7. Barrack Obama, like all politicians, and all public figures, is subject to close scrutinization, as expected. He may become the first African American President and therefore comments will be both positive and negative by both Whites and Blacks. More important is what this person will do for the country as a whole. I'm waiting, listening and observing.

9. I am a 71 yr old African-American mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; and, it is disappointing to read so much rediculous "Chatter" on the BlackVoices blogs.

Electing our next president is an extremely serious matter and deserves to be viewed as such by all who profess to be fear and open-minded people, regardless of our individual race, social and/or cultural status or background. It is disheartening, in fact, it should be frightening to any decent fear thinking individual when those who are clearly against any African-American achieving any success in "any way or in "anything" go so far as to boldly and loudly show by their actions and/or speak words that show they are steadfastly against a black man being elected President of -- in their words -- their country which dismisses the fact that it's OUR country too; and, blatantly show their ignorance, bigotry, and at times their deep-seeded hatred of minorities.

Nevertheless, such "Chatter" and disgraceful antics by the "Naysayers" just makes me more determined to prove by my own actions who are the superior and more God-fearing people on this God's earth. In accordance with God's Word we are all created equal. Our United States Constitution clearly states that as well. Further, we have a responsibility to one another, and we need to treat each other as we desire to be treated. One example is to give each other the same respect that we all, I'm sure, want returned, and demonstrate that respect individually by the words we speak and the deeds we do. Why, I often ask myself do so many so-called Christians fail so miserably in practicing what they themselves know is required to be a faithful follower in and of God's Word? I sincerely believe that the time has come for all of us who are Blessed to still be breathing God's air -- whether you are a Believer or a Atheist -- you need to "Check yourself" because tomorrow is not promised to any of us.

That said, it's with total confidence that I take the opportunity to proudly inform anyone who reads this "blog" or those I come in contact with, that I am 100 percent in support of Barack Obama being elected President of OUR US of A. As an African-American, I love my children, grandchildren, and greatgrand-children as well as all God's children much to much to risk their lives and/or the lives of others for another 4 years or even 1 more year in the hands of a Republican Administration. The Republican Party have used their Republican colleagues and their media co-horts over the pass 8 yrs and clearly demonstrated that they will say and do anything to first of all gain the powers associated with the office of president and the Whitehouse, and currently to maintain that power -- let us not forget what they did to Al Gore. Further, it should be obvious to any rational thinking person that the Republican party has said and will continue to say anything and/do anything to hold on to the "POWER" that was handed to them almost 8 yrs ago. In my opinion, a person has to be either a racist or a "Closet Bigot" or deaf, dumb and blind, not to know or to have noticed that the Republicans, that is, most, if not all of them have already demonstrated their lack of concern or mercy for any group of people or any individual person who does not concede to or conform to the standards and/or "DEMANDS" made by them -- whether the standard or demand is "RIGHT" or "WRONG." Such insensitivity has been demonstrated time and time again by this current Republic Administration, therefore, I believe that by putting that administration back in "CHARGE" of all of "OUR LIVES" for another 4 years would be the absolute worse thing that could happen -- they will only get bolder and bolder in their vicious lying ways in carrying out all Federal, State, and Local Government business that will have even more of a diastrous impact on all of our lives.

To all who will vote for John McCain for President and those who say they may not vote at all, I say to you, I'm sorry you feel the way you do, nevertheless, I remain cognizant that there is a real possibility that you could care less about what I think or about how I feel. I say that, because by voting for the Republican nominee for President -- or by not voting at all which could possibly cause the Republican nominee being elected -- it's clear to me that you unscientably concede to the lies and other forms of deceit practiced by those who -- consciously or subconsciously are bend on keeping a man of African decent from being elected President of the United States.

12. Dear Marjorie White: It couldn't have been said any better. You are about the same age as my Mother. (She will be 71 in December) So just about everyone that was born in 1937 was born before she was. We as your children, and grandchildren,(the greatgrand's will be excluded this time) (smile) would do well to mirror the experience, and wherewithall that you all have. I feel really bad how that some in the generations that are following you and my Mother's footsteps can be so ignorant, and jealous of each other, and make stupid statements that are made on this blog. Sad, sad, sad indeed. They seem to just want to wallow in sub standard living for the rest of time.
