Boxing Legend George Foreman Gets a Reality Show

Posted Jul 10th 2008 2:37PM by Quibian Salazar-Moreno
Filed under: Casually Obsessed

Next week, the good folks at TV Land will be debuting the reality series, "Family Foreman." Yes, tis another athlete getting his reality show on. The series will focus on the everyday life of George Foreman and his wife and children, four of them also annoyingly named George. The show premieres on July 16 and will run six 30 minute episodes for the next month and a half.

"Olympic gold medal winner, minister, businessman -- there are so many ways to describe George Foreman -- but viewers have never seen how he juggles all of these demands with being a loving father," said Larry W. Jones, president, TV Land, in a statement. "Foreman truly lives life to the fullest, and our viewers can easily relate to how he gets caught up in the frenzy of his busy life."Some of the episodes will showcase things like Foreman promoting a new book or trying to make it home for his son's football game and maybe even cooking with his grill. After every episode, fans can head to TVLand.com and get the background info of each episode from Foreman's daughter Natalie, in the form of a blog. Are you interested?

2. I am from Texas City,Texas about 35 miles from Foreman's hometown,Houston. I will watch his show on July 16, and I will e-mail my family and friends to tell them to watch his show too. Can't wait!

3. This is going to be very interesting! George Foreman is a character! I love his spirit! He is probably the only man to have ever scared me...in my life! I was in Las Vegas walking in one direction and George was walking towards me, from another direction. I actually became frozen...I could not believe his size. His dang it forearms were bigger than my thighs! I just recall thinking...Boy, I'm glad that he is not my father...I was imagining those dang it azz whippings! Whew...
Anyway, can't wait to see George in his element...he can manage to make anyone smile! Keep up the great work George this world needs a big SMILE!

6. This is for 'Joy', I grew up "with" George I'm originaly from 5th.ward Hou.Tx. I rember Goerge in so many different lights from the "street fighter" Goerge to the 'Olympian' George to the 'World Champian Goerge to corner preacher to broke to present.

God has been good to him and I'm glad for him he's a testiment to how a man with the guidance and love of God "can" over come!

7. True, there are too many reality TV shows, but the ones that depict the family lives of our favorite celebrities will never bore me. They're much more interesting that the sitcoms. I wish George Foreman the best.

9. Mr. Foreman's reality show will probably be blessed by God just like his life has been. Mr. Foreman is a living testament to God's power and grace. God can take a thug roughian like Geroge Foreman and the Apostle Paul and do great things through them. God can do great things through each of us if we allow God to rule and guide our lives. Without saying a word about God, Mr. Foreman's life story is and his reality show will be a powerful sermon about God's love and power to shape lives. If the producers do not attempt to present another show depicting Blacks as buffoons, Mr Foreman's series should be a hit, at least with me...just like his grill. I'll be watching, analyzing, learning and applying Mr. Foreman's lessons learned to my life.

10. Family reality shows are different from the others. You learn real truth, love and the respect they have for one another that media doesn't show or tell.I can't wait to see George in action. I always liked him.

Anniepie at 11:19AM on Jul 12th 2008

11. I love George and I wish him well, but he lost me when he named all of his kids 'George'....LOL. I think his show will do fine though, I may watch the first episode.

IPress at 11:33AM on Jul 12th 2008

12. I AM SICK OF HIM AND THAT DAMN MACHINE I WAS SICK OF HIM WHEN HE WAS STILL BOXING AFTER NEEDING TO BE RETIRED. HE SMILES TO MUCH AND IS SICKING AND NEEDS TO GO SOMEWHERE AND FISH.

Loretta at 12:21AM on Jul 13th 2008

13. George Foreman, may God continue to bless you, your gamily and all your endeavors. \o/
As for # 4 (Shelia) and # 13 Loretta, your opinions matter NOT and changes NOTHING, it's a reflection of your heart condition (negative and envious and sour) It appears you 2 and others (as such) NEED Jesus!

Beverly at 11:27AM on Jul 13th 2008

14. I LOVE IT!!! WELCOME GEORGE TO THE WORLD OF REALITY T.V.....MORE FUN FOR ME.
MS. RITA, YOUR FAVORITE FAN.

15. If Ali is the Greatest of All Time what do we call George Forman? George isn't even done yet. What fighter has come close to George Forman's acomplishments? I am 53 years old and have grown up watching George Forman. I recall when he looked and acted the part of a big mean ugly bully, very little like the respectable caring gentleman and family man he is today. The nicest thing I can say about these blogers with their negative replies is that, they just don't know. That's just another way of saying, "they're ignorant". Sorry, but I couldn't resist. So far the show is a hit with me.
