on July 21.

The 'Apprentice' star was there to promote her forthcoming book, The Bitch Switch, and Williams was there to "smooth her out" and do what she usually does to her celebrity guests.

As anyone who witnessed Omarosa on her former TV appearances, the woman doesn't take "no tea for the fever" – and never backs down from a fight.

With two strong-willed women who rarely hold their tongues going head-to-head we should've expected a skirmish-- no one predicted a full on siege. For both Wendy and Omarosa it was inevitably a win-win battle (we're still talking about it aren't we?).

BlackVoices.com wanted to take a different approach to the glut of mainstream media coverage of the two black women going at it with each other (not cute when you really think about it), and wanted to see how each of the fearless femmes fatale matched up in various categories.

Like us, you'll be surprised how much they have in common. See how they stack up.

1. They are both wack and I wouldn't give them the time of day. Both of them are what gives really women a bad name. Grow up or shut up! And Wendy, you can't touch Ms. O. with a ten foot polr! Dream on!

3. Well, I did not see any of it. But I would like to say....WHY IS IT THAT BLACK WOMEN DO NOT LIKE EACH OTHER? Why is it that only OPRAH seems to get along with everybody????

Why is it we have to attack each other...especially in the cold cruel world that it can sometimes be?
Live and let live!

Why do you have that mentality of the WILD, WILD WEST..."THIS TOWN ISN'T BIG ENOUGH FOR THE BOTH OF US?"

Look this is America...the land of the Free! There is more than enough wealth to go around.

Bottom line....RATINGS===RATING---RATINGS!!!
IF THEY DID NOT HAVE THAT FIGHT...WE WOULD NOT BE WRITING OUR COMMENTS...AND PEOPLE WOULD NOT EVEN KNOW THE SHOW WAS ON THE AIR...SO ALWAYS REMEMBER...TELEVISION IS A BUSINESS IT IS CALLED SUPPLY AND DEMAND!

5. Omarosa is like a carnival act; an oddity and cheap. She's an oddity because most educated Black women would never ever act as stupid as she does and cheap because who'd pay more than $ .25 cents to see her? However, like Bozo, she's making a good living being a clown. Maybe she should change her name to "Krusty", like Krusty the clown on "The Simpsons."

Dina at 2:36AM on Jul 25th 2008

6. I have a very negative opinion of Amarosa based on her behavior on the "Apprentice." She tends to be self serving, divisive, obnoxious, and will stab you in your back. She bushwacked Wendy. That entire exchange was typical Amarosa style. Her behavior was straight from the street and low class. I had a vision of the Jerry Springer show.

Shirley Thomas at 4:33AM on Jul 25th 2008

7. Omarosa is just what the dr ordered for Wendy. Omarosa gave her a taste of her own medicine. Thanks O., that was for my girl Whitney H. and I don't know WH personally, just a dedicated fan. And I like Wendy too!!! Wendy ex spit in her face?? that's deep..what tha f did u do wend

Linda at 8:37AM on Jul 25th 2008

8. This whole episode has been good publicity for Omarosa's book. Because of this, she has been in the headlines all week, and that is probably what she was looking for.

9. Oh, Lisa that is the question that needs addressing. Why are black women so jealous and envious of each other? There are some black women out there that don't like to see another sista do well. It is so ridiculous it's as if you took something from them, holding a grudge and you haven't been introduced. Something has been lost between sistas that was real and endearing. These days it's all about who looks better than the other and lookie, lookie see what I got.

You know the funny thing when I am out in public with no makeup and sweats I am embraced with a smile. But there are more times that I am out dressed with makeup and stared down as if I have done something to someone. I am the same way with makeup or without so please don't think I change my attitude when I get a little dressed. Before anyone comments back that maybe I am a little paranoid step outside yourself and visualize what I am saying. I know you have seen how some of us greet one another. There are young and not so young sistas that you can see the envy and jealousy in their eyes. WHY? Some black women hate each other, hate white and latino women. We use to be about embracing our own now it's something different. Viciousness. It is so sad, why not smile at each other in passing instead of the sneers. We use to stick together.

DeniseJ at 10:20AM on Jul 25th 2008

10. I like Omarosa I think she knows that in the world we live in you have to stand alone, you are your own best friend. Black women are human, if some one is attacking us despite there color we are going to defend are selfs. Wendy Williams on the other hand was abused as a child.

Maxine at 12:40PM on Jul 25th 2008

11. cracker jacks and pop corn yall.

smacky at 4:03PM on Jul 25th 2008

12. I saw the show and Omarosa was rude from the moment she sat down...She was not nice at all...it seemed as if she came to fight!! Therse is a difference from being strong and confident and rude and bitchy! But she was there to promote her book conveniently titled 'The Bitch Switch" She is such a sad person!

Caring at 6:58PM on Jul 25th 2008

13. It`s a toss up to me,because I don`t care for either one of the bit####,and yes they are both bit####.Omarosa is very arrogant, and self absorbed, and Wendy has a big mouth and has absolutley no morals whatsoever, especially when it comes to relationships.

KK at 9:56PM on Jul 25th 2008

14. The fight seems phony-ish. I'm pretty sure it is a publicity stunt.

Ken at 9:58AM on Jul 26th 2008

15. Miss. Omarosa is still working her 15 minutes. She still has 2 minutes and she is working them trust me. She came on the scene during the time when there were just a few black women being selected for reality T.V. instead of acting with a little bit of sense she lost her mind and since every casting director for reality tv thinks that all black women act like her. Anything to get goood ratings. Trust folks are talking about her and it's not in a positive way. Wendy handle herself like a professional and that chick showed that she has no class.
