Millions View Video of Talk Show Host Oprah Winfrey's Denial of Christ

A new video which features popular talk show host Oprah Winfrey denying Jesus as the only way to God has received over 5 million views on several reporting video sites.

The approximately seven-minute video entitled, "The Church of Oprah Exposed," was posted less than a month ago and has claimed the a Top Favorites spot in the News & Politics category of a popular social networking site.

According to reports, many of the latest visitor streams come from PerezHilton.com, a Hollywood gossip blog, whose author wrote that "crazy Christians" are trying to demonize Oprah as a "conduit of evil."

However, the 'new age' philosophy the video attributes Oprah with spreading has been a cause of concern for many Christians for some time. Many believe the day-time host is leading many into spiritual confusion by distorting the gospel message of Christianity.

One pastor likened Oprah's 'many ways to God' approach as a 'blind man' drawing close to the edge of a dangerous cliff. "She holds the trendy idea that religions are essentially the same," writes Steven W. Cornell, a Pennsylvania-based pastor.

"She irrationally romanticizes the notion that God can be whatever you want him/her/it to be," Cornell continues to write.

During the video, viewers are shown a clip of a previous show where Oprah blatantly denies Jesus as the only way to God. "How can there be only one way to heaven or to God?" Oprah asked the audience. When asked by a woman in the audience, "What about Jesus?" Oprah responded, "What about Jesus? There couldn't possibly be one way."

The video's primary focus seems to be targeted at Oprah's recent Webinar class, where she is promoting Eckhart Tolle's new book entitled, "New Earth."

With Tolle as a guest, Oprah explains how her view of God and the spiritual teachings of Christianity changed in her late 20's after hearing a preacher describe God as a 'jealous' God. She said that by opening her mind to the "hugeness" of God, she was able to accept the notion that God is not jealous, but rather a "God of love."

"God is a feeling experience," Oprah said in the popular YouTube video, "not a believing experience. If your religion is a believing experience... that's not truly God," she says.

Christian radio talk show host Frank Pastore, is one of many Christian leaders who has spoken out on Oprah's views, saying that her worldview is irreconcilable with that of Christianity. "If she's a Christian, she's an ignorant one, because Christianity is incompatible with New Age thought," Pastore wrote on Crosswalk.

LivePrayer.com founder Bill Keller, an internet-based program on faith and values, believes Oprah may be starting her 'own cult.'

When speaking with the Celebrity News Service, Keller said, "She has an incredible amount of influence over people and an incredible following."

"I believe these New Age teachings are like 'spiritual crack' because people are hungry," Keller continued to say. "The teachings satisfy...(but) then they are hungry again."

Keller joins many Christian leaders who believe people are afraid to challenge Oprah because of her power, but expect more to question her teachings over the few months.

1. Oh Oprah. All that money and talent. All your generosity, but you deny Jesus is Lord, the only way to salvation. You say you are a Christian that believes there are other paths leading to God. You are not a Christian.

2. Oprah, this video is very difficult for me to justify. Particularly, because I have always been such a great admirer of your accomplishments. So I'm going to put my money where my mouth is!" I have written many postings proudly stating: "American must learn to respect others for cultural differences and religous practices".

With that said,

Here's a good time for me to practice what I preach!"
Although our religous belief differ, I still admire you for your accomplishments....

3. Would you tell a Muslim, Jewish or Buddhist child that they are going to hell because they do not accept Jesus as thier savior? If you grew up believing that there is more than one way to get to God would'nt you think that was truth, the same way as believing in one savior all your life? Religion aside. Love is the common link. People are ostricized or killed because of religous belief's in God's name. God has been used for the agenda of segragated groups classified by race, social standing and or political views. When will we get to the heart of the matter?

4. I think that all that money that Oprah has blinded her. Oprah need to stop worshipping the all mighty dollar and pick/read her BIBLE! There is only ONE way to GOD and that's through JESUS! The bible is right and Oprah is a liar!!!!!!

