If there was ever a 'farm team' in the film business, like the way baseball teams use the minor leagues to find and bring up good players, you would have to say that the Disney Channel is the farm team for Walt Disney Pictures. After record breaking ratings explosions, and not to mention the cult status of 2 'High School Musical' films, the third installment is headed to the big screen with 'High School Musical 3: Senior Year'.
The whole cast ( Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, Matt Prokop, Jemma McKenzie-Brown, Olesya Rulin) is back including newcomer Justin Martin, who was last seen in 'A Raisin in the Sun' with Sean Combs and Sanaa Lathan.
Set to open on October 24, 'High School Musical 3: Senior Year' finds high school seniors Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) facing the prospect of separation as they head off to different colleges. Joined by the rest of the Wildcats, they stage an elaborate spring musical reflecting their experiences, hopes and fears about the future. With incredible new music and exciting dance numbers designed to take maximum advantage of the big screen, this motion picture extravaganza delivers plenty of high-energy entertainment from East High's talented ensemble.