5. Oprah I got your back! I too believe that Jesus is not the ONLY way to God. I am not religious(man made, not God Made), I am spiritual(Inspired by God) and I really think that we all have our own relationship with the God of our understanding. Not everyone will worship the way that so called christians do and for people to get upset with Oprah for saying this is just plain stupid. Most of the people who will say Oprah's wrong don't even know how the book they call the bible was even crafted.

6. Oprah is a talk show host who has the option to think and believe whatever she pleases. There are many newscasters that are atheist; however they are great at report the world news. I get my news from them, not my theology. If Oprah is connected or endorses Barak Obama, then if you lower her in the eyes of the public, you can discredit him by association. It's all a ploy to sway the vote from McCain. Let her be a talk show host and get your spirtual understanding from the leader you have chosen to trust.

8. Some Christians want us to believe that Malcom X. Muhammad Ali will burn in hell for eternity because they're not Christian. Why to we got a worship a white guy named Jesus to get to Heaven? It's all propaganda to control the masses. I can't believe this many people have believed these fairy tales for this long. Personally I'm an atheist.

10. Jesus was an amazing thinker. As was the Buddha. All religions are basically the same. It teaches in the Bible that God is love, and God is in everything.... Man has created God in HIS own image. God is so immense, an invisible male personality in the sky doesn't cut it. If your "religion" gave you peace, you wouldn't get so stressed out about who's right and who's wrong. We just are. Love and love alike.

El at 8:55PM on Jul 3rd 2008

11. There are many paths, hello! How arrogant of Christians to think that God could create such a diverse dynamic universe (most of which u know nothing about) yet the only way to access that God is your way? Lawd...help us. Isnt that the same flawed philosophy thats getting our ass kicked in Iraq? When you look beneath man's ego and need to have dominion over one another, you see that the core of all religion is the same...live your best life, nourish your spirit, love (not fear) God, the creative source. Unfortunately too many Christians distort the teachings of Christ and devote too much energy to their 'devil'. Our view of Christianity involves everything but Christ. I'm am so thankful that Jesus shows us the example of perfection. Why don't we stop yappin' about Jesus and start living like him! Was Jesus a Christian? Hmmmmmm. Go Oprah! Always stand in your light!

chocomel at 9:27PM on Jul 3rd 2008

12. Well,if anyone really watches Oprah and pay close attention it is evident that Oprah really never was a Christian, she is more New Age religion. Some of her guest have advised self enlightenment. Research Deprock Chopra, his beliefs are close to Buhdism, New Age. She encourages that its you not God, but throws in alittle Jesus, and that whats fools alot of people.

Laura at 9:32PM on Jul 3rd 2008

13. Jesus said: I AM THE WAY, THE TRUTH, AND THE LIFE; NO ONE COMES TO THE FATHER EXCEPT THROUGH ME.
St. John 14:6

...there is no other way Oprah....

ceegee at 9:45PM on Jul 3rd 2008

14. Jesus was a nice guy, but he was NOT (I repeat NOT) the son of God. There's no evidence that there is a God, and even if there is, it has NOTHING to do with Jesus. People need to think for themselves, and stop worshiping this white boy Jesus. What a bunch of sheep evangelical Christians are. These are the same group of fools who elected Bush twice and refuse to let us teach evolution in the classrooms. They are living in the dark ages and have the intellect of children.

Yanlen at 3:09AM on Jul 4th 2008

15. We are in the times we were warned about by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Oprah is not right in what she is doing, but she is lost. We have all been lost, but our shepard comes for us. God gave Jesus to us as a way to true salvation. In that we must beilive completely that he was the "Son of God" to recieve the gift of eternal life. The Bible will always be under fire because it was written by God through man. If you truely believe you will not be lead by words, written or spoken, but delivred by your faith.
"JESUS IS THE ONLY WAY!"
We should not hate on Oprah or those like her, but instead pray united that they will be deliverd from the grips of Satan's powerful influence. She has surrounded herself with sin, now she must repent before God. We all must repent no matter how we feel, because we are all sinners. I forgive her and so should you!
God Bless All of US!
